 1963 1/2 FORD FALCON FUTURA V8 HARDTOP

BARN FIND GASSER!

RARE 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon Futura V8 Hardtop Barn Find Gasser with 1969 Shelby Mustang Wheels, Extra Set of Scarce Revolution Racing Wheels, and High Performance 351W & C6 Transmission. This car was brought back to Connecticut over 10 years ago from Washington state and has been stored away since. It was said to have been a very fast street/strip car in it's day powered by a Cobra 289. The 1963 1/2 Falcon Futura V8 was the very first Falcon to feature Ford's new 260ci V8, and comparatively few of these were produced in the second half of 1963. This is the very car that the 1964 1/2 Mustang was based off. The 63's are arguably the best looking year as well, with their fastback design mimicking the larger '63 Galaxies. The car is very solid throughout, with only a little rust in the typical spot under the driver's feet. The rocker panels are solid, as well as the underside of the doors. The trunk is also excellent with no rust to speak of. Underneath is clean with good subrails and mounts. The rear wheel wells were radiused and flared slightly, and some filler appears to have been used here. The car was fitted with a 9 inch rear end long ago. The original headers and Hurst shifter the car ran are included, still in the trunk where we found them. The interior is in good shape overall, with a clean and complete dashboard, good door panels, and the rear seat is nice. The original headliner is even intact. The front seats are old metal flake and white vinyl gasser seats that are in very good shape as well (not bolted in). Old racing steering wheel and gauges are there, as well as the desirable factory center console. All the glass is original and intact, no cracks. The paint is old lacquer from the 60's/70's and has chips and touch ups but looks cool if you're going after that old hot rod patina look. All the trim and chrome is there and looks good. There is one small dent on the passenger's rear quarter under the belt moulding. The car is currently sitting on rare original 1969/70 Shelby Mustang wheels. They are all in very good condition and are quite valuable in themselves. Also included are a rare set of English made Revolution Wheels (15x8" front, 15x10" rear). These wheels are very rare to see in any American 5 lug pattern. They were on the car when we found it, however they seemed to rub a little in the front so we put the Shelby wheels on. The original vin number is stamped on the inner driver's side front fender and identifies the car as a 1963 Falcon Futura Hardtop, V8 260ci car. The driver's side door looks to have been replaced very long ago, and accordingly the door data tag does not match. Also included with the car is a late model 351 Windsor that has Hi-Po heads installed, a mild racing cam (low end torque), and aluminum 4 bbl intake. The engine probably has 70K miles and ran very strong with plenty of power. It's bolted to a rebuilt C6 auto that has only about 10K miles. It would certainly be a nice drop in package for this car. The car is sold on a Connecticut bill of sale only, there is no title. If you're state requires a title, you will need to go through one of the various classic car titling companies that are out there. We will not be held responsible for providing you with a title. Overall this is a very solid and complete car that would be easy to finish off and put back on the street. The 63 1/2 Falcons are pretty scarce and unusual, making this a fun and worthwhile hot rod/gasser project! Call 860-575-8998 anytime (cell) or 860-873-1092 in the evenings.

Watch Tanner Foust hustle the Fiesta ST 'round the 'Ring

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The last time we saw Tanner Foust at the Nürburgring he was sloshing an SVT Raptor from kerb to kerb. Sticking with Ford but swapping keys, this time the drift champion and Top Gear USA host goes to the opposite end of the manufacturer's tuner garage and plucks a Fiesta ST for 'Ring duty.
The 179-horsepower front-wheel-driver acquits itself well by the end of the video. But be warned, Foust doesn't set a 'Ring time and it's shot like a commercial... because that's what it is. Still, you can enjoy all two minutes and 31 seconds of it below.

Ford Mustang SVT caught looking fierce on the 'Ring

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

The next-generation Ford Mustang SVT is one of the most anticipated performance cars of the moment. We've already seen it testing multiple times, but it has always been covered is some very heavy camouflage. However, Ford has just given us our best view yet of the new muscle car. According to our spy photographer, the Mustang was at the Nürburgring for high-speed testing, which meant that the Blue Oval had to remove most of the heavy obfuscation that the SVT has worn previously.
The stylish, more revealing camo makes picking out some of the more interesting details about the SVT rather easy. Starting from the front, there is the big hood scoop to feed cold air to its still mysterious engine. You can also immediately make out the model's new grille and lower front air dam. It has a vertical piece running from the bottom of the hood all the way to the ground. The aggressive styling almost gives the 'Stang the look of two fangs ready to bite down. The hood seam is even taped off here, which shows us its outline.
Around the side, it appears that the front and rear fenders are wider than stock, and the sills are certainly much larger. You can also just make out the SVT's bigger brakes behind its black wheels with a polished lip. Finally, at the rear, things appear mostly stock other than the diffuser that the exhaust outlets nestle into.
