Up for auction is a rare 1963 Ford F100 Shortbed PROJECT truck, with it's original 292, and 3 speed manual transmission. This was the last year of the unibody trucks, which means the bed is attached to the cab. The truck still wears it's original paint, and besides the radio it's a very original truck! The truck is a project truck, I got her to run and drive but, she sat for many years and the carb needs to be rebuilt... idles rough. She starts up, no smoking or knocking. Has lots of caked on oil from over the years. It shows 18,000 miles on the odometer, but the truck actually has 118,000 original miles on the truck. The truck has some rust in the drivers floor, and the drivers side body mount. Besides a few other small rust spots that's it for the rust issues. The cab mount on the drivers side should be replaced, or you can just weld it up. The truck will run and drive on it's own power, and the 3 on the tree shifts ok. I drove the truck around the block after I got it running, and it made me smile. The truck has a new Generator, new fuel pump, new voltage regulator, and she the charging system works great. The truck has a New Windshield too. The truck will be sold to the highest bidder, NO RESERVE!!
The outside of the truck has the normal dents from being used as a truck for many years. The nice thing is the bed has only minor surface rust. The bed is actually in very good shape for it's age. The tailgate as you can see has some dents in it, and some rust towards the lower left side. The tail gate stills opens, closes, and the latches both work. The body is very clean with just some minor rust in the lower parts of the doors. The windows roll up and down just fine, and the doors open and close great. The hood hinges are sprung of course. The truck for it's age is in very good condition. The nice thing is the wiring is in good shape under the hood, and nobody has hacked it up! And this truck would be a great candidate for restoration or for a Ratrod shop truck.
The truck is a nice PROJECT type truck! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the truck! The truck is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 3 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The truck must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!! choice!!
On Oct-01-13 at 13:24:50 PDT, seller added the following information:
I forgot to add that the trucks lights all work, blinkers work, and the gas gauge work... plus it has a new sending unit, and the tank was flushed and acid washed also. The temp gauge works, and the Generator and Oil pressure light both work, and after the truck starts they both go off. The charging system works great. I appreciate all the email questions in regards to the truck, and if you have any questions that you need to speak to me about in person, please call me at 702-321-2457, Thanks Shawn

2015 Ford Mustang renders reveal look of the real thing
Tue, 15 Oct 2013This is, according to the pony-car obsessed kids over at Mustang6G.com, the closest, most accurate rendering of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang to date. Artis Chazcron used a combination of Ford CAD images and information from assorted spy shots to assemble a fairly handsome car, albeit one that conforms to the tired cliché of being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
Now, it's very important to note that these are still speculative renders, and that they only represent the base car - that could explain the lack of the Mustang's vestigial side scoops, along with other, newer styling cues that Mustang6G seems to think will arrive on production models. Those items include a new, double-bubble roof, although the Mustang aficionados claim that even if it were present, it'd barely be visible from these angles.
The front end is pretty spot on, compared to what we've seen from earlier spy shots, while the tail, with its interesting light design is something new. The louvered taillights look quite different from the current version, obviously, though Mustang has gone the whimsical route with taillights before. Also, note the new rear diffuser uses an integrated reverse light and rear foglight, the latter of which is required for sale in Europe.
Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below.
