For your consideration is my 96 Mystic Cobra. I am the second owner as far as I know and I purchased it in 2002. I only drive it about 500 miles a year now, so it's time for another toy. The car is in great shape to be 17 years old and 51,500 miles. It has numerous mods, and is a blast to drive, as well as smoke most every new car that tries you, including the new 2014 Cobra. I have installed 2003-04 Cobra seats with the hard to find Black suede inserts, 04 pedals, and shift knob (for a 5-speed). Also it has new carpet, and a new rug in the trunk. The supercharger was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago at Vortech due to a leaking seal, and I had them replace all bearings and do an overhaul since I had it out. You are welcome to the receipt for that work. I also have the certificates from Ford listing the Cobra build number as well as the Mystic build number. The engine has never had work done, never even had the valve covers off, and is stock to the throttle body. I did change the mass air and fuel injectors to supplement the blower. The heat blows hot and the AC blows cold, all windows work, and door locks. The exterior was repainted before I bought the car, the story being that the previous owners son had went into a field through a barbed wire fence and the wire scratched car over the hood and roof. The lower radiator support is bent a little from this I suspect, because it has never been wrecked while I have owned it, and all body panels have the original VIN stickers from the factory. The car has some scratches on the front valence from dragging into a parking lot, and a 4 inch scratch on rear valence from I have no idea. Also, the side skirts have some wear from people getting in and out, and there is a dime sized door ding on drivers door above handle. One of the wheels is dinged about 6 inches on the outer rim. Those things plus some rock chips are the only cosmetic imperfections. The other bad is the check engine light is on, and I believe it to be an oxygen sensor, nothing serious, maybe a 30 dollar repair. I will try to fix before auction closes, or it could just be due to the cats being removed. Doesn't affect performance either way. The car is tuned with an SCT flip chip, meaning it has a setting for passing emissions testing if you are in one of those areas, or the performance version for a few more horses with the cats off. The car dyno'd at 477 RWHP at Mustang Muscle in St. Louis in 2010. I will also consider trading for a Harley Davidson V-Rod, or old hot rod from the 60's or truck from the 40-50's. No overseas buyers please, no one with less than 5 feedback, and if you have a check it must clear my bank before car exchanges hands. No warranty written or implied, car as is where is. Thank you for looking, and have a great day.

Ford celebrates 1 millionth Mustang built at Flat Rock

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500. Scroll down for a press release celebrating Flat Rock's milestone Mustang.

Coronavirus shakes up America's truck market: GM outselling Ford and Ram

Thu, Apr 2 2020

FCA, Ford and General Motors joined the rest of the U.S. auto industry in taking heavy volume hits due to coronavirus-related shortages of both cars and customers. The saying goes that a rising tide lifts all boats; it stands to reason, then, that a falling one would have the opposite effect.  However, as we learned Thursday, the automotive market can behave in unpredictable ways. While the F-Series remained the best-selling nameplate in Q1, GM's full-size trucks are now outselling Ford's again for the first time in years, and with this upward thrust from the General, FCA's Ram was unceremoniously booted out of a hard-earned second place.  While late-March sales declines hit just about every major automaker in one way or another, the model-by-model results weren't nearly so uniform. And because the market tends to be a zero-sum game, for every winner, there generally has to be a loser.  In this case, that winner was GM, and its rise had to come at the expense of another automaker, in this case, Ford. F-Series sales dropped 13.1 percent in the first quarter of 2020, while sales of GM's full-sized Silverado and Sierra surged nearly 28% in the same period. FCA's Ram lineup managed a steady-as-she-goes 7% increase. All-in, GM finished the quarter with 197,743 full-size trucks sold to Ford's 186,562. Here's the full breakdown: Ford F-Series: 186,562  Chevrolet Silverado*: 144,734 Ram P/U: 128,805 GMC Sierra: 53,009 *includes 1,036 Medium Duty sales Things are a but murkier in the midsize segment, where the Chevy Colorado slipped 36% to just 21,430 units sold — just a few hundred better than the slow-selling Ford Ranger's Q1 numbers. The GMC Canyon experienced an almost identical slide, finishing the quarter with just 4,483 units sold. For perspective, Jeep sold more than 15,000 Gladiators and Toyota's midsize Tacoma slipped less than 8%, finishing the quarter with nearly 54,000 sales.  We suspect this discrepancy in full- and mid-size truck sales comes from shifting incentives. Ford, GM and FCA would like to keep selling bigger trucks because there's far more profit margin built into their list prices. Even with tens of thousands of dollars in manufacturer money on the hood, big trucks still make money.  Since these automakers report quarterly, we won't get another good look at these numbers until July, but if you thought that 2019 represented the new normal for U.S. auto sales, well, think again.
