2013 FORD F250 Super Duty Platinum Edition 4X4, 12,770 miles, mint condition inside and out. Tuxedo Black Metallic with black leather interior. This truck is absolutely one of the sharpest trucks around, I always keep it shined up and I have got a ton of compliments from others. The metallic paint really stands out and looks awesome. Has 6" Rough Country lift kit, new springs and rear lift, added Fox Shocks. I have the factory suspension and shocks boxed up and will go with the sale. Tires are 295/65/20 Nitto Trail Grappler and rims are Gear Alloy Nitro. I have the original rims and tires with 400 miles on them, they are not part of the auction but can be purchased by buyer if an agreement on price can be reached(unless you use Buy It Now, see below for details) As you can see from the window sticker, this truck was loaded with every option, off the lot it has over $10,000 in options. Additionally, I had the dealership install an engine block heater and also install the headrest DVD players in the back. They ordered the DVD players from the factory with a remote and a set of headphones, these are not the cheap add on players. The upgrades for the block heater and DVD Players were an additional $2600, the suspension and rims/tires were an additional $4600. Includes all factory manuals, window sticker, navigation disk, etc. I am selling because I bought an all wheel drive BMW and another truck from Texas. Once purchased, the buyer has to send a deposit of $500 through Paypal. Deposit is non refundable if you cannot get financing or obtain funds to complete the purchase. Only serious buyers please. If you wish to come inspect the vehicle you may do so at any time. Any questions please ask. Thank you. **If buyer chooses Buy It Now, I will add the factory rims and tires to the sale of the truck. They are 20 inch polished aluminum with black powder coated insets. The tires are Michelin LTX A/T 2 in a 275/65/20. Please see below for a picture. Factory options (please see the window sticker for the complete list): 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel Navigation System Microsoft SYNC Touchscreen Navigation/Bluetooth System Heated/Cooled seats front and back WeatherTech Floor Mats front and back 3.55 Electronic Locking Diff Hill Start Assist Remote Start Sony Premium Audio System Adjustable Pedals Heated Steering wheel Trailer Sway Control Trailer Tow Package Integrated Brake Controller Heavy Duty Service Suspension Upfitter Switches Cab Lights FX-4 OffRoad Package Power Rear Sliding Window w/ privacy glass Sunroof Rapid Heat Supplemental Cab Heater(works great in cold weather, turn on the heater and get instant heat until the diesel warms up) |

Ford fights back against patent trolls
Fri, Feb 13 2015Some people are just awful. Some organizations are just as awful. And when those people join those organizations, we get stories like this one, where Ford has spent the past several years combatting so-called patent trolls. According to Automotive News, these malicious organizations have filed over a dozen lawsuits against the company since 2012. They work by purchasing patents, only to later accuse companies of misusing intellectual property, despite the fact that the so-called patent assertion companies never actually, you know, do anything with said intellectual property. AN reports that both Hyundai and Toyota have been victimized by these companies, with the former forced to pay $11.5 million to a company called Clear With Computers. Toyota, meanwhile, settled with Paice LLC, over its hybrid tech. The world's largest automaker agreed to pay $5 million, on top of $98 for every hybrid it sold (if the terms of the deal included each of the roughly 1.5 million hybrids Toyota sold since 2000, the company would have owed $147 million). Including the previous couple of examples, AN reports 107 suits were filed against automakers last year alone. But Ford is taking action to prevent further troubles... kind of. The company has signed on with a firm called RPX, in what sounds strangely like a protection racket. Automakers like Ford pay RPX around $1.5 million each year for access to its catalog of patents, which it spent nearly $1 billion building. "We take the protection and licensing of patented innovations very seriously," Ford told AN via email. "And as many smart businesses are doing, we are taking proactive steps to protect against those seeking patent infringement litigation." What are your thoughts on this? Should this patent business be better managed? Is it reasonable that companies purchase patents only to file suit against the companies that build actual products? Have your say in Comments.
Ford debuts Fusion NASCAR racer that edges closer to stock [w/video]
Wed, 20 Feb 2013The sixth-generation NASCAR Sprint Cup racecar, which will make its competition debut at the 2013 Daytona 500 this weekend, marks the closest thing to a "stock car" that the sport has seen in more than 20 years. No longer using just stickers to distinguish the different brands, the image above shows the lengths NASCAR and automakers went in order to create a racecar design that more closely resembles the individual cars they represent.
Ford, one of the more open and vocal OEMs regarding the Gen6 car's development, is giving us a closer look at its racing version of the Fusion with a pretty revealing side-by-side comparison with last years' racer (click above for an expanded view). Aside from the more realistic front end and production-like body lines, the overall shape, dimensions and proportions have also been designed to give the racecar a more stock appearance. Most of the new racer was designed by the Ford Design Center, which the automaker says was the first time it has been so involved in the design process since the 1960s. Of course, one area the Sprint Cup Fusion really differs from the production Fusion is its Ford Racing 5.8-liter V8 producing around 850 hp. Can you say Fusion SVT?

Ford recalls Explorer and Lincoln MKC for fire hazard
Thu, Mar 31 2016The Basics: Ford will recall 5,536 examples of the 2016 Explorer and 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC. The Explorers have build dates between October 20, 2014, and January 28, 2016, at the Chicago Assembly Plant. The MKCs are from between November 25, 2013, and January 25, 2016, at the Louisville Assembly Plant. In total, there are 3,129 total affected examples of the 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 examples of the 2016 Ford Explorer. Of these, 1,543 are in the US and 3,993 are in Canada. The Problem: The combination of the engine block design and the block heater in these vehicles can cause the part to overheat when plugged in. Injuries/Deaths: None reported, but there are two cases of underhood fires in Canada. If you own one: Ford will begin notifying owners during the week of May 16, company spokesperson John Cangany tells Autoblog. Related Video: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to replace engine block heaters Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 5,500 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to remove the heaters and replace them with an updated design. The engine block design, coupled with the particular block heater installed in these vehicles, causes the unit to be susceptible to overheating when the vehicle is parked and the block heater is plugged in –increasing the risk of an underhood fire. Ford is aware of two reports of underhood fires in Canada, but is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC vehicles built at Louisville Assembly Plant, Nov. 25, 2013 through Jan. 25, 2016 and certain 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, Oct. 20, 2014 through Jan. 28, 2016. There are 5,536 vehicles affected by the issue, including 3,129 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles, with 1,543 of the affected vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and 3,993 in Canada. Dealers will remove and replace the engine block heater with an updated design and, if needed, replace the cord at no cost to the customer.
