1971 FORD F100 CUSTOM TRUCK / 47,428 ORIGINAL MILES / 360 HP V8 2WD

I hate to have to sell this truck, but my wife is making me.  Says I have too many cars & projects.  However, this isn't a project, this is a running, working vehicle!

It has the original powerful 360 horsepower V8 engine, automatic on the column transmission, original seats, seat belts, vinyl interior, and 47k original miles!  It comes with the very nice tool box that you see in the pics, as well as the tow-hitch (minus the ball).  It has a kenwood cassette stereo with a decent speaker system and after-market steering wheel and temp gauges.

It has very little surface rust and no rust that is flaking or deteriorating the truck.  I do know the front driver's side querter panel has been replaced in it's past for a small accident that happened.  However, no issue other than that came about from the incident.  The one thing I had been working on prior to listing, was installing a new windshield wiper fluid bottle and hose.  The original just went out earlier this year.

It would take very little to make this a hot-rod or completely restored back to vintage beauty!

My boys love this truck and we are going to miss her!  Hopefully it will make the buyer just as happy as it has made us.

Payment - I can only accept cash for this purchase.  I'd prefer to meet at my bank in Liberty or Kearney, MO.  It's a public place, and I can deposit the funds without issue.  And you can drive your new "vintage" truck home from there.

Shipping - Sorry, no shipping. I can only do local pickup for this truck.  I live in Kearney, Missouri, but can meet you in Liberty, Missouri if that is easier.

US Ford Focus RS to be imported from Europe

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Rumors about the forthcoming Ford Focus RS are flourishing into what sounds like a very impressive new hot hatch. The latest scuttlebutt gives the first indication about when we might see a few of these fast Focuses on roads here in the US.
Unnamed insiders reportedly confirmed to The Truth About Cars that Ford plans to launch the Focus RS in the US in 2016. However, getting one might not be so easy - the boosted powertrain means the car would likely need to be imported from Europe. That's likely going to keep the total number available in the US rather low. The sources estimate a price tag that's a bit more expensive than the top Focus ST3, which starts around $28,500, plus $825 destination.
It seems that a pretty potent package comes for all of that cash, though. The Focus RS reportedly uses a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making between 325 and 350 horsepower, with a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system to get that muscle to the road. The test mules also wear more aggressive front and rear fascias, dual exhaust tips, larger brakes and sticky tires. It sounds like a great formula on top of the already enjoyable Focus ST.

Ford faces class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles without brake override systems

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

A total of 20 Ford customers are suing the automaker in a class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles "vulnerable to unintended acceleration." According to Reuters, the suit names 30 models built between 2002 and 2010 with electronic throttle control systems but without a brake override system. Those include the 2004-2012 F-Series pickups and the 2005-2009 Lincoln Town Car. Adam Levitt, a partner with the law firm of Grant & Eisenhofer says the plaintiffs in the case want "to be compensated for their economic losses by having overpaid for cars that contained defects." Levitt contends that the plaintiffs would not have bought their vehicles or paid less for them had they known there was no brake override system in place.
Ford began installing brake override systems in its vehicles beginning in 2010. In response to the lawsuit, Ford has pointed to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that indicated that unintended acceleration is mostly caused by driver error, saying in a statement that, "NHTSA's work is far more scientific and trustworthy than work done by personal injury lawyers and their paid experts."
Belville et al v. Ford Motor Co. will be heard in US District Court in the Southern District of West Virginia.

Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally lands on Google board

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally often referred to the Blue Oval as a technology company when he led the automaker. Now he'll be offering guidance to a different kind of technology firm: Google.
Mulally was appointed to Google's board of directors July 9, and late Tuesday, it was announced that he will serve on the company's audit committee. The veteran executive led Ford from September 2006 until he retired in June, succeeded by Mark Fields.
While Mulally will act as a board member - rather than in a managerial role - his presence adds credibility to Google's recently announced plans to produce an autonomous car. The ambitious program calls for 100 prototypes to begin testing later this summer. Production of the car is rumored to be in collaboration with a Detroit area performance company, Roush.
