This 1996 Ford F 250 2 wheel drive pickup is in exceptional condition for its year. With the current millage it has averaged a little over 10,000 miles per year.
The 7.3 liter Powerstroke turbo charged diesel engine has been maintained to the highest level. When ever there was an issue with the truck it was fixed immediately by a reputable local repair facility. The truck is ready to go anywhere. The glow plow harness was replaced several years ago. within the past 3 years a new cam timing sensor was installed, new brakes, new plug for block heater (you don't really need it because the truck starts in the coldest weather).New rear differential cover just put in because the old one wasn't leaking but was showing signs that it might. Rear end oil was changed at that time.
Duel fuel tanks, the front tank fuel guage does not work. Each tank has a key locking fuel fill cap. No oil leaks or drips anywhere. Engine burns clean with no smoke.
I had a 2" receiver hitch installed with an electric brake adjustment modual in the cab. The truck has towed a trailer maybe 5 times. There are two surface rust spots. One is on the hood and the other is to the right of the rear window. Both have rust inhibitor on them but should be painted at some point. About the size of a quarter, see pictures.
It has a fantastic Eagle hydraulic tailgate lift that can lift 500LBS. Very handy piece of equipment. The electric motor that drives the hydraulic pump has been rebuilt and works perfectly.
There is a small ding on the drivers side door and above the fuel tank fill they are small and hard to see in the pictures.
Plastic bed liner. Tires are excellent.
Transmission has an over drive button that is used when towing.
Rocker panels and doors are solid as a rock. No rust on this truck besides what I mentioned above. The truck has been kept indoors and not driven in the winter.I'm selling it because I don't need it any more and it has only been used about 4000 miles a year in the past 9 years.
The engine is extremely powerful and with a lot of torque.
Vynal bench seat, hand crank windows, no AC. This is a reliable no frills truck. That's probably why its so reliable and inexpensive to maintain.

Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars
Fri, 05 Sep 2014There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.
Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor to get 365-hp EcoBoost option
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Speeders beware, the police are going to be getting quite a bit faster. Ford has just announced that it will be offering its 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged, EcoBoost V6 in the Explorer Police Interceptor. The new engine will be joining the existing 3.7-liter V6. The 365-horsepower, 350-pound-foot mill should be familiar to consumers as the powerplant that's found in the Ford Taurus SHO (and its LEO equivalent, the Taurus Police Interceptor) and the Ford Explorer Sport. It should also provide quite a kick in the pants to officers used to the naturally aspirated 3.7 and its 304 ponies and 279 pound-feet of torque.
The move to the more potent powerplant was born out of all the equipment officers need to carry on a day-to-day basis. These days, there's so much stuff that police need on a regular basis, that there's a genuine market for a faster Police Interceptor Utility, as it's known officially. The Explorer-based cruiser has already accounted for 68 percent of Ford's LEO sales in 2013, and that's with just the 3.7, and we'd only expect that number to increase once the twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 is available. Ford won't offer up any indication of what the take rate will be on the new engine, but we're guessing it'll be fairly high.
The success of the Explorer PI couldn't have come at a better time for Ford. The decision to end Crown Victoria production was not a popular one with police, and combined with Chevrolet and Dodge diving into the LEO market feet first, Ford hasn't been performing as well as it's wanted to. The Explorer has been helping it turn around, though. And with the inclusion of the EcoBoost, Ford also has a legit competitor for the Chevrolet Tahoe on the big utility side of the police market.
