1967 FORD FALCON SPORT COUPE You are looking at a 1967 Ford Falcon Sport Coupe (factory 289 Car) Project. I purchased this car in 2009 with the intentions of restoring it, as you can see it still needs some work. This car was produced in the Kansas City plant and sent to Phoenix Arizona, where it stayed until 2008. When I got the car it was 99% rust free. It had a spot of rust the size of a quarter on passenger floor and it's fair share of dents and dings. I had a local body shop strip it down, make all the repairs, and repaint it 69 Mustang Black Jade Metallic. I purchased and installed an entire front suspension package from Laurel Mountain Mustang, and a disc brake conversion from Scare Bird Industries (still needs calipers). The 289 had been removed before I got the car, so I purchased a low mileage rebuilt 69 351 Windsor from a wrecked Mercury Cougar which comes with the car. I do have the original c4 but it is in pieces. I have the original bucket seats as well as a bench seat, but all of the interior will need to be redone. Car has original 8 inch rear and and I also have a rebuildable 9 inch. I took all of the metal trim ( I do not have the side mouldings) to a shop to be straightened and refinished about 2 weeks ago and should have everything back by the 1st of November. Therefore if you purchase the car I will take $1000.00 off the final price and you can pay me the rest when I get it back. This car has a lot of potential, but I really don't have the time and would like to have my garage back. Most of the hard and expensive work has already been done. The starting bid is the reserve, and is about half of what I have in it. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, or if you would like set up a time to to look at it. $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours with balance due upon pick up |

Amazon is showcasing its big push into cars and transportation at CES
Mon, Jan 6 2020From making cars talk using Alexa's voice to managing data from factories full of robots, Amazon wants a big piece of the action in transportation, and next week at CES will unveil more about its strategy to achieve that goal than ever before. The Seattle retail and cloud services powerhouse plans to use the annual technology show in Las Vegas to unveil its plan to be a major player in self-driving vehicle technology, connected cars, electric vehicles and management of the torrents of data generated by automakers and drivers, company executives told Reuters. Amazon Web Services, which provides large-scale cloud computing and data management services, is central to Amazon's strategy. "We really are extending ourselves more and more out in the ecosystem from manufacturing to connected car," Jon Allen, head of professional services in Amazon Web Services' automotive practice, said in a telephone interview. "The takeaway message on this is if you go to CES this year we really are taking it as a 'One Amazon' view." Until now, Amazon has shown its transportation strategy to investors — and rivals — one piece at a time. Amazon has invested in self-driving software startup Aurora. It also has signed deals with automakers to deliver packages to vehicle trunks, help develop electric vehicle charging networks and use AWS to network their factories. The Seattle company will share the CES stage with partners such as virtual reality firm ZeroLight, electric vehicle startup Rivian, Canada's BlackBerry Ltd and video game software development company Unity Technologies. "It's our attempt to weave everything together in a single experience for our customers," Dean Phillips, AWS' automotive technical leader, told Reuters. "Customers don't distinguish AWS from Alexa from Amazon.com. It's Amazon."  Related: As GM readies Alexa convenience for vehicles, we ponder its dark side  At CES, ZeroLight and GM's Cadillac will demonstrate how they are partnering to develop an online vehicle configuration experience that will allow high-fidelity images of vehicles that consumers build online to be taken with them on visits to dealers, Phillips said. The process can open the door to dealers better meeting customer needs by knowing what users focused on when building their dream car. It has already boosted profit per vehicle at Volkswagen's Audi brand by an estimated 1,200 euros ($1,340), he said.
Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
This is what a 3D-printed liquid metal Ford Torino looks like
Sat, 12 Oct 2013Artist Ioan Florea has encapsulated a 1971 Ford Torino with 3-D-printed liquid metal transferred onto the car using technology that he developed, and the result is a stunningly shiny, seamless design.
"The surface has the highest coefficient of reflectivity never achieved before," Florea told us in an e-mail, using "nano-materials and nano-pigments that create an internal three-dimensional structure and dictate the polymer how to behave." Sure... We'll leave it to him to make any more 3-D-printed liquid metal-transferred art pieces.
Florea grew up in Romania, and the motivation behind picking the old Ford as his canvas came from his childhood memories of what an American car is - "big and wide and fascinating," he says - and the European name of the car itself, which it shares with an Italian city.
