1968 Ford F-100 Ranger longbed 1/2 ton 5 lug 1970's Thunderbird 460 CUI Engine and Manual Transmission Headers, Aftermarket 4 barrel Carburator - driver side header will need replaced or resurfaced, small exhaust leak. New plugs, cap and rotor, Air cleaner. comes with service history. If you were ever going to restore a 60's ford this would be a great start. Doors close and latch like factory new. Front tires will need to be replaced. Runs, Drives, Stops. Starts up every time. electric fan. I've only driving this truck around the neighborhood and it handles well. this is still a project, squishy brakes from sitting over a year prior etc, I would advise bringing a trailer or at least two good tires for the front. As-is where is. The paint looks great in photos but expect it to be 25+ years old and will need touch up in areas. I'm building another F100 so this one has to go, I saved this truck and after sorting it out, it's time to pass it on. Ford offering $10,000 in incentives for new F-150
Thu, Jul 16 2015Not two months ago, Ford posted lower-than-expected first quarter earnings partly because of production issues with the new F-150, but raised the year's profit outlook thinking the production issues were over. A month later we got word of more manufacturing problems due to a shortage of frames, leaving the company unable to fulfill demand. The problems not only ate into Ford's bottom line, but also its market share, since the F-Series truck has been the best-selling vehicle for the past 33 years. Inventory still isn't where Ford wants it, and won't be until the end of September. The pipeline is stocked enough, however, that Bloomberg reports The Blue Oval is putting up to $10,029 on the hood in some parts of the country, and only on certain trims, as a way to stay competitive with rival truck makers. Ford lost 100,000 units of production during the changeover of the two plants that build it. The frame shortage compounds that, which has led to F-150 sales that are down 2.4 percent through the first half of the year. F-150 market share in June 2014 was 33 percent, this June it was 28 percent. Meanwhile, sales over at General Motors and Ram are climbing - Chevrolet Silverado sales were up 18 percent year-on-year in June. Ford said its incentive spending on the F-150 is down overall this year, and its average transaction price of $44,100 remains the highest in the segment. There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.
Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track
Thu, 29 Aug 2013The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood.
