1968 Ford F 350 Crew Cab on 2040-cars
Sacramento, California, United States

Stuff i know. It's a 1968 Ford F350 Crew Cab Long bed. Really clean truck has extra heavy duty load helper suspension in back. Previously had a monster in bed and over the cab camper that the previous owner used while prospecting a few weeks a year. the milage shows as 11XXX its probably not correct but the previous owner had several vehicles and only used this one for camping/prospecting so its possible. Previous owner removed camper before sale. Its not available or part of this sale. He added two extra saddle mount tanks in addition to the stock behind the seat tank so he could really get deep back country. I have no idea what the total capacity is. they can be switched manually by a small switch on the floor between the drivers seat and the door. This truck is a California truck, floors and frame are solid with surface rust only it has had a cheapo repaint to the stock white sometime in its past and some areas are thinning and a few bubbles are present. Only one serious dent on drivers side bed and a few in the grill tailgate is in the bed in these pictures it is the original matching tailgate. The described dent will be shown in pics. The truck has the original 360 Fe and 4 speed the current motor is Frozen solid. If this auction doesn't meet the reserve I will basically pull it apart repaint and go nuts with the LMC catalog after I rebuild the 360 Known issues The 360 is frozen truck is not running. Will need engine rebuilt or replaced. the 360 is an Fe style motor so 352/360/390/428 will all drop right in and LMC sells the kits to allow a 460 or 289/351 swaps as well. there is one sizable dent see pics The only things I can see that are missing is the radio, and a few of the interior window handles knobs are missing the crank is there but the knob part is missing on a couple of the doors. Also the previous owner for some reason put the newer style chrome wheels on the front only. I am currently hunting down a set of original steel wheels as I prefer them. if I can find a set of original wheels before auction ends Iw ill include them. The chrome is showing some pitting I have done my best to describe the item to the best of my ability I am not a professional if you have any questions please ask if you would like to inspect the vehicle please contact me to make arrangements I reserve the right to stop the auction if the vehicle sells locally first. The truck is free and clear in my name ready to go. No warranty No shipping Vehicle will not leave until funds are cleared. On Jun-29-14 at 21:14:47 PDT, seller added the following information: #### ADDED INFO### I HAVE ADDED PICS OF THE CAB MOUNTS AND THE FLOORS AND THE DRIP RAILS DUE TO A LOT OF EMAILS ASKING FOR THE INFO. I HAVE ALSO PAID THIS TRUCK CURRENT IN CA DMV THERE IS NO BACK FEES OR WAITING ON THE TITLE ITS ALL READY TO GO. UNFORTUNATELY THERE WERE SOME BACK FEES DUE TO PREV OWNER NEVER FILING NON OPP. I AM SURE YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT CA/DMV IS LIKE WHEN YOU DONT FOLLOW THIER RULES THAT IS WHY I HAVE A RESERVE SET. AS I MENTIONED IN THE ADD I PICKED THIS TRUCK UP JUST A WEEK OR SO AGO WITH THE INTENTION OF BUILDING A FAMILY CRUISER THATS WHY IT LOOKS SO DIRTY AND THERE IS STILL MOSS IN THE DRIP RAILS IN TAKING THESE PICS I FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND PBACK ARE NEAR PERFECT BUT THE PASSANGER SIDE DRIP RAIL HAS SOME DISCOLORATION. YOU CAN SEE THIS IN THE PICS IT LOOKS LIKE THE MOSS GREW UNDER THE PAINT. ALSO THE PREV OWNER HAD A HUGE CAMPER THAT THE SLEEPER PORTION WENT ALL THE WAY OVER THE CAB AND THEN IT WAS PARKED UP NEXT TO HIS HOUSE SO I AM THINKING THE MOSS JUST GREW BETTER IN THAT SHADE. ON TAPPING AND LOOKING I FOUND NO RUST THROUGH AND ON THE INSIDE ROOF SHOWS NO DISCOLORATION INSIDE. WE WHERE AT A SHOW AND THE WIFE SAW A WAGON SHE HAS TO HAVE SO I AM SELLING THIS FOR THAT. ITS REALLY THE CLEANEST CREW I HAVE EVER HAD I JUST DONT HAVE THE ROOM FOR A WAGON AND THIS TO OR ID JUST KEEP IT. |

Ford's cars being held up in Chinese ports in trade tensions with U.S.
