1967 Ford Fairlane 500xl 6.4l on 2040-cars
Hayden, Idaho, United States
|
This is a 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA ALL ORIGINAL with 83,000
ORIGINAL miles. Never been restored and all NUMBERS MATCHING. This car was
rarely driven and spent its whole life in a heated garage. This car is straight
from the show room floor! This is a rare car being that it is a GTA rather than
a GT. It came with the C6 Automatic, when most GT Fairlane’s came in manual.
Let me give you a little information about the car by decoding the VIN. This car has a paint code (6), which is light beige. This
car has the ORIGINAL FACTORY paint job. Never restored, never repainted. No
chips or cracks in the paint. Car was always stored indoors. Its date produced was November 30th 1967. So this
is a late year Fairlane bought right before the 1968 model was released. Its axel (D) is a 3.25 to 1 gear ratio locking axel. All
original. Engine is the (S) code 390 C.I.D. 4v V8 with original
factory 4 barrel carburetor. Engine was rebuilt at 60,000 miles and it is bone
stock. Original manifold and vintage chrome ford racing head covers. This
numbers matching car only has 83,000 ORIGINAL miles. Very loud and very fast! Body (63D) is a 500 GT 2-Door Hardtop GT. This car has ZERO
rust neither body rot nor surface rust. Started out a Nevada car and ended up
in Spokane, Washington. ZERO bondo and ZERO sheet metal replacement. Its “Trim” (8A) includes all ORIGINAL charcoal black
interior that has never been reupholstered, original factory vinyl. ORIGINAL
charcoal black vinyl top that has also never been replaced or repaired and
Original from the factory as well. No sun fading either. And original never
replaced Rosette trunk pattern. Its DSO or regional dealership is San Jose, California (72). Its transmission
is the C-6 automatic (U), which puts the “A” in the model GTA. Numbers matching
on the transmission too. This car as assembled in Kansas City, Missouri (K). This car may seem too good to be true, but it is not. This
car is the real deal. All original, never restored. This car is as if it was
driven off the show room floor in late 1967 and stuck in a garage since. BY THE
WAY did I mention that this is a factory AC car? It has the original working
air conditioning unit. Has a clock on the dash but that is all in there but
needs to be fixed as it does not work. Has original AM stereo in the car with
factory speakers. The pictures say a lot about the car. This car has no leaks
or cracks. Very straight body. I am sure you can find pencil point nicks in the
paint if you look really hard here and there but this is a 46 year old car. Original
rims as well. Also very unique hood turn signal indicators. This car has so
much to tell and I could go on and on. Being a Ford man, having the Fairlane, a
1970 Torino GT, a 1968 Cougar, a 1967 Ford Mustang and others, I know my Ford’s
and this is a great car. This car is priced from $27,000 to $32,000 in excellent
condition. This car is all original. Never restored, and is probably at the
upper range of the price range. And to be honest NADA and Hagerty really don’t
add up the whole package like original paint and AC etc. I am asking $30,000
OBO and willing to entertain ALL offers. I don’t really need the money and will
take the time to sell this car to the right owner. This is “turnkey” car and
needs nothing done to it. My number is 1-208-819-6803. Please feel free to call
or text me at any time. I will hear all offers but I am not really interested
in trades. I am located in Hayden, Idaho which is about 40 miles from Spokane
Washington, and I can set up an appointment to see the car in person. For out
of state buyers I will ship but at the buyers expense. Willing to do anything
to make owning this car an easy possibility. Thanks for your time, Tanner Cox. On Oct-05-13 at 00:02:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: does have a two inch crack on the dash. Not pictured. On Oct-06-13 at 14:11:40 PDT, seller added the following information: note: vehicle also has factory front disc breaks with drums on rear. note: vehicles drivers seat has a small 1 1/2 inch section on upper drivers seat that has come unstitched. Pictured. On Oct-07-13 at 18:06:23 PDT, seller added the following information: If anyone would like a video of the car running or some more pictures just give me a call or text with you email or message me on ebay. Thanks 208-819-6803 Willing to sell internationally. Message offers I am willing to hear all offers. I have the right to end auction early if car sells. Also selling car locally via craigslist. |

William Clay Ford Sr. dead at 88
Sun, 09 Mar 2014William Clay Ford, retired vice chairman of Ford Motor Company and the last surviving grandchild of company founder Henry Ford, died this morning after a bout with pneumonia. He was 88.
Ford spent 57 years with his grandfather's company, joining the board of directors in 1948 before graduating from college. Ford also held a position as chairman of the design committee, as well as the chairman of the executive committee and vice chairman of the Board of Directors during his tenure with the company. In a 2013 Detroit Free Press story, retired CFO Allan Gilmour said Ford had an eye for design, and was once able to pick out when a fiberglass model of a Ford Contour was asymmetrical, off by an inch on one side. He retired and assumed the position of director emeritus in 2005.
"My father was a great business leader and humanitarian who dedicated his life to the company and the community," said Bill Ford, Jr., Ford's current executive chairman. "He also was a wonderful family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, yet he will continue to inspire us all."
Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage
Mon, 17 Mar 2014There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
