Here's a lot of truck for not a lot of money! Take a look a 1998 Ford F-250 4x4 with a lot of power and extras. For starters, finding an F-250 4x4 can be a challenge, next, to find one with these miles (110...) and for this price, now you'll be looking for a while. Then add to the fact that this is a XLT, NOT A stripped down work truck, and you realize that you have found a way to save money, make money, and like what you are driving.
You have here a 1998 Ford F-250 4x4 that has a clean title, ready to be transferred to the new owner. The color is Red and Silver trimmed. The paint is nice and shiny, no red dusting or clear coat pealing. Take a look at the miles!! Better than average!!!
The interior of the truck is good condition with little wear. The seat is in good shape, a three passenger with a folding arm rest in the center. There are cup holders as you can see in the pictures. A power outlet next to the drivers knee. The truck comes equipped with a Working Factory Cruise Control for those long trips on the highway, this option is nice, because many F-250 do not have this, this one does. The A/C is in working condition and is cold. The radio is a standard Ford radio that is in working condition as well.
The motor in this truck is a 5.4 Liter V-8. A very dependable, powerful, and long lasting motor traditionally. This motor was used in many Ford trucks and SUVs, so parts and maintenance are easy find. This is a quite running motor that idles smoothly, and runs down the interstate even smoother (I was impressed and I drive one myself). The transmission is tight and shifts smoothly, it does have the electric over-drive shifter on the gear selector, to quickly go from OD to drive when pulling a load or otherwise. The 4x4 is in working condition. It engages easily from the knob on the right side of the driver, from 2 wheel high to 4 wheel high then to 4 wheel-low range. The steering is tight, the truck tracks straight down the road without pulling right or left. The brakes stop smoothly and straight as well, no noises. The tires are in good shape as you can see in the pictures and there is a spare located under the truck bed.
Now for the extras!!! This unit come equipped with a hide away 5th Wheel attachment as you can see in the pictures. So whether you are pulling or hauling a load in the bed, or doing both in the same day, you are just seconds from going from one to the other. This is very nice feature for those who want an all around work truck. It does also have a heavy duty standard style hitch attached to the frame under the bumper for normal pulling of boats, campers, etc.. You can also see that in the cab pictures, this truck has a electric trailer braking system already installed and the trailer lighting plug is the large round style (see the tailgate picture).
Like we mentioned a lot of truck for not a lot of money!!!
We always recommend a personal inspection of the vehicle to make sure that there are no surprises for our buyers. Don't hesitate to ask any questions if you think of anything!! All of our vehicles on eBay or locally are sold As Is, no warranty. eBay and others do offer a warranty for this vehicle but these would be the responsibility of the buyer. Please look at the pictures carefully and you will notice that this truck does have some rust spots. Mostly on the truck bed and around the rocker panels (under the doors). Sorry, these are common rust spots on Ford trucks, not out of the ordinary if you look around. Also please look at the drives side door near the lower left corner, in the silver area, and you will see a dent, it doesn't effect the usage of the door, but it is there. The truck is used. We feel that we have adjust the price appropriately to allow the new buyer to fix these areas or just drive and save. If you have any question or concerns please do not hesitate to ask questions. We are on call to send extra photos, or answer any personal questions that you have concerning this truck. You can contact us thru eBay or at our office 641-673-5750 or direct at 515-371-9333.
For many of our eBay clients, shipping and delivery of the truck are concerns. These are the responsibility of the new owner. However, please do not hesitate to call or contact us through eBay for a quote on our private delivery service offered only to OUR eBay customers. Directly from us, by us, to you!! Many times our prices are very competitive, and sometimes half the cost of commercial carriers. We offer regional airport pick up at no cost, for those who would like to come and drive away in this nice unit. Also we have a commercial pickup area if you chose to send your chosen carrier to retrieve the vehicle. We try to make your eBay buying experience as easy as possible.
