1968 ford fairlane 500 convertible, 289 v8, C4 trans, runs and drives good, shifts excellent, numbers matching vehicle, all chrome and glass in excellent condition, solid body all the way around the car as seen in pictures nothing hidden, trunk, floors, rails, frame, all solid, interior is in excellent shape not missing anything major seats are in good shape, door skins in good shape, dash in good shape, weather strips in ok shape, convertible top is in decent shape not pristine but presentable. dash reads 05300+ miles, dual exhaust, weiland intake, 4 barrel carb, ford chrome valve covers, drivetrain all stock except for whats mentioned, paint is in good shape, very nice cruiser for the money any other questions or specific pictures just let me know. I have look around on google and could not find any ford fairlanes with the 289 package so I would suspect there are not many left that came from the factory early as the majority have the 302 engine just a side not, Also I have not seen many with the ram air option either so those 2 options I think make the car kind of different and unique at least in my novice opinion. comes with convertible top shroud and car cover also. good rally spare, original jack etc. You can text me for more pictures or text questions 810-282-4753 (Reasonable will take this beauty)

Ford reports 58% drop in Q2 profits on European losses

Ford Motor Company announced Wednesday that it has posted a $1 billion profit for the second quarter of 2012. That sounds like good news for the Blue Oval, until you take into account that Ford posted a $2.4 billion profit for Q2 a year ago. That is a substantial 58 percent loss.
Ford also posted $465 million in international losses, with $404 million of those losses coming directly from Europe. The automaker also increased its European loss projections to $1 billion for 2012, due in large part to the economic crisis overseas, which has resulted in increased unemployment and decreased consumer confidence.
Ford to auction Mustang Cobra Jet prototype for charity [w/video]
Mon, 16 Sep 2013Prototypes developed by major automakers typically remain in said company's custody, but every once in a while, one trickles out into private hands. And that's just what we have here. Ford is donating a one-of-a-kind factory prototype for the 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet that will be auctioned off later this month by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 mated to a T4 competition gearbox, this rare Cobra Jet prototype includes a wheelie bar, chromoly roll cage, Weld wheels, three-link rear suspension, racing brakes, 9-inch rear axle and more. It's painted in a unique satin orange with reflective gray striping scheme, bears the serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1 and is fully ready for NHRA competition on the drag strip.
To be offered with no reserve on Saturday, September 28, 2013, the Cobra Jet prototype's winning bidder will also receive tutelage at Roy Hill's Drag Racing School in Sophia, NC, along with tours of the Ford Product Development Center, Ford Racing headquarters and Ford Design Studios with Mustang chief engineer Dave Pericak.
