Model A Ford Coupe Demo

Model A Ford Coupe Drive

Up for bid is a beautiful 1930 Ford Model A Deluxe Coupe that has a stunning body off nut & bolt restoration to a high level. This was always a deluxe coupe and it was restored as it was when new. It has the rumble seat, stone guard, motor meter, LeBaron Bonney cloth tire cover and running board step plates. The body is perfect in everyway showing no signs of repairs and is strait as an arrow. The fit all around is excellent the way you want to see it. The paint finish is stunning with no signs of defects in the original colors of Kewanne & Elkpointe Green for the body with the apple wheels & pin stripe with black fenders & splash aprons as per factory standards. The interior is done in the deluxe brown mohair by LeBaron Bonney including the carpet and headliner. All the window mouldings and dash are the proper wood grain and being a deluxe this car has the interior light and adjustable seat, (see pictures). The top is also LeBaron Bonney as is the brown grain rumble seat and side panels. All the mechanicals were done for todays driving with the stainless valves, balancing, etc. and runs just beautiful. This car has the Tillotson carburetor rather than the Zenith and these were over the counter carburetors in the day when the Model A was new and fit up the same as the Zenith and many people today prefer these because they perform better. You also have the correct splash pans on the motor that sometimes are missing on many Model A’s I see for sale. The tires are the correct white walls and are as new. The underside of this car is just beautiful and if you see the pictures you can get a good idea what to expect and better. There are no pitting in the rear or chassis as you will see with many Model A’s due to a couple of reasons, one being cost of restoration to take these out, the other is that many of these cars were used up and rough and becomes to costly. This car was always a good solid car and the results speak for themselves when you see it. Everything works in the car with the exception the gas gauge float but I am fixing that as we speak and will be done before the new owner takes the car. The car drives better than most and is a pleasure and has a wonderful transmission as well. This car has very few miles since restoration. Well to sum it up this is a great example that you won’t have to spend a dime on and enjoy for years to come and is priced very reasonable as I need the room so someone is going to get a great car for the money. Best of luck to all.

My phone number should you need any further details is; 914-413-3092

I accept all checks, money orders and credit cards including Pay-Pal, personal checks must clear my bank before I can let the car go. A deposit from the winning bidder of $ 1000.00 will hold the car till you can come and see it and if this car is not as described in this add I will refund your deposit back to you in full 100% No Questions Asked.

I can arrange shipping for you door to door if you wish and will be more than happy to accommodate you in any way to make buying your car a safe and easy transaction. Here are some examples;

I use Passport Transport for many of my cars and have been very happy over the years. The next one is Kevin O’Neill, D.K.R. Enterprises, Enclosed Transportation at 201-317-3262 cell, DKR595@comcast.net

The final carrier is “Town to Town Transporting”, ask for Rich Letterer at 1-802-375-9244 or 1-802-375-5117, he is a private carrier who I recommend and will travel within 400 miles from the New York area. Give any of these carriers a call and give them my name and zip code above and your information so you can get an exact quote door to door.

Ward's announces 10 Best Engines 2015

Wed, Dec 10 2014

Ward's Auto has named its 10 Best Engines for 2015, covering a range of powerplants from fuel-sippers to fire-breathers. As with past years, forced-induction reigns supreme, with seven of the ten engines featuring a turbo or supercharger. This year is slightly different, though, as two of the seven blown engines are turbocharged three-cylinder mills, from the Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper. They're joined by the 2.0-liter turbo four from the Volvo S60, the 1.8-liter turbo four from the Volkswagen Jetta and the 2.0-liter boxer from the Subaru WRX. BMW and Chrysler were the only marques to be named to this year's list twice, with the electric motor from the i3 joining the Mini's three-pot, and the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 in the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee repping the diesel crowd, alongside a certain supercharged monster. Hyundai also took a prize with a zero-emissions powertrain, with the Tucson FCV's 100-kilowatt fuel cell making the list (apparently Ward's is quite generous with what it deems an "engine"). Rounding out the list are two Autoblog favorites, each displacing 6.2 liters, but producing their power very differently. On the one hand, Chevrolet's overhead-valve, 455-horsepower V8, found in the Corvette, makes its power the old fashioned way. And in the other corner, we have one of the most exciting engines of the year – the 707-hp, 6.2-liter, supercharged Hellcat V8, featured so prominently in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat. "We spend a lot of time reading the powertrain tea leaves throughout the auto industry, and we're proud that this year's list is a microcosm of all the latest innovation coming from automakers," said Ward's Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter in a statement. "It's not just a list for enthusiasts or for environmentalists," he says. "There's something for every vehicle shopper and every budget. All the powertrains on this list deliver a first-rate driving experience," Winter added. Scroll down for the full list from Ward's, and let us know which engines you think belong and which should have been included in this year's rankings. Ward's 10 Best Engines of 2015 Announced by Penton's WardsAuto Honorees span most diverse and technically advanced engines in 21 years of recognized powertrain excellence SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton's Wards 10 Best Engines of 2015 have been announced.

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.
