In this auction offered to you by Rusty Nuts Originals in Greenville, SC is a very nice, very original, very solid 54 F100. The story behind the truck goes...it was a high school shop  class project nearly 30 years ago, owner passed away, and had been sitting in the garage for the last 28 years. Having been garage kept for the last 28 years, its in incredible shape. The entire cab and front half of the truck are rust free with one or two small dings. Original cab corners, floor boards, etc.The bed is not original to the truck and is not in the condition of the front half of the truck but is still in good shape. We bought the truck with two beds, a 54 bed and a 48 bed. The bed is a combination of the best of both, 48 bed sides, 54 fenders and tail gate. The bed has some surface pitting but no severe rust. With all that being said, this is an awesome shop or advertising truck or a very good start for a restoration. The truck runs and drives like a top, shifts well, and everything in and on the truck works like a new one, with the exception of the lazy vacuum operated wipers. Its got a set of brand new white stripe tires, new king pins and the rear signal/brake lights are new from LMC. The odometer reads 24,xxx but in South Carolina antique vehicles mileage are exempted on the titles, so we have to assume thats 124k miles. The truck doors are hand painted with a vintage A&W Rootbeer sign and the dash is pinstriped, but we are a full service shop and can accomodate and custom pinstriping or your shops logo, and we also grind whitewalls so these white stripes can be wide whites with a phone call, contact below for details.

It is offered with a clear SC title and as with all of our auctions, this vehicle carries no warranty and is represented truthfully to the best of our knowledge. Shipping will be entirely the winning bidders responsibility and a deposit of $1000.00 is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. This truck is also for sale locally so we reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Should you have any questions about the truck, please ask them prior to bidding via Ebay, direct email at Andy@rustynutsoriginals.com or call the shop at 864-386-6887 and don't forget to check us out on Facebook or just Google Rusty Nuts Originals to visit our website. 2024 Porsche Panamera; Rivian's surprise; Cadillac electrifies V | Autoblog Podcast #823

Fri, Mar 15 2024

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd. They start off discussing a couple of vehicles they've both driven — the 2024 Ford Maverick Tremor and the 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge 2WD. From there, they pivot to Byron's first drive of the 2024 Porsche Panamera, and then from there it's on to more electrified luxury in the form of the new Cadillac Lyriq. After that, it's on to news. Rivian made a big splash last week. Not to be upstaged, Cadillac decided to get in on the action by teasing an electric V model, the Opulent Velocity Concept. After that, it's time for a future classic; this week, it's the Dodge Magnum. They end the episode by spending listener Isaiah's money on some used stick-shift transportation.  Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Cadillac Escalade gets $5,000 discount to ward off Lincoln Navigator

Wed, Nov 8 2017

General Motors apparently isn't going to let early good reception for the redesigned Lincoln Navigator steal thunder from its own luxury SUV without a fight. It's offering a $5,000 discount on the purchase or lease of the Cadillac Escalade this month to any buyer who trades in a 1999 or newer Lincoln model, Bloomberg reports. GM spokesman Jim Cain told Bloomberg the incentive is being offered to keep prices competitive for the Escalade. The 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055, compared to $73,995 for the Escalade, but the outgoing version of the Navigator is selling for an average of around $53,000, compared with more than $80,000 on average for the Escalade, he said. The Escalade was the top-selling domestic luxury SUV in October and No. 4 in the segment, according to Motor Intelligence. It far outsold the Navigator, which last saw a refresh in 2015 and a full redesign in 2007. But Ford is hoping to gain back some ground with the new Navigator and updated Expedition, which also trails the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban in its segment. Bloomberg notes that one Morgan Stanley analyst estimates that GM owns a $2 billion annual pretax profit edge in the lucrative luxury sport utility segment. Our recent First Drive review called the new Navigator "far superior to its primary competitor, the Cadillac Escalade."Related Video:

VW going turbo-only in 3 to 4 years

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

This really was a matter of when, rather than if. Volkswagen will apparently be the first manufacturer to phase out naturally aspirated engines in favor of turbocharging its full slate. VW is kind of responsible for ushering in this push towards small-displacement, turbocharged engines that's taken the industry by storm. When it dropped its direct-injection, 2.0-liter turbo in the 2005 GTI it demonstrated that strapping an iron long to an engine can enhance the powertrain as a whole. VW made fuel economy gains, while also giving a linear, non-laggy turbo experience that it has replicated, model-after-model, to this day.
Speaking with The Detroit News, Volkswagen's executive Vice President of Group Quality, Marc Trahan, told the paper that, "We only have one normally aspirated gas engine, and when we go to the next generation vehicle that it's in, it will be replaced. So three, four years maximum."
Really, it's hard to get teary-eyed about either of these engines going away. VW has access to smaller powerplants that could easily match the performance of the 2.5 five-cylinder and the 3.6 V6, while gobbling up less fuel and providing a better driving experience. What we are sad about is that a similar statement about the extinction of NA engines came from the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering at Ford, Joe Bakaj. We'd certainly get teary-eyed over a world without Ford's excellent 5.0-liter V8.
