Very nice 4 door super crew XLT 5.4L, Auto, 4x4 Power windows and locks, A/C In dash DVD player with Backup Camera Ford Bedliner Running boards New tires - less than 2,000 miles on them Clean Carfax. This truck runs great. New engine installed at my local Ford dealer. The engine has a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty which is transferable to the next owner (approximately 2 1/2 years left on the warranty) and is good at ANY Ford dealer. Some might question my price but you're getting a low mileage truck with almost zero miles on the new engine and a 2 1/2 year warranty on the engine. That's almost what you get by spending $30,000 - $40,000 more on a new truck....that's quite a few dollars left in your pocket. While they were replacing the engine and were already in the engine compartment, I had them replace the exhaust manifolds, starter, and radiator too. There is a lot less labor involved when the engine is out of the way. Clean rocker panels and cab corners. One minor item, visible in the pictures above is that a small piece of plastic is missing from the honeycomb front grill. It does not affect anything and I do not notice it but I also do not hide items from potential buyers. It's a great buy on a clean used super crew with a new engine. I love driving it. It runs great. Only 131k miles on the rest of the truck...still young. For those that want the rest of the story.... I bought the truck last August. Shortly after purchasing it, a noise started out of the bottom end of the engine. It turned out that someone in the recent past had removed the oil pan and done some work to hide that the original engine had trouble (per both my mechanic and the Ford mechanics). Check out my seller ratings and you will see that I am not the kind of person that will stick someone else with a problem so I went the route of having the engine properly replaced by a Ford dealer. Our downstairs heating system went out and replacing that is a higher priority than keeping my truck (I know, I should get my priorities straight). At the moment, I cannot afford to both replace the HVAC system AND keep the truck, especially after all the money I put into it. I'll be taking a loss on the truck but still, it's money in the pocket to pay the other cost. Other than the transferable engine warranty, there are no other warranties. $500 deposit due within 24 hours. Balance due within 7 days. If you decide to have it shipped, I will make myself available for your shipper when they come to pick it up. On Feb-19-14 at 10:28:21 PST, seller added the following information: ** |

Ford Recalls Nearly 700,000 Vehicles
Fri, May 9 2014Ford is recalling more than 692,000 Escape small SUVs and C-Max gas-electric hybrids in North America to fix two safety problems. The recalls cover vehicles from the 2013 and 2014 model years. Most of the Escapes have both problems. The first case covers 692,500 Escape and C-Max vehicles. A software glitch can stop the side curtain air bags from inflating in certain types of rollover crashes. The company says it has no reports of crashes or injuries. Dealers will reprogram the air bag control computer for free. About 65,000 of the recalled vehicles are C-Max models, and the rest are Escapes. Roughly 591,000 are in the U.S., with 3,500 more in U.S. territories. About 78,000 are in Canada and another 19,500 are in Mexico, Fordspokeswoman Kelli Felker said in an e-mail. There could be more vehicles affected in other markets, the company said. The affected Escapes were built from Oct. 5, 2011 through Feb. 14, 2014. The C-Max vehicles were built from Jan. 19, 2012, through Feb. 24, 2014. The second case covers about 692,700 Escapes. Exterior door handles can bind and stop the door from latching properly. This could allow doors to open while the SUVs are in motion. Dealers will inspect the handles and reposition them if needed. No crashes or injuries have been reported. About 583,000 are in the U.S. or its territories, with another 89,500 in Canada and 20,000 in Mexico. Ford said in this case, the problem may affect vehicles in other markets. All the North American Escapes were built from Oct. 5, 2011, through April 10, 2014. Recalls Ford escape
2013 Shelby 1000 unleashes its 1,200 horsepower ahead of NY show reveal
Fri, 22 Mar 2013True story: Last fall, I had the opportunity to spend a week with Ford's new 2013 Shelby GT500 - the Blue Oval's factory Mustang with 662 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque. It's an amazing beast, to be sure. I'm not sure if it was Michigan's damp streets strewn with potholes and wet leaves, but at no point did I ever say to myself, "You know, Ford is on to a really good thing here, but what it really needs is about twice the power." And yet, for people in warmer climes with infrastructure in better nick - or for those whose muscle cars live their lives out on the track, there's apparently sufficient demand to warrant just such a beast.
Quick studies will recall that Shelby American launched its 1000 last year to commemorate its 50th anniversary, but it is returning to the New York Auto Show with a fresh version based on the 2013 GT500 I drove. The 2013 Shelby 1000 whips up 1,200 horsepower on pump gas thanks to beefed-up forced induction, engine internals and cooling. Wisely, it also incorporates an adjustable suspension and big brake package to make sure those ponies have the best chance being safely deployed to the ground.
What price the world's most powerful "production" muscle car? $154,995 for starters - donor GT500 not included. What, no convertible variant?
United States drivers buying fewer Mexican-made cars
Tue, May 10 2016Crossovers and pickup trucks are not only growing in market share, they're also more profitable than cars. A crossover on the same platform as a sedan retails for thousands more, despite similar components. It's one of the reasons we've seen automakers rapidly shifting production of their sedans and hatchbacks to Mexico, where cheap labor preserves the thin profit margins on these inexpensive vehicles. But as the market continues to shift in the United States, Mexico is getting burned by its lack of product diversity. The country's auto exports, which are heavy on cars, suffered a 16-percent drop last month, Automotive News reports. In total, year-over-year exports fell from 233,515 to 197,020 last month, while year-to-date exports are down by 7.4 percent, from 922,029 to 854,118. The number one culprit? America – which usually accounts for 75 percent of Mexico's exports – and its appetite for crossovers and pickup trucks bolstered by cheap gas prices. While Mexico does build some light truck models – AN specifically calls out the Ram 2500, Honda HR-V, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tacoma as export leaders – the vast majority of vehicles rolling out of its factories are sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, the three biggest drops in Mexican exports came from companies whose south of the border factories only build cars – Ford (Fusion/Lincoln MKZ and Fiesta), Mazda (Mazda3), and Volkswagen (Golf and Jetta). Mexican Automotive Industry Association President Eduardo Solis told AN the export shortfall will likely be sorted out sooner rather than later, thanks to a pair of new factories – a Kia car factory and an Audi SUV plant – that are coming online by year's end. The two facilities will add around 100,000 vehicles to the country's export totals, which Solis said should leave the industry on the verge of breaking another export record in 2016. But how sustainable will these record-breaking years be? Slapping an "Hecho en Mexico" sticker on a new German SUV won't be enough to change the fact that Mexico's product mix is tilted too heavily towards body styles that are not growing in volume. Mexico's record-breaking export years probably aren't at an end, but we'd argue they're certainly under threat.
