Ford Model A Slant Window Fordor on 2040-cars
Rochester, New Hampshire, United States
1931 Ford Model A Slant Window Fordor, late 1931 indented firewall Barn fresh car been in storage for years, car was taken apart years ago for restoration, solid rust free original car, fenders are very restorable- decent beads, all steel solid floor and sub frame, needs panels on lower cowl, car is complete- all garnish moldings and glass, only thing I am missing is one of the rear window regulators and front seat spring layback. Frame and running gear is in great shape, not heavily rusted or pitted, frame number is legibly (A4677455). The frame is the correct late 1931 frame with the special body mounts, I believe it is the original frame that was with the car. The car was all apart and recently put back together to verify all parts were there, not all bolts are in body/ fenders. I purchase this car to restore about a year ago, but do not have the time or ambition to complete. I would like to find a car that doesn't need to be completely restored, looking for something that I can just tinker with and drive. Car would be a great candidate for a ground up restoration, rat rod, or street rod, or with a little bit of time and work could drive the car the way it is. Motor runs, does have some wrist pin noise in it, good looking radiator holds water and doesn't leak, late 31 indented firewall gas tank is clean and doesn't leak. NOTE: The state of NH doesn't require titles for vehicles of this age, so I do not have a title. Car is being sold with a bill of sale. If necessary I can apply for a title (this takes 2-3 weeks), please inquire if a title is necessary. Car is located in Rochester NH and can be seen by appointment. |

Ford Focus RS ready to make our hot hatch dreams real
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Ford's current hot hatch siblings the Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already two pretty great entries into the segment, but there's always a desire for a little more. Thankfully, it looks like the Blue Oval is ready to satiate that need because it's continuing to test the even more powerful Focus RS around Europe. According to our spy shooters, these shots come from near the Nürburgring.
As with previous photos, Ford engineers continue to heavily camouflage the front end of the RS prototypes, but there's a big difference here. Unlike earlier ones, this example appears to have a closer-to-production-ready front bumper rather than just a horizontal strip for the license plate. That may point to development getting somewhat closer to wrapping up. Although, this one lacks the larger rear wing from prior testers, and the exhaust also appears to be a work in progress with the rear diffuser covered in mesh in these latest shots.
The RS is rumored to be using the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Mustang, but power is reportedly turned up from 310 horsepower in the 'Stang to somewhere between 325 hp and 350 hp for the Focus. Routing all that just through the front wheels could be a recipe for serious torque steer, and all-wheel drive is potentially being used for better traction.

Chevy says not to look at the 2019 Silverado's fuel economy rating
Tue, Nov 20 2018The 2019 Chevy Silverado is hitting dealerships soon, and one of the most notable changes for the new full-size pickup is the addition of a 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-four. The engine replaces the naturally-aspirated 4.3-liter V6 in volume consumer models like the Silverado LT and promises more power, less weight and — most importantly — better fuel economy. The thing is, the gains in efficiency haven't been as dramatic as some might have hoped, especially when stacked up against competitors from Ford and Ram. As Automotive News reports, GM's response is a little murky. First, let's talk numbers. We're pulling all figures from FuelEconomy.gov, the official U.S. government source for fuel ratings. Fuel economy numbers on trucks vary greatly based on a number of factors. Bed and cab configuration play a part, but so does a four-wheel-drive system. You also have to factor in tires, transmissions, rear-axle gearing, hybrid systems and cylinder deactivation. Things like that can make the difference between best- and worst-in-class. The EPA's website doesn't give enough information a lot of the time, so there's really no easy way to compare apples-to-apples. First, take a look at the ratings for the 2019 Silverado. A 2.7-liter model with two-wheel drive is rated 20 city, 23 highway and 21 combined. That's both better and worse than a two-wheel drive 2018 Silverado with the 4.3-liter V6 (18 city, 24 highway and 20 combined). The updated 2019 Silverado with a 4.3-liter V6 has yet to be rated. With less weight and a smaller engine, many hoped Chevy would make bigger gains. It's unusual to see any decrease in a fuel economy metric these days. GM says that it's not done tuning the new 2.7-liter engine, so fuel economy could theoretically increase. Expanding further, a V8-powered 2019 Silverado (17 city, 24 highway and 19 combined) actually gets better highway fuel economy than a turbocharged four-cylinder powered truck in certain configurations, even if the latter has a better overall average. But that's only with two-wheel drive, the 8-speed transmission and cylinder deactivation. A Silverado with the 5.3-liter V8 and a 6-speed automatic is rated at 15 city, 22 highway and 17 combined. The biggest issue with the Silverado 2.7-liter doesn't come from within GM itself but from Ford and Ram. GM cites the Ford F-150 with the 3.3-liter V6 and the Ram 1500 with the 3.6-liter V6 as the closest competitors to its new 2.7-liter inline-four.
