1955 Ford F-100 Custom Cab

This is a Georgia truck that has been parked for 10 years now, and was kept inside, and has a very nice solid body with one small rust spot that is in the bottom seal where the door closes on the drivers side, and the very bottom of the head board panel where the wood goes in the bed. The drivers side post has a split in the metal that just needs to be welded, and smoothed up. Floor boards inside the cab, cab corners, bed, fenders, hood are all in great condition with only a couple of dents on the front fenders. It has a tilt wheel with a power steering gear box, but the power steering pump on the engine is missing. I'm not sure if they ever had the power steering working on it just the power steering box. It does steer easy like it is. Frame is original, and has not been sectioned as it still has the original front axle under it. I was told that it has a 390 engine in it with a automatic transmission, and ford 9" rear end. If you would like me to check any numbers on the running gear to confirm this I would be happen to do so. The data plate is missing on the glove box lid, but I know where you can get these, and they will stamp your info on it. The vin# is on the frame (see photo) of the vin#. I have not tried to crank the engine so I don't know the condition of it. The truck has some extra leaf springs in the rear that would be easy to remove if you wanted to. The front has air shocks on it that I aired up, and when I did the plastic fitting to the air line broke off so I wasn't able to kept them aired up. Glass is good except the back glass has a crack. Tires look to be in good condition. Over all this is a good project truck with a low reserve. Georgia was a none title state in 1955, so they want give me a title for it so it is being sold on a bill of sale only. If you have any questions you can contact me at 404-867-3163 cell Thanks Terry

Ford recalling 850,000 cars and SUVs for airbag issues

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

Ford has announced a major recall of 850,000 vehicles from model years 2013 and 2014 due to a problem with the "restraints control module."
According to Ford, a short circuit could develop in the module, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate. In more severe cases, dependent on where the short develops, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not work in the event of an accident. The problems can be more wide-ranging than that, too, as systems that rely on information from the control module, such as the stability control can be affected.
With 850,000 vehicles affected, it's no surprise that some of Ford's volume leaders are covered. That includes the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans, as well as the incredibly recall-prone Escape and the C-Max MPV.

Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.

Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.
