Selling my 2004 Ford F350 Diesel.  Bought used in April 2007 from a local here in Huntington Beach.  This was my personal truck until October 2012 when I bought a new F250.  Since then it has been owned by the company I own, and used for shop errands, etc.  It's way too much truck for that use long term so I am selling it.  It's in great shape, and just serviced/given a clean bill of health by Huntington Beach Ford.  Receipts from the day I bought it to the present are included.  I just spent about $2700 on it for various little issues, again, receipts included.

The truck is in great shape inside and out, with only a small ding on the passenger side bed fender, and a very small tear in the driver's seat.  I had the hood repainted last year because the clear coat started to fail.  The truck has an upgraded Kenwood navigation/DVD unit, with upgraded speakers and amplifier.  The track also has an Edge tuner installed that not only provides different tune levels but also acts as an aftermarket gauge unit that reads out 4 different user-programmable parameters - I currently have it displaying turbo boost, oil temp, water temp, and trans temp.  A few years back the oil cooler failed which I was able to see in the temps on the Edge unit - the factory gauges showed all was well.  The tech who replaced to oil cooler stated that seeing this as early as I did because of the Edge unit probably saved the motor.

The truck runs and drives excellent.  I am pretty particular about how my vehicles are cared for and this truck shows that, as the the large file of receipts.

Clear title is in hand.  Payment via cash or certified check only.  No personal checks.

Ford 1.0L takes third-straight International Engine of the Year award

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost is proving to be The Little Engine That Could, and it continues to acquit itself well, finding favor as one of the best powerplants in the world. To confirm it yet again, the tiny mill just won the International Engine of the Year award for the third year in a row, likewise also nabbing the title in the Sub 1.0-liter category.
Packing 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque with overboost (125 lb-ft normally), the tiny engine combines impressive power in a size small enough to be a carry-on item for a commercial flight. US buyers only got a taste of the award winner in the 2014 Fiesta, while the 1.0 EcoBoost has been available throughout the Ford lineup in Europe for a few years now. American sales have reportedly been strong, however, and next up in the US, the mill will find its way into the 2015 Focus.
The panel of 82 jury members from 34 countries also named the Mercedes-AMG 2.0-liter turbo found in the A45, CLA45 and GLA45 AMG models with 355 hp and 332 lb-ft as the best New Engine for 2014. The electric powertrain from Tesla won Green Engine prize, and the 4.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia took home the honor of top Performance Engine yet again. You can check out all the winners below, and scroll down further to read Ford's celebratory announcement of its award.

Ford Explorer problems gutted third-quarter sales

Tue, Oct 22 2019

In early September, the Detroit Free Press published a feature noting numerous problems Ford's having with the 2020 Explorer and 2020 Lincoln Aviator launches. Issues with both SUVs, built at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant, were so rife and dire that the automaker was trucking the vehicles 275 miles away to Michigan for repairs. Bloomberg reported earlier this month that Explorer's third-quarter sales dropped 48 percent compared to the previous model in 2018, with dealers unable to get enough units on lots for customers. Nor is the snafu over: Automotive News reports that another "batch of about 2,500 Explorers in need of repairs" arrived recently in Michigan, and sales through the first nine months of 2019 are down 31 percent. Sales dips during model changeovers are to be expected as old inventory gets sold down and new production ramps up, but this is different. Ford U.S. sales boss Mark LaNeve told Bloomberg earlier this month, "We’ve got adequate inventory in our stores. For Q4, availability wonÂ’t be an issue. WeÂ’ll be able to hit our stride with Explorer starting now." It's hard to know whether that's true, with thousands of Explorers still piling into Michigan; the batch AN mentioned represents about 5 days of sales during an average month in 2018, before the drawdown and interruptions hampered matters. And when Consumer Reports tested the Ford Explorer it bought this summer, it titled the review, "2020 Ford Explorer drives nicely but has many flaws / Poor interior quality and a high price overshadow the SUV's improvements."   On top of that, the AN piece mentions a new impediment to uncorking the Explorer sales stream: Worker strife in the Chicago plant. Allegedly, "Roving groups of workers are intimidating other employees, creating a hostile environment, the people said. ThatÂ’s driving up turnover and leaving some vehicle assembly unfinished, contributing to the company having to complete the work at the Michigan factory or at dealerships, the people said." Ford's been fined twice before for the same kinds of issues at its plants, once in 1999, again in 2017, but a spokesperson said Ford isn't aware of any such problems now. The pressure otherwise has got to be unpleasant for everyone on the Explorer team, from CEO Jim Hackett down. The automaker was meant to be "turning the corner" in April, but as of now, shares are down, credit rating is down, earnings are down.
