Up for auction is a 1997 Ford Explorer Limited AWD. It has an automatic transmission with a 5.0HO 302 and there are 171,000 miles on the clock.  This vehicle runs and drives fine. The interior is in good shape with Moon roof and tan leather interior. It has a Multi-CD changer in the console. There are no check engine lights, air bag lights or anti-lock brake lights. The entire front suspension was rebuilt a few years ago and it received all new shocks and brakes at the time. Everything on this vehicle works. This would make a great beach vehicle, winter beater as it is excellent in the snow and sand. It would also be great for a first time driver. It will need a few things to pass inspection, It needs a new muffler and the emergency brake needs to be adjusted. The rims are in pretty ugly but they function fine (clear coat is peeling off). Great for the winter. I will also include a spare set of rims in excellent condition with the sale. I think I have covered everything, but if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.

Ford Mondeo Hybrid could beat unloved diesels in Europe

Wed, Feb 11 2015

Predicting changes in the European auto market isn't easy, and Ford is hedging its bets there with the introduction of the Mondeo Hybrid. The Blue Oval has no expectation of the electrified version of the sedan being a rollicking sales success, but the model is a fuel-efficient alternative in case the recent backlash against diesel turns into an outright ban somewhere. This is the first time Ford is selling a hybrid version of the Mondeo (a cousin to the Fusion in the US) in Europe. The vehicle pairs a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder with a 1.4-kWh battery pack to make a total of 185 horsepower and emit 99 grams per kilometer of CO2. The Blue Oval expects to sell around 100,000 units of all versions of the sedan annually there, according to Automotive News Europe. However, fewer than 5,000 of those are predicted to be the gas-electric model. "Legislation around Europe is so different it's very difficult to predict," Roelant de Waard, Ford of Europe sales boss, said to ANE. "If you're betting only on one horse you might be lucky, but you also may be very unlucky." Ford is probably smart to have alternatives ready, and it also already offers the Focus Electric and hybrid C-Max there. Governments in Europe are rapidly turning against diesel, especially in France. The country considered offering buyers 10,000 euros ($11,300) if they trade in an old oil-burner on a new electric vehicle, and the prime minister calls backing the fuel for so long a mistake. The UK's Labour Party is making similar declarations. Are you the next Ford Edge? [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.
UPDATE: Substituted clearer image - thanks, Sean!
