1976 Ford F100 With Utility Bed, 83,000 Original Miles!!!!! on 2040-cars
Elk River, Minnesota, United States
|
This vehicle was originally purchased by the State of Minnesota and used at Minnesota State University on campus for work related functions. The miles are original and the vehicle still has the 1996 tires that were installed at that time. The tires will need to be replaced for safety purposes. I purchased the vehicle a month ago to drive as a daily driver and have completed some work on it since purchasing it. Because I sold another vehicle and took a trade on it, I am going to drive the trade I accepted and in turn sell this truck. It is a great truck and runs really well. The transmission is strong and works well without any grinding, etc. The clutch is not new, I don't know if it is the original or not, but it still operates properly. Since the truck had been sitting for a few years, I have repaired the accelerator pump in the carb; I have installed new rear brake wheel cylinders and brake linings with new brake fluid; I have installed a new master brake cylinder; installed new mufflers on the dual exhaust system (Thrush Glass Packs) with new tips on the ends (Sounds Awesome); fixed an exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold at the tail pipe connection; repaired the window washing reservoir and tips at the windshield to insure that they work properly; all of the utility box doors operate and lock properly- and they are clean inside without much damage; all the lights work on the truck. This is not a perfect truck but without much more work on it to do I was planning on driving it as a daily driver. It turns a lot of heads driving down the road. Please only bid if you have the capacity and positive ebay history to substantiate your bid. I have placed a minimum sale price on it that I will accept. I will deliver in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and will assist your transportation carrier in making it available for pick-up, etc. I am requiring a $500 deposit on the bid acceptance within 24 hours after the final bid time line. Final payment needs to be in the form of cash or a certified check from a local bank that operates in Elk River, Minnesota so that I can be assured that payment is bankable. Thanks for looking and don't let this one get away, it is a great truck. I just sold my 1946 Chevrolet with a Utility Bed on it, an old Bell Lineman truck and the wife won't let me keep this truck and the trade-in I received selling the 46. That's life!!!

Ford doubling 1.0L EcoBoost engine production
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine hasn't been around that long, but it sounds like the engine is getting to be fairly popular in the automaker's global car lineup. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford has add a second shift that will allow its German engine plant to double daily output from 500 engines to 1,000.
The increased capacity is part of a plan to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year with this engine in Europe by 2015. Europe is currently the only market where the smallest of the EcoBoost engines is offered (including in the Focus pictured above), but US-spec Fiesta models will be getting this mill for 2014.
Three-cylinder engines are expected to continue to grow in popularity in coming years with the report indicating that global production of these engines will double by 2018 to 9.8 million units. General Motors, BMW and Mitsubishi are all expected to introduce three-cylinder engines in the near term, as well.
Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.
2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility shows up for duty in Chicago
Fri, Feb 13 2015The latest upgrade for the 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is all set to patrol the Windy City's streets with its debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. On the outside, the revised Ford police vehicle looks basically the same as the recently refreshed Explorer with a new grille and redesigned headlights. Inside, there's a restyled steering wheel and center console. Unlike the civilian model, though, the PI Utility gets heavy-duty brakes, a more robust cooling system, reinforced subframe mounts and larger diameter suspension springs for more strength. Under the hood, police forces get to choose between either a 3.7-liter V6 with 304 horsepower and 279 pound-feet of torque or a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of twist. Regardless of powertrain, these 'utes feature a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The transmission includes the awesome-sounding Pursuit Mode feature that switches over to more aggressive shifts when it detects harder driving to properly stop crime.
