This truck has so much work done to list. I have owned this truck now since 2007 and when I purchased it, it was in poor shape (however no rust.) I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours restoring this rust free truck. I went with an origial Ford color from 2005 Ford Zinc Yellow...from the pictures you can see the paint was done right! The body was pulled off the truck and POR-15 Rust Inhibitive coating was sprayed on undercarriage. All new Rancho RS9000 shocks were installed along with Fabritech ladder bars in the rear. The front DANA44 was rebuilt and a Detroit Locker installed with an ARB Red differential cover. Most of the undercarriage parts that came off including front coil springs, brackets for shocks and mounts were all powder coated. Front coil spings were powder coated Red. All new Grade 8 hardware installed everywhere as well as stainless steel. New exhaust ran with MagnaFlow stainless mufflers. Brakes were all gone through and new HAWK SuperDuty brake pads installed up front with new Red Powder Coated calipers along with Earl stainless brake lines. Truck has all stainless steel brake lines throughout truck! The Ford 9" rear end has new bearings along with a limited slip differential which makes it run on highways and streets smooth. The Ford 400M motor was rebuilt and rebuilt Aussie closed chamber heads were installed to wake up the motor. Edelbrock cam was installed along with Edelbrock intake manifold and street avenger carburetor. Most parts off motor were also powder coated. A new Saginaw power steering pump was installed and really removed the old Ford power steering problems. A new chrome alternator was also installed along with a Optima RedTop battery. All new wiring and cables installed in motor compartment. Aluminum pulleys were also installed. Headlights were also installed with new halogen style bulbs and wiring kit to brighten headlights. New aluminum Ford grill was installed. All front end wheel wells and radiator housing was pulled off and powder coated black. New hood springs installed along with all new rubber moldings for doors, hood, and glass. Alpine CD player installed with USB hook up. The old Ford gauges were replaced with a custom bezel and new AutoMeter Z gauges. All LED Green lighting installed inside all gauges to match stock look with a brighter LED light. The drivetrain was also gone through and the NP435 manual transmission was rebuilt and a new CenterForce clutch installed with a Ranger 27% overdrive. The Ranger overdrive is awesome and allows for highway cruising at low RPM's so better fuel economy. At 75MPH the engine idles at 2100 RPM's which is much better for cruising. The NP205 transfer case was also rebuilt. The driveshafts were also renewed with new u-joints and sleeves along with new yokes. This truck trully has been renewed. There really is too much to list here. Interior also has new carpet with insulation. Also has Corbeau Moab seats that are comfortable. New seat beats (lap beats as that what was stock in 73.) Grant leather steering wheel and aluminum kit installed. Interior trim and headliner are all new. The air conditioning doesn't work and parts were removed during motor restoration. Heater works awesome and new heater core and hoses installed. There is an electric fan and four core radiator that keeps the motor running cool through all conditions. Tires and wheels are in awesome shape and compliment the truck. I hope I have captured most of the work put into this truck. This sale is an as is sale. I do have a Word document list of all work done and when to the truck along with a lot of part numbers.

Hertz goes Dutch with Ford Focus ST-H
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Want to take a performance car for a ride? Hertz can make that happen. Spin by your local rental location (depending, of course, on availability) and you can take out a Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, even a Corvette as part of the Adrenaline Collection. Hertz's Dream Cars lineup even includes Porsches and AMGs. But the really interesting stuff is what you can't get anywhere else: cars built specifically for Hertz.
Back in 1966, Hertz had Ford cook up a special run of Mustang GT350H models in back with gold stripes. It became an icon in and of itself, and in 2008 Hertz had a new batch of Shelby GT-Hs made. Earlier this year, Hertz contracted Penske to deliver another fleet of specially-built Mustangs you can rent. But if your travel plans include a trip to the Netherlands, Hertz has a completely different type of specially-prepared Ford on offer for you.
Back in August, Ford delivered a couple of Focus STs made specifically for Hertz in Holland. Now it's expanded that fleet even further. The Ford Focus ST-H features the same 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four (and everything else) as the standard Focus ST, but gets that signature black exterior with gold stripes and a black leather interior with Recaro buckets. So in case a trip to Amsterdam doesn't hold enough thrills, now you can throw a hot hatch into the mix as well. Scope out the press release (in Dutch - isn't that weird?) below.
Chevy Traverse, Hyundai Santa Fe revealed; Buick Envista, BMW M4 CSL driven | Autoblog Podcast #790
Fri, Jul 21 2023In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor John Beltz Snyder. After some banter, including the discussion of an excellent tomato sauce recipe, they get into car reviews. Greg has been driving the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53, while John has been testing the BMW M4 CSL and Buick's new Envista crossover. There's lots of interesting news this week. Chevy revealed the 2024 Traverse with new looks, a new engine and on off-road(ish) trim. Hyundai gave us a glimpse at the wild styling of the next Santa Fe. Dodge might bring back the Stealth nameplate as an SUV, and that has implications for the Durango as well. Ford, after repeatedly raising prices, has turned around and significantly discounted the F-150 Lightning across all trims. The first Tesla Cybertruck has rolled off the line as a pre-production prototype. Finally, we reach in to the mailbag and help a listener decide what to do with cars for himself and his kids in this week's Spend My Money segment. Detroit 3 and UAW set for showdown over tiered wages
Mon, Mar 23 2015This week, thousands of United Auto Workers will converge on Cobo Center in Detroit for the Special Convention on Collective Bargaining, an every-four-year event that lets members tell UAW leaders what the negotiating priorities should be during contract negotiations. This is where a lot of sand and a lot of lines start coming together in preparation for contract negotiations between the UAW and the Detroit 3 automakers, which will happen later this year. Number one on the UAW agenda is the end of the two-tier wage system created in 2007 to help the automakers get through bankruptcy; veteran workers are paid the Tier 1 rate of around $29.00 per hour, new hires are paid the Tier 2 rate of between $15 and $20 and get about half the benefits of Tier 1. Tier 2 hiring has been an undoubted success for the automakers, allowing them to keep factories in the US and hire more workers. By agreement, it is capped at a certain percentage of each automaker's workforce, and while the union's ultimate position is to get rid of the dual-scale system entirely; one leader said Ford could easily afford the $335 million it would take to convert all its workers to Tier 1 out of its $6.9 billion in 2014 North American profit, and General Motors could do the same out of the $5 billion it is handing to investors through the (admittedly forced) share buyback. Other delegates say that at the very least they'd be happy with enforcement of the current caps in the new contract. The automakers, conversely, would welcome expansion of the Tier 2 ranks. Including benefits, import automakers pay workers "in the high $40 range" per hour, according to an analyst, while Ford and GM pay about $59 in wages and benefits per hour. More Tier 2 workers on the rolls would let those two companies get labor cost parity with the competition. Fiat-Chrysler pays wages closer to the imports because of special exceptions in its UAW contract that allow unlimited Tier 2 hiring; those exceptions will end on September 14 and bring FCA into line with the other domestics, unless the new contract maintains them. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne is opposed to the two-tier system, having called it "almost offensive." One analyst says the UAW might win a sizable pay raise for Tier 2 and a small increase for Tier 1, but the keystone issue will be how the hiring matrix can help the automakers keep overall wages in line with the imports.