There you have it, a lot of truck. Powerful, versatile, and not a bad looking truck in our opinion. 4x4 with reasonable miles!!! Ready to work, pull, have fun, or just drive. Cruise Control, A/C-nice and comfortable!! Don't let this one get away, Bid Confidently!!!! A deal like this doesn't happen every day!!!

Ford doubling 1.0L EcoBoost engine production
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine hasn't been around that long, but it sounds like the engine is getting to be fairly popular in the automaker's global car lineup. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford has add a second shift that will allow its German engine plant to double daily output from 500 engines to 1,000.
The increased capacity is part of a plan to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year with this engine in Europe by 2015. Europe is currently the only market where the smallest of the EcoBoost engines is offered (including in the Focus pictured above), but US-spec Fiesta models will be getting this mill for 2014.
Three-cylinder engines are expected to continue to grow in popularity in coming years with the report indicating that global production of these engines will double by 2018 to 9.8 million units. General Motors, BMW and Mitsubishi are all expected to introduce three-cylinder engines in the near term, as well.
2015 Ford Transit Connect Wagon
Thu, May 28 2015The last time I tested a Ford Transit Connect, I needed to drive a group of friends to Boyne, MI, for a long weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and shenanigans. At roughly three hours, the trip is just long enough that my friends asked for something comfortable. A Range Rover would've been ideal. Perhaps a Mercedes-Benz GL or Cadillac Escalade. But no, I chose Transit Connect, to put Ford's small van formula to the test. The tiny van was near the end of its lifecycle in 2012, having debuted in Europe in 2003. Its age was reflected in its loud, underpowered, inefficient engine; noisy, harsh ride; and uncomfortable seats. It was so uncomfortable that we had to stop every hour just to stretch our legs. I didn't have such elaborate plans when this 2015 Transit Connect Wagon arrived in my driveway. But after a week behind the wheel, I can tell that road tripping in this van would be a far, far better experience. The most obvious change for the second-generation model is the styling. It's much better looking than the old TC, looking like the high-roofed spawn of a Focus and Escape. There are a few anomalies, though. First, note the word "Wagon" – that implies passenger van, while the cargo/work-minded Transit Connect is called "Van." Next, this Titanium model is only available on the longer-wheelbase, three-row Wagon. With the LWB configuration, the only tailgate option is a single-piece, lift-up hatch. If you want barn-style doors, get cozy with the short-wheelbase, two-row Transit Connect XLT. Regardless of body style, the Transit Connect Wagon's best styling feature is its enormous greenhouse that guarantees excellent visibility from any angle. The interior adopts a dash layout similar to the Focus. The heated leather seats – standard on the Titanium – are nice enough, but better still is that the chairs are actually comfortable now. The plastics on the dash and doors are still hard and scratchy, but fit and finish is solid. And with major contact points and switchgear that have been pilfered from other Ford products, including the steering wheel, the occasional bad bits in the cabin are easy enough to ignore. With room for three folks in the second row and two more in the back, the Transit Connect Wagon fills a role that is more utilitarian and spartan, but not much less versatile than traditional minivans. The middle row seats feature stadium-style raised seating, and both rows can slide forward and back or fold.
Question of the Day: Worst year of the Malaise Era?
Thu, Jun 23 2016The Malaise Era for cars in the United States spanned the 1973 through 1983 model years, and featured such abominations as a Corvette with just 205 horsepower (from the optional engine!) and MGBs with suspensions jacked way up to meet new headlight-height requirements. There were many low points throughout this gloomy period, of course. The horrifyingly low power and fuel-economy numbers for big V8s during the middle years of the Malaise Era make a strong case for 1974 or 1975— the years of Nixon's resignation and the Fall of Saigon, respectively— as the most Malaisey years. But then the GM-pummeling debacles of the Chevy Citation and Cadillac Cimarron could make an early-1980s year the low point. 1979, the year of the ignominious Chrysler bailout? You choose!
