1997 Ford F-250 / F-350 Heavy Duty Powerstroke 4x4

THOUSANDS OF ADD ONS

This is truly a ONE OF A KIND!  It is a 1997 Powerstroke Crew-Cab, Shortbox that has been converted to an F-350!  It now has a solid front axle Dana 60.   118,620 original miles.

This F-350 has a coil-over 4-link conversion on the front end which was professionally installed! Not only does it have a much smoother ride, it drives straight, AND has a tighter turning radius. The front end is tight, at some point in time everything on the front end has been service or replaced with new parts.

The ride height is currently set about 2” above stock. The front is currently level with the rear. You can actually adjust the height of this pickup to whatever you want (within limits). The front can be adjusted via the RaceRunner Coil Over Shocks. The rear can be adjusted via the air bags.

The front end has a Posi differential and the rear-end has a Tru-Trac differential.

4x4 is shift on the floor with Warn Locking Hubs.

The 7.3 Powerstroke runs like a dream, it is very strong and reliable. It has an added BANKS Intercooler (professionally installed / very clean), a down pipe, a 6.0L Turbo intake, an Edge Tuner, and a new Belt. The EDGE TUNER is customizable for displays and tunes.

The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with either Rotella semi synthetic or Mobile Fully Synthetic.

The Automatic transmission  with overdrive is strong and shifts perfectly. It has been serviced less than 1000 miles ago.

The tires are Toyo Open Country M/T, size LT235/75R16. The front tires have some wear. The rear tires are fairly new.

Under the front chrome bumper we have added two Heavy Duty Chrome Tow Hooks. The hooks are bolted to the frame.

The rear has an Ultra Frame tow hitch. The truck is wired for towing and has a top of the line Prodigy Brake Controller. The inside of the box is in great condition (paint scratches from normal use). The box is wired and set up for a 5th wheel.

The matching red topper is an A.R.E. Topper. The topper has locking latches, carpet lining, interior light, sliding side windows with screens, and a front sliding window.

The grey interior is in Excellent shape for a 1997. There are no rips, tears, or wear spots, in the carpet, headliner, visors, or seats. The seats currently have red and black seat covers. The driver side seat cover is starting to tear. Underneath the seat covers, the seats are like NEW.  The dash is in great condition except for two pin holes (can be repaired for $100). The door panels are in good condition but do have a couple minor cracks (I have been told these can be repaired as well).

The side and rear windows have been tinted. The rear window on the cab is a slider, so you can still access the box with the topper on since they both have a slider. The front windshield has a rock chip but has been repaired.

The stock stereo was replaced with an Alpine CD Receiver with a USB port and Sirius XM.  Gauge pillars include Tranny Temp and Exhaust Temp. The Banks Intercooler not only gives more power it drastically drops the EGTs!

Front driver and passenger seat have Power Lumbar. Power locks, power windows, power mirrors, cruise control. The AC blows COLD and the heat blows HOT. I have one key fob, but it does not work on the driver door (probably an easy fix).

No leaks, no rust, meticulously maintained!  Brakes, Blinkers, tail lights, and headlights all in good condition.  Sold AS IS.  You will not find another one like it anywhere! Overall the body is in excellent condition, however if you look close it does have minor scratches, dings, etc here and there from normal wear.

This is an amazing Ford, you won't be disappointed!

Scandal-rocked UAW extends Ford, FCA contracts, prepares to strike GM

Fri, Sep 13 2019

DETROIT — Leaders of the United Auto Workers union have extended contracts with Ford and Fiat Chrysler indefinitely, but the pact with General Motors is still set to expire Saturday night. The move puts added pressure on bargainers for both sides as they approach the contract deadline and the union starts to make preparations for a strike. The contract extension was confirmed Friday by UAW spokesman Brian Rothenberg, who declined further comment on the talks. The union has picked GM as the target company, meaning it is the focus of bargaining and would be the first company to face a walkout. GMÂ’s contract with the union is scheduled to expire at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. ItÂ’s possible that the four-year GM contract also could be extended or a deal could be reached, but itÂ’s more likely that 49,200 UAW members could walk out of GM plants as early as Sunday because union and company demands are so far apart. Picket line schedules already have been posted near the entrance to one local UAW office in Detroit. Art Wheaton, an auto industry expert at the Worker Institute at Cornell University, expects the GM contract to be extended for a time, but he says the gulf between both sides is wide. “GM is looking through the windshield ahead, and it looks like nothing but land mines,” he said of a possible recession, trade disputes and the expense of developing electric and autonomous vehicles. “I think thereÂ’s really going to be a big problem down the road in matching the expectations of the union and the willingness of General Motors to be able to give the membership what it wants.” Plant-level union leaders from all over the country will be in Detroit on Sunday to talk about the next steps, and after that, the union likely will make an announcement. But leaders are likely to face questions about an expanding federal corruption probe that snared a top official on Thursday. Vance Pearson, head of a regional office based near St. Louis, was charged with corruption in an alleged scheme to embezzle union money and spend cash on premium booze, golf clubs, cigars and swanky stays in California. ItÂ’s the same region that UAW President Gary Jones led before taking the unionÂ’s top office last year. Jones and other union executives met privately at a hotel at Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Friday. After the meeting broke up, JonesÂ’ driver and others physically blocked an AP reporter from trying to approach him to ask questions.

European car sales up 8% in February

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

Three weeks ago an analyst increased projections for European car sales this year, expecting them to climb three percent compared to last year instead of 2.7 percent. That number is a postive sign after years of hard times but it turns out February was especially good, overall European sales climbing eight percent on a wave of southern European recovery and discounts - and this comes after five months of gains including January's 7.2-percent jump over the year before.
The only country of Europe's five largest markets to post a decline was France, just as it did in January, Germany, the UK and Italy posting solid double-digit numbers, Spain rocking the charts with an 18-percent increase because of a government program to encourage trade-ins.
The only brand to miss the wave was Volkswagen, dropping 0.8 percent as it watched the double-digit growth at sister brands Audi, Seat and Skoda lift the Volkswagen Group sales up by seven-percent. Peugeot overcame flat sales at Citroën to improve the group by 3.5 percent, BMW and the Mercedes-Benz/Smart combo rose by four percent, the Fiat group jumped 5.8 percent, Ford was up 11 percent, the Renault Group 11.5 percent, General Motors 12 percent and the Toyota clan by 14 percent.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
