1965 Ford Galaxie LTD for auction! It is a very solid car, it has just a couple bubbles on the right rear quarter panel near the chrome wheel opening molding. The frame, floor pans, trunk floor is all 100% rock solid. It has a 289 rebuilt engine, with an aluminum intake and Edlebrock carb. Rebuilt transmission. It does NOT have a big cam or anything like that in it. It's pretty much a stock engine. It is NOT a race car but very driveable and has plenty of power. Runs and drives very well. New wheels, tires with 50% or more tread. All glass is good on it. Has dual exhaust as shown in pics. The paint job is nothing to write home about. It doesn't have a lot of shine to it, and near the gas cap door there is some checking. Overall, a really nice cruiser car. Very reliable. Has power steering and manual brakes. The console in it is not functional. It is just in there for looks. I don't really even know what it came out of. The car is a column shifter. It has bucket seats, it has seat covers on the seats because the drivers seat has a split in the seam. If someone painted this car it would be really nice. Call please with questions, do NOT text. Ask for Bill at 810-252-9194. Buy it now and reserve are the same. photo IMG_3229_zps54e242bd.jpg photo IMG_3228_zps9e21bbff.jpg photo IMG_3231_zps86482b1e.jpg photo IMG_3232_zps269e9373.jpg photo IMG_3227_zpse4853ede.jpg photo IMG_3226_zps92347f9f.jpg photo IMG_3225_zps07bbe255.jpg photo IMG_3224_zps05aacbe3.jpg photo IMG_3223_zps1a78e9f2.jpg photo IMG_3222_zps258b4a5f.jpg photo IMG_3221_zps0fea1787.jpg photo IMG_3220_zpsba7a7543.jpg photo IMG_3219_zpse259a2e8.jpg photo IMG_3218_zps68ceeac3.jpg photo IMG_3217_zpsc40f6d79.jpg photo IMG_3216_zpse2b46c91.jpg photo IMG_3215_zps0de99507.jpg photo IMG_3214_zpsd2357c35.jpg photo IMG_3213_zpse7e40349.jpg photo IMG_3212_zps3a7d7ff4.jpg photo IMG_3211_zps79582748.jpg photo IMG_3210_zpsc024fd84.jpg photo IMG_3210_zpsc024fd84.jpg photo IMG_3209_zpse68315a3.jpg photo IMG_3209_zpse68315a3.jpg photo IMG_3207_zpsce8d1f4f.jpg photo IMG_3206_zps72a6c302.jpg photo IMG_3204_zps4e0172d5.jpg photo IMG_3202_zpsa67119e8.jpg photo IMG_3201_zpsb75c140c.jpg photo IMG_3200_zps883141e4.jpg

Again? Ford issues second 2015 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ seat belt recall

Fri, Aug 16 2019

In 2016, Ford issued a recall for 603,392 2013-2016 Fusions and 2013-2015 Lincoln MKZs due to potentially faulty seat belts. Apparently, that wasn't the end of it. Ford announced another recall this week for the same issue, this time covering 108,399 2015 Fusions and MKZs.  In both cases, the seat belt anchor pretensioners are the issue. According to Ford, "increased temperatures generated during deployment of the driver or front-passenger seat belt anchor pretensioner could degrade the tensile strength of the cable below the level needed to restrain an occupant." Basically, heat could weaken the seat belts, and in extreme cases, they wouldn't be able to keep up proper safety standards. Ford knows of at least one injury that has occurred due to this issue.   The recall includes 103,374 vehicles in the United States, 4,002 in Canada, and 1,023 in Mexico. Possibly affected Fusions were built at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant between August 1, 2014 and January 30, 2015. The MKZs were built at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant between August 1, 2014 and November 21, 2014.  As a fix, Ford says dealers will add an extra coating to the seat belt pretensioner cable for protection from the heat. If this recall might affect your vehicle, call your local Ford dealership and use recall reference No. 19S25. This news comes after Ford recalled 1.3 million Fusions and MKZs in 2018 due to the possibility that the steering wheels could fall off. Fusions have also been recalled due to the risk of rolling away.

Ford opens 88 new dealerships in China in a single day

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

"Ford opened 88 dealerships in China last year." "Ford opened 88 dealerships in China during the first half of 2014." "Ford opened 88 dealerships in China last month." None of those statements - even the last one - would seem unbelievable. Saying "Ford opened up 88 dealerships in China last Thursday," though, is a bit more dramatic.
Yes, on June 19 alone, Ford opened the doors on nearly 100 showrooms in the People's Republic, boosting the Blue Oval's total presence in the country to 750 dealerships. Of course, while an overabundance of dealers in the US proved troublesome for American manufacturers back in 2008 and 2009, there's no such concern in China. Considering the country's huge population and the breakneck pace of the local auto industry, you could be forgiven for being surprised Ford only has 750 outlets at this stage.
What's notable about this most recent push, besides the sheer volume of new stores, is their location. Over three-quarters of the new dealerships are in so-called Tier 4 cities, which are smaller towns that still contain millions of people. This fits with Ford's strategy in China of avoiding the bigger battlegrounds that are already dominated by competitors and focusing on setting up shop in newer markets that may have been overlooked, according to Automotive News.

Chris Harris drives the 2015 Ford Mustang Over There

Thu, Jul 30 2015

Ford makes some cars for America, and some cars for overseas. Sometimes those models cross over the ocean in one direction or another, but the Mustang has historically been a pony car meant for America. That all changes with the new model, though. It's not that Ford didn't design the new Mustang for American customers – it's just that it also refined it for markets overseas that aren't quite used to the live-axle brutality to which muscle car enthusiasts in the US have grown accustomed. Now that the Mustang is being offered in Europe – and in the UK with right-hand drive – it was only a matter of time before Chris Harris got his hands on one. And that's just what he's done for this latest video clip, taking a Mustang GT for a spin on both road and track in Wales. That's right, Harris is piloting the V8 model, not the EcoBoost four. So what does he think about an American expat shipped to the British isles? You'll want to watch the ten-minute clip yourself to gather his full impressions. But the long and short of it is that, while Harris doesn't think it's quite the match for something like a BMW M3, the Mustang doesn't cost anywhere near as much as the Bimmer. And that goes a long way, especially with all that rubber laid down on the track in the process.
