What you're bidding on is probably the 'cutest' car I own, yet unfortunately the most expendable.

This 62 Falcon is the perfect starter-car for jr. car guys, or someone who just loves the body style and likes cruising with the six cylinder fuel economy.

Sheetmetal/Structure
The shock towers are solid - which is where all Ford guys check first. The front clip is solid. Floors have some superficial holes that have been cut out, and I will weld them in prior to anyone inspecting or purchasing car. Everything structural is sound. Floor is otherwise pretty solid. There's some bubbling on the bottoms of the quarters. Deck lid, trunk area, gas tank, etc, are all in good condition.

Exterior
Body is semi-straight and semi-solid. The passenger door has a crease on the edge and the paint is doing the normal lacquer bubble all over the car. It appears to be grabber blue with the original blue peaking through on the deck lid. Grille is complete, no damage. Bumpers have some pitting, but still shine up some.

Glass is all there, some clouding on the back window.

Interior is a... well, I've straightened it out from the mess. The back seat is out of a later falcon, but it fits, and the front buckets look like minivan seats. It has an automatic shifter out of a Granada or Fox body. Someone tried to recover the door panels, but they're fairly straight and not stained or scuzzy. Needs headliner for sure. Also, I've got a brand new ACC rubber floor mat (carpet delete) and matching black wal-mart seat covers to match .

Mechanically - ran great when before parked. brakes are new, previous owner ran new lines, later 6 cylinder has electric ignition, idles smooth. Carb needs rebuilt and I will throw a kit in it before it leaves. Oh, I bought two new tires for it in 2008 before I parked it. they'd have like 7 miles on them.

Like I said, it's no show car, but it's an easy project, no damage anywhere . Just tune it up and go.

Leno chooses his top 10 Mustangs

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

He may be a few months late to the party, but in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Jay Leno has delivered a short video in which he runs down which of the Blue Oval's pony cars from the past 50 years are his favorites.
The list is pretty darn similar to our own, with some of the big names from the Mustang's half century making an appearance, while there are three or four cars here that we think you'll be pretty surprised by.
Take a look below for this short video from Jay Leno's Garage.

Get a taste of Ford GT ownership from Dust Devils

Thu, Jan 1 2015

It seems that the automotive world might be right on the cusp of getting some kind of follow-up to the Ford GT. It might not be called the GT or even use the coupe's retro look, but rumors point to such a beast being on the way. If the future halo model can inspire as much adoration among fans as the previous ones, then the Blue Oval is sure to have another winner on its hands. To get idea just how closely GT owners are bonded to their cars, take a ride with the participants in the ninth Ford GT National Rally in this short documentary titled Dust Devils. The owners convened with over 80 of the retro supercars in Las Vegas, NV, to admire the coupes and give them a workout on the desert roads. It's especially nice to see the drivers of these limited production Fords unafraid to take their cars to the track and stretch their legs a little. The long, low-slung look is simultaneously menacing and lithe, and the growl from the latest model's supercharged V8 is nothing to complain about either. Get just the slightest taste of what it's like to have one of these halo Fords in this clip, from the people that love them the most.
