Up for auction is my 2011 Ford Fiesta with a 5 speed manual transmission. I purchased the car used in October 2011 with about 15,000 miles on it. Two years later I have a little over 41,000 miles on it. I still drive it so the miles will increase however I don't drive any near the mileage I did in the past.
The car is up to date on all services and had a recall done last year in October. There are no open issues that I'm aware of. I am very conscientious when it comes to vehicle maintenance. All the services are done at the dealer recommended intervals plus I keep the car clean. This car has never been in an accident and has never been smoked in.
The car has 7/70 drivetrain warranty. I will verify that this is transferable on my next service visit. I'll probably end up changing the oil by the time the auction ends. All the service work was done by my local Ford dealer, I always had the works done which includes a tire rotation. On the last oil change which was around 39,000 miles the tire tread depth was 6/32 and the brakes were 3/32. There is still some good life left in those parts. There are no issues with the car. Everything works as it should.
Two details I would like to point out. On November 17th 2011 I had a new rear bumper cover put on. I have the body shop repair order & can fax it to you on request. The total repair was $583.71. This was done because I was bumped in the back by a car that had a lag bolt sticking out of it's bumper & it poked a hole in my bumper. The body shop did an excellent job matching the paint. The second item is I had the 5th gear gasket changed at about 38,000 miles. There was a small leak that I only noticed because I park in the same spot every day. It's all good now.
I used to work downtown Chicago and used this car for commuting. Now I work from home so the car sits around a lot. Kelly Blue Book private party values puts this car over $12,000 in excellent condition and over $11,600 in very good condition and over $11,200 in good condition. My reserve is lower than good condition. I think this car would easily qualify as very good condition.
This car has key-less ignition (push button start), heated front seats, Bluetooth, Sirius Radio and Ford Sync. If you need any other information, pictures or want to see the car in person send me a message. I'll try to get you the required information as soon as I can.
The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and finding a shipper. I am willing to help out with shipping. O'Hare, Midway and Gary airports are all close so I can deliver the car to the airport. Depending on how far the car needs to go I might be willing to put it on my trailer and bring it to you. We can work that out via emails. If you live some place I've been wanting to go I might drive further. Other than that shipping is your responsibility.
Good Luck in your search & thanks for viewing my auction.

And the Top Gear UK Cars of the Year for 2013 are...
Tue, 17 Dec 2013Those loony Brits at Top Gear have named their Car of the Year, and if you're thinking it's the McLaren P1, Jaguar F-Type, Land Rover Range Rover Sport or Rolls-Royce Wraith, we're sorry to inform you that none of those Anglo automobiles earned the crown. In fact, the winner of Top Gear's most prestigious award is quite the surprise.
Of course, those cars weren't without their own awards. The P1 was the top hypercar (sorry, Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari), while the F-Type netted best convertible and the Range Rover Sport was voted SUV of the Year. Other honorable mentions included the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black and S-Class, the Porsche 911 GT3, the BMW i3 and the Ferrari 458 Speciale. The winner, though, wasn't even a high-dollar supercar. It was the Ford Fiesta ST.
Yes, the Fiesta ST beat out some off-the-wall cars like the revolutionary Volkswagen XL1 and the bonkers Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, not to mention all the cars we listed above, to take the title of Top Gear Car of the Year. And if you've driven one, you'll completely understand why.
Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]
Mon, 08 Jul 2013It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
Xcar gets the scoop on Ford's strategy for the GT at Le Mans in 2016
Fri, Jul 3 2015Ford's plan to return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 with the latest GT might have been one of the worst kept secrets in motorsports in recently memory. Even before the road car debuted at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, rumors were flying about the Blue Oval's strategy. The wait for the official announcement just before this year's race was certainly a long one, but it was probably worthwhile just to see the competition version's spectacular looks. Xcar recently got the chance to interview Ford about the company's objectives for the new racer's development. Both the GT racing and street programs are meant as ways to advance cutting-edge technology and potentially let it trickle down to less-expensive models in the future. This is especially the case when it comes to finding ways to make carbon fiber cheaper and better. Of course, the supercar is also a showcase of what Ford can do competitively, and apparently there are patent-pending suspension parts the company isn't even talking about yet. Ford would love to score a class victory at Le Mans next year, and is pretty clear here and in its earlier promo video that it sees Ferrari as a major rival in the race. While that makes sense historically, the cross-town competitors at Corvette could be an even bigger challenger. That squad has a more recent legacy of success in the 24-hour challenge, including a victory in the GTE-Pro class this year. Related Video:
