1951 Ford Custom Hot Rod Truck
This truck was F-1 Truck of the year in 1994 at the F-100 Super Nationals. This is the one truck that you have been dreaming of owning and now is your chance. We are selling this truck for a friend of the family due to his age. This truck has been his passion since the late 80's when he began customizing this one of a kind truck. All attention to detail is exceptional. This truck has a custom red paint job and custom tan cloth interior and all is in great condition, Under the hood is a 350 crate motor which has only about 1500 miles on it. The V8 engine is equipped with 3 deuces. You will notice that from the pictures of the truck when it was in Hot Rod Magazine it shows a blower with two four barrel carbs. the carbs. were removed and replaced with 3 Deuces. The truck has hydraulic front end to raise the truck off the ground when driving it and it is sitting on a Ford Mustang two front end and it has a 9 inch Ford Rear End. It also has a hydraulic rear bed that is in great working condition. The bed is custom made with varnished wood inserts along with a custom vinyl bed cover. The bed cover tilts to the side it is awesome. The customer has invested over $75,000 in this truck back in the late 80's and early 90's. This truck will not disappoint anyone who chooses to buy this one of a kind truck. All parts of this truck on the exterior and interior and the underneath are in exceptional working order. Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
2014 Ford Cobra Jet announced with new colors, parachute mount
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Ford's drag-strip-ready Mustang Cobra Jet is back for 2014, and it's sporting a few changes to make it even better - both in competition and while sitting still. Rolling off the assembly line ready for duty in the NHRA Stock or Super Stock classes, production of the 2014 Cobra Jet is limited to just 50 units.
Racing upgrades for 2014 include the addition of a new three-speed transmission and a parachute mount, and while these will make the car better in the quarter mile, the Cobra Jet's new colors will make it look better tearing down the track. Buyers can now get their racecars painted up in Gotta Have-It Green or a custom, Cobra Jet-exclusive matte black hue. Ford and Ford Racing have already teamed up to make this an incredible factory drag racer with a full rollcage, massive Hoosier slicks, a race-tuned suspension setup and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. Now, if only wheelie bars came standard...
Unlike the confusing third-party ordering system announced for the COPO Camaro, all you need to snatch up a 2014 Cobra Jet is $97,990 and good timing (as the cars will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis).
