Barn fresh project 1929 Ford Model A sedan. This car starts right up and runs good. Transmission shifts great, clutch is strong and brakes are working. I was told the engine was rebuilt in 1999 and the car was parked in a barn. Car came from the hills of eastern Ky.. Has clear Indiana title in hand. Car has always been indoors out of the weather so VERY SOLID! NO ROT! Even the door bottoms are rock solid! Solid in all of the right places. You can stick a magnet anywhere on this car. Only a few minor pin holes, a few dents and dings too. Wood inside structurally solid as well. Car appears to have been blue at one time. Current black paint just scratches off. Probably latex paint from way back when. Windshield is cracked and so is the drivers side rear glass. Interior was redone years ago and the seats are done in heavy vinyl. Decent shape for a driver. Car needs wired up for driving, lights, generator/ammeter so on. I put a brand new battery in it and I have been driving this car around my property and up-down the road a few times. All 40hp. LOTS of fun but bring a trailer. For any additional questions, call me: 219-798-5109 . I do have new hub caps and a new radiator cap with water meter I will include as well as some extra parts like a spare carb and some bits and pieces in a box. Worries over Brazil's electric grid mean EVs are excluded from green car incentives. As part of a new efficiency program, non-plug-in hybrids will be eligible for a reduction in import duties, while EVs and plug-in hybrids will not. Brazil's government is concerned that the country's grid lacks the capacity to handle the increased load from an influx of EVs. Brazil plans to create a new incentive program - perhaps a more inclusive one - when the current one expires at the end of 2015. Read more at Green Car Reports. Tesla could make SUV and wagon derivatives of the upcoming Model III sedan. Tesla's VP of engineering, Chris Porritt, told Auto Express that to reach as many customers as possible, Tesla would consider all its options. "SUVs, estates - who knows?" says Porritt. He also says that while the company is currently focused on products with a broader appeal, another Roadster or other sports car aren't out of the question in the future. Read more at Auto Express. Ford admits to a Tesla Model S teardown. Ford CEO Mark Fields says that after disassembling, reassembling and driving the model S, his company is "very familiar with that product." He also says the Ford has the capability to build a similarly high-tech, long-range electric car. The questions still remains if Ford has plans for such a vehicle, but Fields says that it fits within Ford's "product philosophy." Read more at Business Insider and at USA Today.

J Mays retiring from Ford design, succeeded by Moray Callum

Ford's highly influential head of design, J Mays, has announced that he'll be retiring from his position after 33 years in the industry, 16 of which were at the Dearborn, MI-based company. Upon departure, he'll be succeeded as group vice president of design by Moray Callum. If that last name sounds familiar, yes, he's the brother of Jaguar's Ian Callum.
It's difficult to explain just how big of a role Mays had on not just Ford's design over the years, but on the entire industry. Before heading to Dearborn, Mays worked for Audi, BMW and then Volkswagen, where he was involved in concept cars that paved the way for design icons like the first-generation Audi TT and the Volkswagen New Beetle. As for his Ford resume, it's extensive.
Mays joined the company in 1997 as design director for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda, as well as the Premier Automotive Group (Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar and Aston Martin). He was heavily involved in the Ford Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, Taurus, F-150 and Mustang, while also contributing to concept cars like the Atlas, Evos, 427, Forty-Nine, Shelby GR-1, Lincoln MKZ and the MKC.