Wed, May 9 2018BEIJING — Ford Motor Co's imported vehicles are being held up at Chinese ports, three people with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, underscoring how U.S. goods are facing increased customs scrutiny in China amid a tense trade standoff. The three people said Ford and Lincoln vehicles were facing unusual delays at customs, with officials asking for extra technical checks. Two of the people said U.S.-made models of some German carmakers, mainly SUVs, being brought into China, were also affected. Ford was being asked to do extra checks on emission components, said a China-based Ford executive familiar with the matter, asking not be named because of the sensitivity of the issue. China's customs agency did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The holdups add to a growing list of American products facing issues at China's borders, as officials try to avert a full-blown trade war. Some trade experts said they believe Beijing is sending a defiant warning to Washington in response to sweeping U.S. trade demands made on China last week. Reuters reported Tuesday that China had ramped up inspections of pork shipped from the United States, after the country's customs agency said it would step up quarantine checks on American apples and logs. The second person, a China-based industry official with knowledge of the matter, said the delays for Ford — as well as some U.S.-made cars from BMW and Mercedes-Benz — had been going on for the last two weeks. "Customs pretends there are technical non-conformities of some nature that won't allow them to clear these U.S.-made cars through customs, but the U.S.-China trade frictions must be the background to this," he said. "Although no one will officially admit it." Responding to a request for comment from Reuters, a BMW spokesman said that "U.S.-made BMW cars have not been delayed at the ports as of last week and before." A Daimler spokeswoman said it was "monitoring the situation closely" regarding ongoing trade talks between China and the United States, but that she could not speculate further on other matters. The third person said the Ford issue, which had been noted by the United States government, and other holdups facing American goods, were clearly related to the trade dispute. A Ford spokeswoman in Shanghai when asked about the matter said: "We are closely monitoring our situation at the port." She declined to comment further.
Mustang retakes monthly pony car sales crown from Camaro
Wed, Dec 3 2014Going back to their origins in the Swinging '60s, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have been fierce rivals for fans' hearts and dollars. Historically, the Ford often led in volume, but Chevy took the muscle car top spot in 2009 upon the Camaro's rebirth. However, with the launch of the latest Blue Oval pony car, the tide is turning back in Ford's favor. November was the first full month of sales for the new 2015 Mustang, and according to TheDetroitBureau.com, the model did spectacularly well. The Blue Oval shifted 8,728 of them, up 62 percent from same month last year, with the automaker proclaiming it the model's best November sales since 2006. Conversely, 4,385 units of the Camaro were delivered, down 13.5 percent year-over-year, meaning its sales were roughly half that of the new-generation Mustang. Ford is understandably happy with the results, and product development director Raj Nair even hinted to TDB that another version of the Mustang might be unveiled at January's North American International Auto Show. Rumor has it that the model will be the even more potent Shelby Mustang GT350R. Despite the Mustang's November success, the Camaro outsells it year to day. So far in 2014, Ford has sold 73,124 Mustangs versus 79,669 examples of the Camaro. With December offering the last chance for an overtake, the Bowtie may yet remain king for this year's sales crown. A new Camaro is peeking over the horizon, as well. It's reportedly moving to the Alpha platform used by the Cadillac ATS, and production could start in late 2015. Prototypes are already testing at the Nurburgring, and camouflaged examples have been spotted weirdly being compared to its '80s forefather.
Ford halves summer shutdown, ramps SUV production
Tue, Jun 2 2015For the third consecutive year, Ford is reducing the length of its summer shutdown for several factories to keep up with high demand for some models. This year, the decision means 40,000 more units of popular trucks and crossovers like the F-Series, Edge, Escape, and Explorer. Rather than the normal two-week break, workers at the Chicago, Dearborn Truck, Kansas City, Kentucky Truck, Louisville, and Oakville factories will only get a week off starting on June 29. Additionally, 10 plants for producing components to support these assembly lines will also have the shorter vacation. The rest of the Blue Oval's manufacturing locations will shutdown from June 29 to July 10 for maintenance and retooling. According to Ford, the decision comes because of low inventories and high demand on some of its popular models. The 2015 F-150 is lasting around 20 days at dealers, and the Edge spends an average of 10 days before being sold. Ford is hardly alone in deciding to keep locations open during the normal summer break, though. FCA recently made the decision not to shutdown four assembly plants and all of its factories for components to keep up with demand for models like the Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Durango. In response to increased customer demand, Ford will add capacity this summer to produce its most popular trucks and utilities Ford will shorten its summer shutdown from the traditional two-week summer shutdown to one week for a majority of North American assembly plants, increasing production by close to 40,000 units In April, Ford F-150 was turning at just 20 days on dealer lots, Edge sales were up 78 percent, and Escape and Explorer remained in tight supply. 2016 Explorers are now hitting dealer lots In response to customer demand for Ford's newest products, the company this year will produce close to 40,000 extra units by idling select plants for only one week during what has been the traditional two-week summer shutdown.. "To meet surging customer demand for our top-selling trucks and utilities, we are continuing to run our North American facilities during the traditional two-week summer shutdown in order to add close to 40,000 units," said Bruce Hettle, Ford vice president, North America Manufacturing.
