1931 ford roadster pick up daily driver all steel built from an original steel cowl,the build is around 5 years old and was driven alot by a freind so i know the car from the beginning ,it was taken down to the frame to do some fine tuning on the body work the original builder then got in to bikes and it sat for almost 2 years was swapped for another project a little bit of work was done by the new owner and then i got last year,what i did was put it all back together from november till now replacing everything that was needed to make it a fun solid road worthy hot rod here is a complete break down of what was done previous and what i did ,it has a 1931 cowl with a hand made body with body lines molded in to look like a 31,the bed is also hand made with a working tail gate,old fence boards for a floor,battery mounted in the tool box,fuel cell under bed floor,glass 32 grille shell , 32 head lites,duval style windsheild with new lexan , the frame has been z'd 4" in front .8" in rear and fully boxed front to rear and the body channeled 4" just enough to cover the frame ,theres a dropped tube axle up front with buggy spring and hair pins the rear is an s-10 unit with hwy gears ,hung with  split bones and a buggy spring with adjustable shock mounts, its got a 50 ford truck steering box,new king pins,rebuilt drag link,new shocks,and new brakes all around,the 318 i put in has about 75,000 miles onit,i replaced the carb,fuelpump,water pump,1 wire alternater,cap,rotor,coil,plugs,wires,plus air filter,fuel and oil filter,new freeze plugs its got lakes style headers,elec. fan,runs cool and has 45lbs of oil preasure at ldle went through the tranny (904 auto ) shifts great and has a lokar shifter,the interior has an old cal custom metalic green steering wheel vintage SW gauges including speedo, 70 dodge motor home buckets covered in green metalic,theres a nerf bar and 50 pontiac tailites on the rear, the wheels are powder coated 14x7 front and 15x 8 rears ,front tires are new rears are like new,there is minor body work needs done just some molding in and finish sanding to put a shiny paint job on it there is no rust or holes just some surface rust on interior car sits low rides great and is more solid then a glass body,its got more of a trditional look then a "rat rod" look , i love driving this car in fact its my only driver rain or shine ,hot or cold ,but i need cash  ,price reduced,no reserve for sale localy , 904-599-0202....904-342-2970

America's industrial might — automakers included — determined the outcome of the 20th centuryÂ’s biggest events. The “Arsenal of Democracy” won World War II, and then the Cold War. And our factories flew us to the moon. Apollo was a Cold War program. You can draw a direct line from Nazi V-2 rockets to ICBMs to the Saturn V. The space race was a proxy war — which beats a real war. It was a healthy outlet for technology and testosterone that would otherwise be used for darker purposes. (People protested, and still do, that money for space should go to problems here on Earth, but more likely the military-industrial complex would've just bought more bombs with it.) As long as we and the Soviet Union were launching rockets into space, we were not lobbing them at each other. JFKÂ’s challenge to “go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard,” put American industry back on a war footing. We were galvanized to beat the Russians, to demonstrate technological dominance. (A lack of similar unifying purpose is why we havenÂ’t been to the moon since, or Mars.) NASA says more than 400,000 Americans, from scientists to seamstresses, toiled on the moon program, working for government or for 20,000 contractors. Antagonism was diverted into something inspirational. The Big Three automakers were some of the biggest companies in the moon program, which might surprise a lot of people today. Note to a new generation who marveled when SpaceX launched a Tesla Roadster out into the solar system: Sure, that was neat, but just know that Detroit beat Elon Musk to space by more than half a century. This high point in human history was brought to you by Ford ItÂ’s hard to imagine in this era of Sony-LG-Samsung, but Ford used to make TVs. And other consumer appliances. Or rather Philco, the radio, TV and transistor pioneer that Ford bought in 1961 — the year Gagarin and Alan Shepard flew in space. Ted Ryan, FordÂ’s archives and heritage brand manager, just wrote a Medium article on the central role Philco-Ford played in manned spaceflight. And nothingÂ’s more central than Mission Control in Houston, the famous console-filled room we all know from TV and movies. What we didn't know was, that was Ford. Ford built that. In 1953, Ryan notes, Philco invented a transistor that was key to the development of (what were then regarded as) high-speed computers, so naturally Philco became a contractor for NASA and the military.

At meeting with automakers, Trump launches new attack on NAFTA

WASHINGTON — Ten American and foreign automakers went to the White House on Friday to push for a weakening of U.S. fuel efficiency standards through 2025, while President Donald Trump used the occasion to launch a fresh attack on the North American Free Trade Agreement that has benefited the companies. A draft proposal circulated by the U.S. Transportation Department would freeze fuel efficiency requirements at 2020 levels through 2026, rather than allowing them to increase as previously planned. Trump's administration is expected to formally unveil the proposal later this month or in June. "We're working on CAFE standards, environmental controls," Trump told reporters at the top of the meeting, referring to the Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards for cars and light trucks in the United States. Trump said he wants automakers to build more vehicles in the United States and export more vehicles. But much of the hour-long meeting focused on NAFTA. Trump blasted the pact involving the United States, Canada and Mexico as "terrible" and noted that negotiations to make changes sought by his administration were ongoing. "NAFTA has been a horrible, horrible disaster for this country and we'll see if we can make it reasonable," Trump said. Automakers have called NAFTA a success, allowing them to integrate production throughout North America and make production competitive with Asia and Europe, and have noted the increase in auto production over the past two decades with the deal in place. They have warned that changing NAFTA too much could prompt some companies to move production out of the United States. The chief executives of General Motors Co, Ford Motor Co, Fiat Chrysler, along with senior U.S. executives from Toyota Motor Corp, Volkswagen AG, Hyundai Motor Co, Nissan Motor Co, Honda Motor Co , BMW AG and Daimler AG met with Trump, as did the chief executives of two auto trade groups. Major automakers reiterated this week they do not support freezing fuel efficiency requirements but said they want new flexibility and rule changes to address lower gasoline prices and the shift in U.S. consumer preferences to bigger, less fuel-efficient vehicles.
