I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK A COUPLE YEARS AGO WITH THE INTENT OF BUILDING A CLEAN AND RELIABLE BACK-UP VEHICLE FOR MY LANDSCAPING COMPANY.  I HAVE PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO IT.  THE TRUCK RUNS STRONG AND HAS ALWAYS STARTED AND RUN WELL FOR ME.  IT HAS LESS THAN 500 MILES ON IT SINCE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILD.  I AM SELLING BECAUSE I AM NOW OUT OF THE LANDSCAPING INDUSTRY DUE TO HEALTH PROBLEMS.  AS THEY SAY, MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN.  **AT SOME POINT THE ODOMETER STOPPED WORKING- IT ONLY GOES TO 100K AND IT CURRENTLY READS "14,824".**  I USED MY IPHONE FOR A SPEEDOMETER AND HADN'T GOTTEN AROUND TO FIXING IT BEFORE I DECIDED TO SELL IT.

THERE ARE A LOT OF DETAILS LISTED IN THE CONDITION ABOVE.  I HAVE THE RECEIPT FROM THE TRANSMISSION/ CLUTCH/ FLYWHEEL/ U-JOINTS REBUILD/ REPLACEMENT.  ($4463.12) I HAD $1000 WORTH OF WORK DONE TO THE FRONT SUSPENSION.  I HAVE TONS OF TIME AND MONEY INTO THE BODY.  OLD RUST WAS CUT OUT, NEW ROCKERS, CAB CORNERS, FLOOR PANS, ETC. WELDED IN, TREATED AREAS WITH RUST NEUTRALIZER "POR 15", NEW BODY MOULDING AND ROCK GUARD/ BEDLINER AROUND THE BASE OF CAB.

I USED THE TRUCK TO HAUL SKIDS OF SALT TO A CONDOMINIUM CLIENT I HAD 2 WINTERS AGO AND IT WORKED WELL.  I WAS EASILY ABLE TO LOAD 4,000 LBS OF SALT ON PALLETS AND DRIVE SAFELY.  THE TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN PLOWED WITH SINCE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILD- NOT 1 TIME.  I PUT THE PLOW  ON ONLY AS A BACK UP AND IT WAS NEVER NEEDED.  PLOW HARNESS WAS NEW 2 SEASONS AGO.  THE PLOW IS APPROXIMATELY 9'.  THE PLOW MOUNT IS A HYBRID. THE COMPANY I BOUGHT THE TRUCK OFF OF USED IT AS A BACK-UP BUT THEY USED WESTIN.  I HAD HINIKER SO I WELDED THE NEEDED PIECES TOGETHER FOR THE NEW MOUNT.  I DROVE THIS TRUCK APPROX 250 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN I MOVED LAST YEAR (WITH PLOW AND TRAILER) AND IT RAN STRONG, NO PROBLEMS.  RECOMMEND INSPECTING PLOW MOUNT TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE SATISFIED, ETC. PHOTO INCLUDED.

I DID USE IT TO DELIVER APPROXIMATELY 5 LOADS OF MULCH LAST YEAR.  I DROVE IT AN AVERAGE OF 1X PER MONTH SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT.  I DID NOT RUN IT LAST WINTER AT ALL.  I WENT OUT TO START IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP ON THE FIRST CRANK.  I DID NOT EVEN NEED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY.

THE TRUCK RAN GOOD WHEN I PURCHASED IT BUT I BEGAN REPLACING THE COMPONENTS THAT I DIDN'T WANT TO REPLACE WHEN IT WAS 5 BELOW OR 95 IN THE SHADE.  I HATE TO SELL IT BECAUSE OF THE MONEY (NOT TO MENTION TIME) THAT I HAVE PUT INTO IT.  HOWEVER,  I WOULD RATHER SOMEONE ELSE GET TO USE IT THAN HAVE IT SIT AT MY HOUSE.

THIS IS NOT A SHOW TRUCK BUT IS A PRESENTABLE WORK TRUCK.  I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC OR BODY MAN.  I AM SURE THAT I HAVE INADVERTENTLY FORGOTTEN TO MENTION SOME THINGS.  FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME TO LOOK AT THIS TRUCK IN PERSON.

I WANT YOU TO BID ON WHAT IT IS AND NOTHING ELSE.  TRUCK SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS.  I AM NOT OFFERING A WARRANTY AT THIS TIME.

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.

Ford's new Focus RS hatches hot and heads for America

Tue, Feb 3 2015

The hot hatch market is heating up, and heating up fast. What you see here is Ford's new challenger for pocket-rocket supremacy, the third iteration of the breed and the 30th model to wear the Rallye Sport designation. But perhaps best of all, it will be the first time Ford will offer a new Focus RS in America. Following yesterday's leak, the latest Ford Focus RS is now ready to step out into the light and light up its tires. Answering the call is the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four as you'd find in the new Mustang, but upgraded with a new low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger, larger compressor and intercooler, freer-flowing intake, large-bore dual-pipe exhaust with electronically controlled valve and upgraded internal components. The result is a 6,500-rpm redline (closer to that of Ford's atmospheric performance engines) and an output quoted as "well in excess of 315 horsepower" – which is already 5 more than the EcoBoost Mustang and a good 63 more than the existing Focus ST. Power is transmitted to the tarmac through a new performance-focused all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring that can send as much as 70 percent of available twist to the rear wheels (and as much as 100 percent between them). The system works in tandem with the brake-based torque vectoring system and stability control, and will even divert torque to the outside rear wheel under cornering to keep it flat and under control while reducing understeer. Those still suspicious of dual-clutch gearboxes will also be pleased to read that Ford has stuck with a conventional six-speed manual. We'll reserve judgement on the inclusion of the electric power steering until we get a chance to drive it, though. Of course the small team of global Ford Performance engineers who developed the new Focus RS – and the Gymkhana legend Ken Block who consulted on the project – didn't just tinker with the powertrain and leave it at that. The suspension features stiffer spring rates, bushings and anti-roll bars than the Focus ST, augmented by two-mode switchable dampers. 19-inch alloys wear Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber, with optional Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slicks for track-day enthusiasts. Ford has yet to detail the brakes on its new hot hatch, but you can bet they've been upgraded as well.

2015 Shelby GT350 Mustang sounds racy as it revs [UPDATE]

Thu, May 21 2015

UPDATE: It seems as though the GT350 exhaust was just too hot for YouTube. The video has been removed, as you can see. We'll keep combing the Interwebs for a new version. If you're somehow still on the fence about the 2015 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang, then this video should provide some healthy encouragement about the new coupe. There's no high-speed action here, but you get to experience the wonderful sound of the GT350's 5.2-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft start up, idle and throw some revs. At a twist of the key, the engine barks to attention, and a wonderfully crisp shriek comes from the exhaust when the driver blips the throttle. The GT350 even has a growly baritone at idle. According to the YouTube description, this car was on hand at the Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show in Gardena, CA. Unfortunately, videos online might be the best chance for many people to hear the wail of the latest GT350 for now. Ford is only building a total of 137 of them for the 2015 model year, but the numbers should pick up when the 2016 model year begins in just a few months.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
