This vehicle was purchased from an insurance auto auction.  It has frontal collision damage.  Many of the parts taken off the vehicle are inside the vehicle for future repairs.  Vehicle was torn down by body shop and it was decided to write it off as totaled.  Car is beautiful with only 84 miles on the odometer.  This vehicle has all of the standard options that come with the SE.  It also has the moonroof and reverse aid parking sensors.  There is no damage to the vehicle (scratches, dents broken glass, tears in seats, interior damage.  Car was not flooded, just in a frontal collision.  This vehicle sticker price is $26,080 new.  Many of the parts can be found for this car on car-part online for this car or are available at the ford dealerships, and there are some parts here on eBay. We have a roof airbag that is for this vehicle that we will include in this sale for the drivers side.   I have provided pictures of the vehicle with the damage.  The front intake on the engine is not damaged.  The frame rails are not damaged, there is a small crease in one on the corners where the four bolts attach for the front bumper reinforcement.  We are located in Hudsonville, MI 49426.  Vehicle is not driveable and would have to be towed.  This is not the turbo 1.6 or 2.0.  It is the 2.5 4 cylinder.  I will either sell it if the reserve is met or we will repair the vehicle.   If I were to make a parts list it would consist of but not be limited to,

Nuclear-powered concept cars from the Atomic Age

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

In the 1950s and early 60s, the dawn of nuclear power was supposed to lead to a limitless consumer culture, a world of flying cars and autonomous kitchens all powered by clean energy. In Europe, it offered the then-limping continent a cheap, inexhaustible supply of power after years of rationing and infrastructure damage brought on by two World Wars.
The development of nuclear-powered submarines and ships during the 1940s and 50s led car designers to begin conceptualizing atomic vehicles. Fueled by a consistent reaction, these cars would theoretically produce no harmful byproducts and rarely need to refuel. Combining these vehicles with the new interstate system presented amazing potential for American mobility.
But the fantasy soon faded. There were just too many problems with the realities of nuclear power. For starters, the powerplant would be too small to attain a reaction unless the car contained weapons-grade atomic materials. Doing so would mean every fender-bender could result in a minor nuclear holocaust. Additionally, many of the designers assumed a lightweight shielding material or even forcefields would eventually be invented (they still haven't) to protect passengers from harmful radiation. Analyses of the atomic car concept at the time determined that a 50-ton lead barrier would be necessary to prevent exposure.

Just in time for the holidays, Snowkhana 3 is here

Tue, Dec 9 2014

The gift list for the 12 Days of Christmas is frightfully heavy on birds, so surely no one will mind if we sub out the three French hens for Snowkhana 3. Ford of Europe is back with another stop-motion video that – like versions one and two – throws a 1:64-scale Ford Fiesta in Ken Block livery around a fabulous world of action figures and make believe. This year's video "drives rings around some of the biggest YouTube hits," so those of you who've lost years of your lives to the greatest distraction since the human navel can put your knowledge to use. For anyone else just catching up, we'll help you get rolling: the opening Snowkhana scene channels Stalking Cat. You'll find the rest of your holiday homework in the video.

Hertz goes Dutch with Ford Focus ST-H

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Want to take a performance car for a ride? Hertz can make that happen. Spin by your local rental location (depending, of course, on availability) and you can take out a Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, even a Corvette as part of the Adrenaline Collection. Hertz's Dream Cars lineup even includes Porsches and AMGs. But the really interesting stuff is what you can't get anywhere else: cars built specifically for Hertz.
Back in 1966, Hertz had Ford cook up a special run of Mustang GT350H models in back with gold stripes. It became an icon in and of itself, and in 2008 Hertz had a new batch of Shelby GT-Hs made. Earlier this year, Hertz contracted Penske to deliver another fleet of specially-built Mustangs you can rent. But if your travel plans include a trip to the Netherlands, Hertz has a completely different type of specially-prepared Ford on offer for you.
Back in August, Ford delivered a couple of Focus STs made specifically for Hertz in Holland. Now it's expanded that fleet even further. The Ford Focus ST-H features the same 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four (and everything else) as the standard Focus ST, but gets that signature black exterior with gold stripes and a black leather interior with Recaro buckets. So in case a trip to Amsterdam doesn't hold enough thrills, now you can throw a hot hatch into the mix as well. Scope out the press release (in Dutch - isn't that weird?) below.
