Up for sale is my baby, my 2003 Ford F-250 XLT. Powerstroke 7.3L (444cu in) and ZF-6 manual transmission. I purchased the truck from a dealership in Ohio, and over the last 4 years I have replaced the 8' bed with a new one off a 2009, replaced the cab corners and rockers, and have done the following engine/performance modifications:
MBRP Stainless 4" straight pipe exhaust with 5" tip Banks Ram-Air Intake New exhaust manifolds with bellowed up-pipes Diesel Site 203 degree thermostat Diesel Site Boost Fooler Diesel Site Wicked Wheel 2 Gale Banks Tune, set on Performance setting (+130HP) South Bend Dual Disc Clutch (650HP holding capacity) (part#SFDD3250-6) The wheels are Fuel Off-Road Throttle Series, wrapped in 275x65R20 (34" diameter) Nitto Terra Grappler Tires (60% tread) Python security system with remote start and GPS Kenwood DPX500BT head unit with BlueTooth and JL audio speakers all around AGR Saginaw Power Steering Pump conversion AMSOIL in the crankcase, differentials, transmission, transfer case, and power steering system JOBOX toolbox and Extang Fulltilt Toolbox Tonneau Cover Although 2003 model trucks should have the powdered metal connecting rods, the engine is manufactured from Canoas, Brazil (instead of Fort Wayne) and upon removal of the inspection cover revealed the rods having studs and nuts, instead of bolts (indicating forged design). The doors may need to be replaced in a couple of years, as there is noticeable rust forming in the bottom sections. Other than that, she is extremely solid given her age and that she is a daily driver. Truck is a loaded standard cab, with power windows, locks, and cruise control. She cruises down the highway without any rattles or vibrations at 85+ MPH. Buy her here, and drive her around the world if you would like. Very solid and fun to drive with plenty of power. If you have any questions please ask! |

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri
Mon, Sep 19 2016Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:
Ford taps Canada-based Multimatic to build carbon fiber Ford GT
Mon, Feb 16 2015Ford has given Canadian firm Multimatic the nod to build the carbon fiber body on the new GT – The Blue Oval says it has worked with this company for 30 years. The global supplier provides parts and engineering to various automakers, and while based in Markham, Ontario it has 12 plants in Canada, the US, Mexico, England, and China. When announcing the decision at the Canadian International Auto Show, Ford says it chose them "because they have specialized equipment for carbon fiber production and expertise in carbon fiber assembly," and we've heard that the 600-horsepower coupe will be produced in a purpose-built facility at Ford's factory in Markham. Even better than that – for GT purposes and for possible hints at a Le Mans run – the Multimatic Motorsports division can be contracted for engineering and race team management. They currently produce the Boss 302R racecar in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, worked on the FR500C, and their Multimatic Motorsports Lola B2K/40 won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2000. The first models will roll off the line at the end of next year. Production numbers are rumored to be in the low hundreds, with a six-figure price tag around $200,000. They'll go into production in time for some sort of 50th anniversary celebration of the GT40 taking the the top three spots at Le Mans in 1966. Here's your chance to vote for the best-looking state police cruiser
Thu, Jul 18 2019Across the country, state police generally drive the same types of vehicles. Right now, the most common cruisers are Ford Explorers, Chevrolet Tahoes, and Dodge Chargers, with some exceptions sprinkled in. The differentiation comes through in the livery, which can range from simplistic badging to busy stripes. Each year, the American Association of State Troopers (AAST) holds a fun contest to determine which state has the coolest-looking cars, and 2019 voting has just opened. We discovered the contest after Motor1 posted about the Florida Highway Patrol's newest addition to its fleet, a Dodge Challenger R/T. The musclemobile is, without question, the coolest car in the competition, and it might have the best livery too. But that doesn't mean it's going to win, as contests like this often turn into hotbeds for chest-beating homers. The AAST is posting results on Facebook, and as of July 17, 2019, Kentucky and Nebraska are blowing the rest of the states out of the water. Florida is in ninth place with 4,653 votes compared to first-place Kentucky's 14,699. New Jersey is in last place with only 107 votes. As the internet goes, this will likely be determined by how many times the contest is shared across social media. The Challenger isn't the only eye candy, either. Not every state participated, but those that did came correct with the photography, including Nebraska posing its car in front of a freakin' tornado. Others staged their cars with helicopters in the background, some set the car in front of the gorgeous landscapes their states have to offer, and others posed with dogs. Because who doesn't love dogs? No matter which car wins, it's cool to see the various designs all in one place. Check out the gallery above and vote for your favorite on the AAST's survey. The survey will close on July 30, 2019. Â
