This pickup was owned by a government agency (city) in South LA less than 100 miles from our location here in Lumberton, MS, until a few weeks ago was owned by them and used by an employee.  It has been on a strict maintenance schedule, has well over 100k miles but has plenty of life left in it!  It cranks right up, engine is strong, transmission is strong, brakes are good, air conditioning is cold, heat is hot and the tires can be seen in the photos.  We simply washed the pickup and checked it out mechanically, did not patch anything up or try to make it look better than it actually is!  The negative things to bring out are first of all the front seat has major damage, rips/tears, the front bumper has a few scratches in it, the hood has two large spots where the paint is chipped off, the passenger front turn signal/marker light is busted and needs to be replaced, the doors have a few scratches on each side where the city decal was removed, the driver’s outside of the pickup body has several scratches spots where the paint is chipped off, the tailgate is missing the outside latch, tailgate also has a serious gauge/hole in it and several spots where it is seriously scratched and paint chipping off, needs new tailgate, the rear bumper plastic is discolored, the plastic piece below the front bumper is cracked, the exhaust has been modified and is not extremely loud but louder than it came from the factory, the stereo works but the volume knob is tricky to operate, all of these issues can clearly be seen in the photos and have absolutely no effect on use and function of the pickup.  It was not wrecked and repaired or pieced back together, it was not flooded and has not been underwater, simply replaced with a new one because of age, not sold because of problems!  This is a used, not perfect 12-year old pickup, again we simply cleaned, made sure it was roadworthy and put on eBay, you will have to do a few things to make it perfect, other than what is mentioned in this listing the pickup is ready to hit the road, no repairs needed to drive it home and use on a daily basis!

The photos were taken the day before the listing, November 2, 2013, and show the SUV in its current condition, visit the link below for over 200 photos and 3 videos of the F-150~

J Mays on the 2015 Ford Mustang

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

J Mays, head of design at Ford, may be retiring from the company after 16 years, but not before showing the world his swan song: the 2015 Mustang. Ford officially revealed its new coupe and convertible to the public at events around the world on Thursday, including a live unveiling on ABC's Good Morning America, and Mays was in attendance at the automaker's home event in Dearborn, MI, which is where we caught up with him for a few words about his new baby.
"It's a joy" to design the Mustang, Mays told Autoblog, adding that this sixth-generation coupe is his "favorite design so far." Of course, the 2015 model takes cues from all of the generations that came before it, but Mays said it was important to edit down the specific elements from previous models, leaving just enough off to let the customer "participate and fill in the blanks."
"If it doesn't sell itself, you probably aren't a Mustang fan."

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.

Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems

Sun, 10 Mar 2013

The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
