Just arrived, this incredible car is an amazing build... Completed in 1995, it has been well preserved in Florida for the last 18 years... Originally a rust free, 390 V-8 car sold in California in 1963, this car was chosen for this build due to the quality of the body and frame. The 427 SOHC engine was purchased in 1991 as a 1966 Ford crate motor that was shipped to Holman & Moody for NASCAR race prep. We have the original paper engine tags... These motors along with the Chrysler Hemi's were banned to race by NASCAR, so it was never installed. This car was built over a two year period ending in 1995. The rust free body was stripped to bare metal and a rotisserie restoration completed. The paint on this car is show quality, looking like it was just completed. As the project was winding down, the owner ran short of funds to complete the car. A nice but lesser quality tweed interior was installed. An interior revamp in cream vinyl or leather would really complete this show car... something we can do or you can do... Fabulous dual stage Burgundy Metallic paint in show condition. Four bucket seat, console custom tweed interior in very nice condition. Perfect chrome and fiberglass tear drop hood. Everything is new or restored on this vehicle. New dash, door panels carpet & headliner. Completed trunk compartment... Equipped with a 1966 Ford 427 SOHC engine, producing 616HP at 7,000 RPM. The engine is set back eight inches to produce better weight distribution. Custom headers, dual quads, & eight quart oil pan. Four wheel disc brakes, 9 inch Ford rear end, powder coated frame, 308 gears. Ford to hack $4k off price of Focus EV amid slow sales
Wed, 10 Jul 2013Between slow sales and a hefty price drop for its nearest rival, the Ford Focus Electric may be looking at a pretty substantial price cut. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will drop the price of the all-electric by about $4,000 to $35,200 to be more competitive with the Nissan Leaf, which received a big price cut for 2013 down to $28,800.
Ford has already admitted to having low expectations for the car's sales and massive rebates were reported earlier in the year, but there is still no official word from Ford on this matter. The company's consumer site still lists the 2014 model's starting price as $39,200. In addition to the Leaf, the Focus Electric will also have to deal with the lower prices of smaller EVs including the Honda Fit EV, Fiat 500e and the Chevrolet Spark EV.

The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. 2020 Ford Explorer nabs IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating after updates
Mon, Sep 21 2020The 2020 Ford Explorer has been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the agency's best rating. The redesigned Explorer initially fell short of that mark, however, only making the grade after Ford introduced a running change to the vehicle's design starting in May 2020 — a change made to the 2020 Lincoln Aviator as well. To achieve a Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must have a Good performance rating in all six of the agency's crash tests. It also must have Acceptable or better ratings for all of its available headlamps and must earn Advanced or Superior ratings for its automated collision avoidance systems in tests of their performance against pedestrians and other vehicles. The 2020 Explorer initially achieved only an Acceptable performance in the IIHS's driver's-side small-overlap crash test, as the agency found a risk of injury to the driver's left foot due to intrusion into the footwell. Ford subsequently modified the design of the front subframe in a running change to Explorers and to Lincoln Aviators built after May 2020. The modified Explorer was re-tested, and this time the model achieved a Good performance in the driver's small-overlap test. That, combined with a Superior performance in both tests of the standard collision-avoidance system plus Acceptable ratings for both headlight systems, pushed the 2020 Explorer over the goal line to Top Safety Pick+. The Aviator, which shares the Explorer's platform, has received the same modification and achieves the same crashworthiness ratings. However, its standard headlights are judged Marginal, and therefore the 2020 Aviator achieves only the Top Safety Pick rating (even though its optional curve-adaptive LED headlights are judged Good).
