1964 Ford Galaxie 500 for sale. Rebuilt 289 V8, original motor. Rebuilt transmission. New dual exhaust. Original interior in good shape. Very solid, rust-free car. No bondo! All the glass is good. The paint looks really nice but it is not a show quality paint job. I would say driver quality paint job. It has the factory rear fender skirts. The bumpers are straight as an arrow but the front bumper has some peeling. To make the bumper perfect it would need to be re-chromed. Same as rear. They're making reproduction bumpers now you can buy for this car. All the trim is just beautiful. No rust under the car. Frame is solid. A real solid car. Originally from the south (Tennessee). Runs & Drives great. Drive anywhere. Call me with questions, ask for Bill at 810-252-9194. Please don't text, I won't reply. Buy it now and reserve are the same. Call me though if you have a serious offer. photo 1_zpse3de8a07.jpg photo 3_zps50ed292e.jpg photo 2_zps77db8e09.jpg photo 7_zpscd633fd3.jpg photo 8_zpsd9976250.jpg photo 9_zps90e0cbfe.jpg photo 10_zps09d82936.jpg photo 4_zpsfe0d54a7.jpg photo 11_zpsbb15da22.jpg photo 12_zpse9f09928.jpg photo 14_zpsebbf4140.jpg photo IMG_0002_zpsebda278d.jpg photo IMG_0003_zpscd8bb795.jpg photo IMG_0004_zps9a099411.jpg photo IMG_0005_zps1b2fce3f.jpg photo IMG_0006_zpsad5ddb9c.jpg photo IMG_0007_zpsbf26b9d6.jpg photo 13_zps4600ad20.jpg photo IMG_0009_zps7f38f994.jpg photo IMG_0010_zps2781a9ea.jpg photo 5_zpse006960c.jpg photo 6_zps42244bc0.jpg photo IMG_0013_zpsddc0cecd.jpg photo IMG_0014_zps701ec097.jpg photo IMG_0015_zps5f6d346c.jpg photo IMG_0016_zps7d3ba577.jpg photo IMG_9965_zps79ea0657.jpg photo IMG_9966_zps8b02e23d.jpg photo IMG_9967_zps104c7fd9.jpg photo IMG_9968_zpsfc7e6f71.jpg photo IMG_9969_zps7830a943.jpg photo IMG_9970_zps10261fda.jpg photo IMG_9971_zpscbbbe0d2.jpg photo IMG_9972_zpsf99c9de0.jpg photo IMG_9973_zps3242de48.jpg photo IMG_9974_zps89826aeb.jpg photo IMG_9975_zps6c2d0ee1.jpg photo IMG_9976_zps92a8bc36.jpg photo IMG_9977_zps2dbd2bf0.jpg photo IMG_9978_zpsb1b0d079.jpg photo IMG_9979_zps894df18c.jpg photo IMG_9980_zps9dbe0c62.jpg photo IMG_9981_zps6067af43.jpg photo IMG_9982_zps2dee5ab4.jpg photo IMG_9983_zps04c7f007.jpg photo IMG_9984_zps325186e8.jpg photo IMG_9985_zpsfb066f75.jpg photo IMG_9986_zpsf3074208.jpg photo IMG_9987_zps6e6d7901.jpg photo IMG_9988_zps84c83939.jpg

This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like

Sat, 12 Oct 2013

Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.

Ford hit by lawsuit over hybrid technology from, surprise, Paice

Fri, Feb 28 2014

The name Paice will be familiar to anyone who's been deep in the weeds of hybrid history, but it will probably be new to anyone who simply drives one. The key part of the story is something called "HyperDrive," which is the name given to a gas-electric powertrain technology developed by Alex Severinsky and patented in 1994. HyperDrive is a way to get the energy from both the electric battery and the engine into the wheels, seamlessly. The patents are held by Paice, which is an unusual company (its HQ is a house in a retirement community, right by a golf course) that does nothing but litigate. You can read more on Paice here. The latest case targets Ford and the hybrid and plug-in versions of the C-Max and Fusion models as well as the Lincoln MKZ. Paice claims that it held "over 100 meetings and interactions with Ford" between 1999 and 2004, and gave the automaker, "detailed information about the hybrid technology that Paice had developed." The suit also alleges that: For more than five years, Paice answered inquiries from multiple departments within Ford, believing in good faith that a business relationship between Paice and Ford would be mutually beneficial and advance the acceptance of Paice's technology. ... After years of Ford learning the details of Paice's hybrid drivetrain technology, Ford elected not to enter into a business relationship with Paice. The suit is officially known as, "Paice LLC v. The Ford Motor Co., 14-492, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (Baltimore)" and you can read the PDF here. Ford told AutoblogGreen, "we do not comment on pending litigation." Toyota settled a similar patent-infringement case in 2010 and now pays Paice almost $100 for every hybrid it sells. Paice is still in court against Hyundai and Kia. In 2010, Ford also settled with Paice but they agreed to keep negotiating on other issues until at least January 1, 2014. With that date now in the past, it didn't take long for Paice to file papers to get the two sides back before a judge. That's where it appears to be most comfortable.

Peel and Ford Transit do a great Austin Powers impression

Tue, May 6 2014

It's no secret that the average fullsize cargo van is big. Like, really big. Expressing that size, though, without actually seeing the van in question, is a pretty tall order. When viewed from the right angle, even something as big as a cargo van can appear very small (look up forced perspective, to see what we mean). That's why it's always good to have a second object on hand, to provide a sense of scale. Ford took this simple idea to the extreme, illustrating the size of the new Ford Transit by pulling the world's smallest production car, the Peel P50, nose first into the van's 487-cubic-foot cargo area. That's no big deal, though, right? After all, at just 54 inches long and 39 inches wide, the Peel would fit quite happily in even the smallest fullsize truck bed. Ford takes it a step further, though. With the help of an actual reverse gear (we're guessing this is a CVT-equipped, electric model), the P50 manages to turn itself around and drive out. It does this in less than two minutes. So yeah, the Ford Transit is a pretty big van. Take a look below for the video from Ford. This content is hosted by a third party.
