2000 mustang gt, 1 owner (me)  86,272 miles (might be a little more if I drive it before the auction ends),  5 speed manual transmission, dark mid-atlantic blue color, NO TRACTION CONTROL!!  I ordered this car back in November of 1999 and checked off all the options except leather seats and traction control.  the car has 86,272 miles on it currently, most of which were highway miles.  this car was never my "first" car.  it was always a pleasure vehicle.  the car was never in an accident.  the car has required very little work over the years....I have replaced the tires, brakes at 75,000 miles (that was probably 6 or 7 years ago) and yes it was the cars first brake job.....goes to show it was never abused.  the alternator was replaced due to a bad bearing in the first month I had the car and the drivers side seat belt was replaced when it was about 2 years old by the dealer.  oil has been changed every 3,000 miles and tires rotated front to back every 5,000 miles. there are no aftermarket modifications at all on this car.   besides replacing some light bulbs here and there the car is basically original.  if I find the folder with the original window sticker, order form, etc ill include it also

there are some light scratches on the car which may be able to be buffed out.  I tried to take pictures of them the best I can.  the air conditioner needs a charge.  I bought the can of stuff to do it but never got around to it....ill leave it in the trunk for the new owner.  the headlight lenses should also be buffed out.....I bought the kit to do it but again didn't get around to it.  ill also include that in the trunk. on the inside ledge on the fender the paint has chipped a little (also tried to get that in the picture)

I haven't driven the car a lot in the last few years but I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.  as  you can see it has never given me a problem.  the car is beautiful when cleaned up and people cant believe its in the condition it is in for its age.  remember you are buying an almost 14 year old car so please expect some minor imperfections.  the battery is about 6 years old.

you can either come and pick it up or send a carrier to get it.  you must arrange all the shipping and of course pay for it.

$500.00 non re-fundable deposit via paypal is required within 48 hours.  the rest either a check or bank transfer.  once I get the funds cleared in my account ill tell you to come get the car not as minute sooner.  I chose ebay to sell it because I have bought a few cars on ebay with great results.

Ford Mustang was almost 'Imported from Detroit'

Wed, Oct 7 2015

The Ford Mustang achieved iconic status nearly the moment the sheet came off at the 1964 World's Fair. And if Henry Ford II wasn't getting divorced around that time, the pony car might have been called the Torino and been marketed as 'Imported from Detroit,' according to Automotive News. We'll explain. During research for the new book Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story, author David Maraniss found an interesting connection between Chrysler's (now FCA US) slogan and the Ford Mustang. Before the pony car even had a name, the Blue Oval's advertising agency had the idea to market it as a "brand new import ... from Detroit," according to Automotive News. The vehicle would be sold as "inspired by Italy's great road cars, but straight from Detroit." The name Torino was suggested, as well. However, the real world interfered in making the Mustang Detroit's first import. According to the author, Henry Ford II was getting a divorce, and his future wife was Italian. It was therefore thought to be a bad idea to sell the future pony car as being from Italy. Things clearly changed by the time the Torino hit the streets years later. Related Video:

Shelby Mustang stars with Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez in Getaway movie

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

Car movies. We keep watching them, they keep making them. Despite Fast & Furious 6 still blowing up the box office (No. 1 in theaters for the second straight week) and production on Transformers 4 being well underway (check out the Bugatti Veyron and Corvette Stingray as new cast members), there's still room on the marquee for more car movies. Next one up is an Ethan Hawke joint called Getaway, which prominently co-stars a Ford Shelby GT500. The first trailer for Getaway, which opens in theaters on August 30, was released yesterday and can be watched below.
The movie's plot centers around Hawke's character, former race car driver Brent Magna, who must somehow use this car, what appears to be a generation-old Shelby GT500 Super Snake he "commandeered," to save his wife. The movie's third co-star is Selena Gomez, whose character we're told is the owner of said Shelby. A 20-year-old having a car like this seems a bit far-fetched - especially in Europe - and on paper, this plot looks like it cribs liberally from Charlie Sheen's 1994 The Chase. But all we've got to go on is a brief plot description and the trailer below, so we'll withhold judgment until the studio firmly has our ticket money in its grasp.
The Shelby GT500 is, of course, no stranger to acting. Before this jump to celluloid, the most fearsome of all Mustang models starred in the return of Knight Rider to television on NBC back in 2008. That gig didn't pan out for the car, the show lasting only one season and 17 episodes. In fact, with its casting in Getaway, the Shelby GT500 is one of the few actors who escaped that debacle with a future in show biz.

Ford files patent for 11-speed transmission

Sat, Apr 11 2015

The automatic transmission seemed limited to three or four gears for decades, and then the automotive world slowly started to see more ratios becoming available. Today, seven-, eight- or nine-speed gearboxes have become rather common. Ford even has an automatic with 10 gears on the way for the future F-150 Raptor. The Blue Oval might not be done yet, though, because the company also now has a patent on an 11-speed box. The filing, which was discovered by AutoGuide, says this idea "produces eleven forward speed ratios and one reverse speed ratio by selective engagement of three shift elements in various combinations," and the company outlines three different ways of making this possible. The advantage of adding one more ratio is that the gearbox should be able to keep the revs in the ideal portion of the engine's torque curve even longer. Obviously, automakers patent ideas constantly, and applying for one is no guarantee that the tech ever arrives on the market. Conversely, these documents provide a tiny glimpse at one of the brand's focuses of development. If you're mechanically minded or just curious, you can read the entire application here for the technical nitty-gritty.
