2013 Ford SVT SuperCrew Raptor
This is one of the most well taken care of and lowest mileage 2013's It has always been kept in a climate
controlled garage and was driven on the weekends. The 2013's come standard with the better TORSEN® front
differential and the big 6.2l engine.
The options added to this Raptor are listed below:
Equipment Group 801A - $4760
Power Moonroof - $995
Box Side Graphics - $1075
Hood Graphics -$900
Bed Extender - $250
17" Forged Beadlock Compatible Wheels - $1165
Front & Rear Camera System - $525
I can't say enough nice things about this truck. It's been a pleasure to drive though I never took it off-road to
see its true capability. Living in Macon, GA the air conditioned seats were very nice to have and I also enjoyed
the upgraded Sony sound system which are both included in the 801A group. The 801A group comes with several other
things such as the integrated brake controller, power folding mirrors, remote start, garage door opener, HID
lights, and navigation just to name a few.
I did a few tasteful modifications to this truck:
The plastic center console door that comes on the truck was removed and upgraded to the full soft leather door
that comes on the Ford Platinum series truck which matches the Raptor leather seats perfectly. See photo.
The factory gray bumpers and fender flares just did not match the rest of the truck in my opinion, so I had
them professionally painted satin black. This made the truck look much better and now matched the black door
handles, black running boards, black wheels, black graphics, and the black trim.
I also had the paint shop spray the rear inner fender wheel to hide the white bed that was exposed. See photo.
I only planned to haul boxes and maybe some furniture now and then, so I decided to try a BedRug instead of
spraying or purchasing a plastic liner. Water goes right through it since its an outdoor carpet material. It's very
nice to lay or sit on. It also keeps things from sliding around and fills in the metal ridges creating a flat
floor.
Finally, I installed some Rigid lights in the front bumper openings. Without them it looks like something is
missing in the two large openings. 2 lights are a white spot and the other 2 lights are a amber flood. These lights
are connected to the SVT switches in the center console.

Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.

Ford reserving 50th Anniversary Mustangs for service members

Tue, Dec 16 2014

Think getting your hands on one of the 1,964 50th Anniversary Ford Mustangs is hard as a civilian? Imagine how tough it might be for the Mustang fanatics in our nation's military. Perhaps recognizing this fact, Ford Emerging Market Services and the Overseas Military Sales Corporation (the only Ford-authorized retailer on the military's bases) ran a raffle, with the winners receiving the opportunity to purchase one of the limited-edition muscle cars. Ford EMS and OMS received 300 entries to the raffle, although with only eight 50th Anniversary Stangs to hand out, we imagine there were quite a lot of disappointed soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines. "We are pleased to offer limited-edition anniversary Mustangs to members of our military through our Military Appreciation Program, and we are delighted at the response it's receiving," Doug Walczak, EMS' fleet sales manager, said. The first Mustang was delivered to Army Maj. Del Boyer, shown above. While Maj. Boyer took delivery in New York, the raffle was open to servicemembers both at home and abroad.

Weekly Recap: Ferrari, Ford and Porsche power up for Geneva

Sat, Feb 7 2015

Monday was Groundhog Day. Tuesday, apparently, was Sports Car Day. The Ferrari 488 GTB, the Ford Focus RS and the Porsche Cayman GT4 all debuted within hours of each other ahead of their rollouts at the Geneva Motor Show. Three sporty machines, three vastly different approaches – and a lot of implications for enthusiasts. That's a day worth repeating. It also illustrates the opportunities automakers see in the performance market, which is expected to grow in the coming years. Ford estimates the segment has expanded 14 percent in Europe and surged 70 percent in North America since 2009. The Detroit Auto Show was evidence of this, and performance cars of every stripe debuted, including the Acura NSX, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and several others. This isn't a fad. Performance cars aren't going away. The question is why? Stricter CAFE standards are looming in the United States, as are tighter emissions regulations in Europe. And no one expects gas prices to remain low in America. None of this matters for sports cars, and automakers are increasingly using them to elevate their images. That's why Dodge rolled out two 707-horsepower Hellcats last year. It's why Ford has decided to resurrect the GT for road and track. It's why in the depths of bankruptcy, General Motors continued work on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, not to mention the Z06. "Great brands are made one car at a time," Ford of Europe president Jim Farley said at the reveal of the Focus RS. Still, companies make those cars for different reasons. View 5 Photos Mainstream brands like Ford and Dodge want to build cars that get people talking, excite their bases and drive more potential customers into the showroom. They probably don't buy a Focus RS or a Hellcat, but suddenly the regular Focus hatch looks a bit hotter, and that V6 Charger seems to be just a touch more muscular. The halo of performance is alive and well in the eyes of automakers and their customers. "It's one of the most effective catalysts for ingenuity and innovation," said Joe Bakaj, vice president of product development for Ford of Europe. That also leads to a trickle-down effect. Some of the technologies inevitably make their way to other products. It's hard to think the new all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS that distributes torque front to rear and side to side won't be used in other vehicles. It's different for Ferrari and Porsche.
