TRUCK WAS PAINTED IN MARCH OF 2014. TRUCK WAS ORIGINALLY WHITE AND I HAD IT REPAINTED FACTORY WHITE JUST TO BRIGHTEN IT UP. THE DOOR JAMS WERE NOT REPAINTED. AFTER IT WAS PAINTED I PURCHASED NEW GRILL, HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND SIDE MARKERS. I HAD THE TRUCK REPAINTED JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO FRESHEN IT UP, NOT BECAUSE IT WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE LAST TWO PHOTOS OF THE TRUCK WITH THE BLACK TRIM ON THE SIDE ARE PHOTOS OF THE TRUCK BEFORE I PAINTED IT TO SHOW IT WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE LINE-X BED LINER WAS INSTALLED IN 2013. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR THE PAINT JOB AND LINE-X SOMEWHERE. I WILL SEARCH A LITTLE HARDER FOR THEM IF NEEDED. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK IN 10/2011 WITH APPROXIMATELY 123,000 MILES ON IT. I DID THE ABOVE WORK ON IT BECAUSE I TAKE PRIDE IN THE TRUCK. THE PREVIOUS OWNER I BOUGHT IT FROM WAS A MECHANIC FROM A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO TOLD ME HE REBUILT THE MOTOR AT 120K MILES (NO RECEIPT SINCE HE IS A MECHANIC AND DID IT HIMSELF). THE PREVIOUS OWNER INFORMED ME HE RECEIVED THE TRUCK FROM HIS GRANDFATHER WHO WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I HAVE NEVER RAN A CARFAX REPORT ON THIS TRUCK. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS, AND BY THE AMOUNT OF WORK I PUT INTO THIS TRUCK, I REALLY LIKE IT. MY WIFE AND I DECIDED TO SELL IT TO BUY A DUALLY DIESEL BECAUSE WE ARE UPGRADING OUR TOY HAULER TO A LARGE 5TH WHEEL. THIS TRUCK IS MY DAILY DRIVER. MOSTLY LOCAL DRIVING. A COUPLE TIMES A YEAR WE DRIVE IT TO THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA FOR VACATION. THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER LEFT ME STRANDED! IT'S A GOOD SOLID TRUCK AND TOWS GOOD. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. THANKS, CHRIS |

Ford recalls 382k vehicles across six campaigns
Wed, Sep 30 2015Ford needs to repair a total of 381,633 vehicles in North America across six newly announced campaigns, including five safety recalls and one compliance recall. By far the largest of these campaigns covers the 342,271 examples of the 1998-2003 Windstar to double check an earlier recall repair. Among these, 283,413 are in the US and 58,858 are in Canada. The combination of corrosion and stress can cause cracks in the rear axle and eventually lead to the part to snap completely. The company reports a small number of accidents might be connected to this, but there are no injuries. The minivans were recalled for this issue back in 2010, and it was investigated by NHTSA. According to Ford's latest announcement, the reinforcement brackets on some of these models might not have been installed correctly. This time, dealers will perform an inspection. Minivans with incorrectly installed brackets will get a new rear axle. The rest of the owners will be offered a deal to replace the part at a reduced cost. The next largest campaign covers 36,857 examples of the 2015 F-150 to fix a problem with the adaptive cruise control. Specifically, there are 33,481 affected trucks in the US, and 3,376 in Canada. According to Ford, "when passing a large, highly reflective truck" the radar in the system can misidentify a semi as being in the same lane as the pickup. The collision warning system would then activate, slowing the F-150. There's one report of an accident with this happening but no injuries. The fix is simply an update to the adaptive cruise control module software. Ford also has a recall for 1,477 examples of its 2016 F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models, and they're all located in the US. A manufacturing issue might allow the trucks to shift into reverse without the driver first applying the brakes. There are no reports of any accidents from this, though. To repair the problem, the models get a new transmission shift control bracket and an adjustment to the shift cable. The Blue Oval's safety compliance recall covers 708 examples of the 2016 Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, including 658 of them in the US, 28 in Canada, and 22 in Mexico. On these models, a manufacturing problem with the fuel tank could allow it to crack in a crash, which isn't allowed under federal rules. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or fires. The fix will be a new fuel tank for all of them. The company is also repairing 251 units of the 2015 Taurus and Lincoln MKS, plus the 2016 Explorer.
Ford Mustang 50th anniversary edition brings in $170k
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Just the other day, we reported on the first Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat selling for a whopping $825,000 at auction. But impressive as that sum was, the Challenger wasn't the only sought-after modern muscle car to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block in Las Vegas this past weekend. So did this rare Ford Mustang.
The last of 1,964 special-edition 50 Years Limited Edition pony cars sold for a princely $170,000, with proceeds benefiting the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute, a branch of the Henry Ford Health System.
The pony car in question is based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and upgrades with a performance package and nearly every option on the book, along with a unique appearance package to set it apart in celebration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary. It's available in two exclusive shades - Wimbledon white or Kona blue - with either a manual or automatic transmission. Only 1,964 highly symbolic examples were to be built, and this was the last of them.
Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden
Tue, 18 Mar 2014Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.
