Selling a yellow 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 - going to college as freshman and can't have a car. I bought it as a first car from a women who kept it in pretty good condition because her daughters boyfriend was a NASCAR mechanic and worked on the car if there was a problem.
- The vehicle report shows two accidents that were reported by the previous owner - the repair estimate addresses the strut and engine mout/frame alignment in their estimate - I still drive it though.
- The back small triangle window on the passanger side is broken, but its covered over with duct tape.
- There needs to be a new tie rod replaced on the front
- There needs to be a replaced motor mount.
- Car can be driven but my parents won't let me.
I took the car to our local mechanic and have added the description of what they said needs to be fixed. Quotes have run from $600 - $2000 to fix and I don't have the money. Since I'm going to school and can't have a car, I have to sell it so I don't have to pay insurance on it. (I've uploaded a picture of that estimate as well - $1500 - but thats in Bernardsville NJ - which is always a rip - but it's my folks garage.)
paid $2700 for the car in Aug. 2012. It's valued on KBB at $3600 and I put over $800 into it with the tires and radio. So I have over $3500 invested.
Conditions of Sale:
- No Reserve - someone will win.
- Have to pick up within 5 days of auction close with auction win amount.
- Paypal in advance or cash at pickup
- Car is sold as is as stated.

FCA to pay buyers $1,700 to swap out of scandal-mired VWs
Tue, Oct 6 2015FCA is trying to gain some sales from arch-rival VW in the competitive European market by offering potential buyers in Italy up to $1,700 to swap into an FCA group car. While the promotion isn't specifically targeted at TDI owners affected by the emissions scandal, it is clearly intended to turn dissatisfaction with VW's defeat device cheat into additional sales, Bloomberg reports. The 500-1,500 euro incentive (roughly $560-1,700, depending on vehicle) stacks on top of any other rebates or deals applicable, and applies if a buyer brings in any of Volkswagen Group's cars – including Audi, Skoda, and SEAT, among (many) others. As Bloomberg notes, it's normal for automakers to offer "conquest" deals – giving a buyer cash for trading in a competitor's vehicle. Those deals aren't usually limited to one company's products, however; FCA's program looks specifically to take advantage of VW's legal and public relations nightmare. FCA isn't the only automaker trying this trick in Italy. Automotive News Europe also reported that Ford is offering approximately $840 in incentives across its entire range to owners of VW vehicles seeking to trade in for a Ford. No word of yet as to whether these incentives will spread beyond Italy or to other automakers.Related Video:
Least reliable cars and trucks of 2022
Tue, Nov 15 2022Related: Most reliable cars and trucks of 2022 Â Every year, Consumer Reports ranks new cars based on their predicted reliability. We often see Toyota, Lexus, and a few other automakers near the top. But on the other side of the coin, the list of least reliable vehicles sometimes contains surprises. Â The organization surveys its members to determine the vehicles that exhibited the most problems over the prior year. Owners are asked about creaks and rattles, the durability of parts and trim, and mechanical issues. Consumer Reports assigns a weight to each problem and then uses them to create a score, with 100 being the best. Some familiar names appear on the list of least reliable vehicles (in order with the lowest predicted reliability score at the top), but there are a few eyebrow-raising models, followed by CR's score: Ford F-150 Hybrid: 4 Hyundai Kona Electric: 5 Lincoln Aviator: 8 Nissan Sentra: 9 Ford Explorer: 16 Chevrolet Bolt: 17 Chevrolet Silverado 1500/GMC Sierra 1500: 19 Jeep Gladiator: 21 Mercedes-Benz GLE: 23 Jeep Wrangler: 24 Consumer Reports noted that sedans are the most reliable vehicle category and found that trucks are far lower on the list. That said, the survey showed that trucks from American brands tended to have better reliability scores, so it’s surprising to see GMÂ’s big two and the Ford F-150 on the list. Part of their problematic ownership experience could be due to the fact that all three trucks have received recent updates, and the Ford was completely redesigned for 2022. New tech, fresh drivetrain components, and other improvements can upset the balance of reliability and make newer models look less dependable than their older counterparts.
