I will be a lot more honest about this vehicle then the previous seller was with me.  I purchased this vehicle with the intention of fixing and using for regular towing, but vehicle needs more work/investment then I am willing to put into it.  I do have clear title in hand.

The vehicle does run and can be driven for short distance, but I suggest towing or trailering it to your location if you are going to take it out of town.  I have only owned for a short period of time, but will share what I know and what I was told by previous owner.  Vehicle appears to have a strong running engine and transmission shifts fine.  All power options work (did not test heated mirrors but was told they do) and I have tested them all, including the self leveling air suspension and cd changer.  Vehicle has 4WD, AWD, and 2WD options and was told all worked, but honestly have only driven it in 2WD mode.  I see no reason why they would not work.  As a result this vehicle would make an excellent parts vehicle if you need to replace or repair something on current Expedition.  There is a tear in the side of the driver's seat in the leather (see pics), but besides that the interior leather is in great shape.  Has a K & N style filter and chrome air intake (see pics).

The hood is delaminating (see pics) and there are various nicks, scratches, etc. on paint.

If you want to restore this to a running vehicle for use then please see what is wrong with vehicle below.  I have listed everything and noted what can be bypassed and still drive the vehicle.

The BAD:

Original listing had wheel wobble when driven - needs front idler arm and ball joints and an alignment to correct completely.

Grinding noise when driving - front calipers were replaced recently by previous owner but done incorrectly so they need to be removed and reinstalled or possibly replaced.

Master cylinder was replaced by previous owner, but is bad and needs to be swapped out again.  As a result it can cause brake pressure when brakes are not depressed, so if driving and it engages it will feel like it is dragging and can smell brake burning, so this is why I do not suggest driving more than short distance.  This and the calipers being on incorrectly could continue to cause more damage if continually driven.

I have estimates from local shop for all of the above repairs if interested - please contact me.

I was told shifter arrow did not line up, but in reality the column shifter also has to be played with to shift from gear to gear and is hard to get into park.  That combined with the arrow not lining up makes you have to feel what position you are in when you shift.  Vehicle can be driven with this unrepaired and not sure how much it will cost to repair.  I was able to figure it out with no issues after driving only a couple of times, but it is going to be annoying if you plan to drive it regularly.

Was told it had exhaust leak by previous owner and found that one of the bolts attaching the exhaust to the manifold broke off and was clamped back to together.  This would involve redrilling or replacing manifold to correct completely.  Also exhaust hangers appear to be missing and is held by wire (see pics).   I did not inspect exhaust further than that.

Vehicle has been done South, but according to car history it spent time in New York.  As a result, the rear undercarriage is severely rusted and the rear trailing arms need to be replaced if planning on driving the vehicle. One actually has rusted part way through (see pic).  I don't suggest driving vehicle for more than short time before repairing if not parting it out.

If you have any other questions about vehicle that I have not addressed in listing or pictures, please contact me.

Hot-selling Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator get production boost

Mon, Feb 12 2018

Ford is investing an additional $25 million in its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville to increase by 25 percent production of the hot-selling and all-new Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs. The investment adds to $900 million in previously announced spending at the plant, which also builds F-Series Super-Duty pickups and employs 8,400 workers. Assembly-line workers are putting in overtime and working voluntary weekend shifts to keep up with demand. The new investment will cover upgrades to the assembly line but does not involve further hiring, Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker says. The popularity of the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator is a bright spot as Ford stock has been battered by Wall Street amid concerns concerns about the automaker's future vision and slowness to detect trends. Ford says the investment is an example of its bid to improve "operational fitness," one of CEO Jim Hackett's common refrains. Ford says Navigator retail sales more than doubled in January, and Navigators are spending an average of just seven days on Lincoln dealership lots as customers trade in vehicles including Land Rovers and Mercedes-Benz. Nearly 85 percent of buyers are opting for high-end Black Label and Reserve trim packages, contributing to an average transaction price increase of more than $21,000 in January compared to a year ago. The 2018 Navigator won the North American Truck of the Year award and also topped a Detroit News poll of public favorites at last month's Detroit Auto Show. Sales of the Expedition, meanwhile, were up almost 57 percent last month as the full-size SUVs also spent an average of just a week on dealer lots. Platinum trim models represented 29 percent of sales, pushing transaction price increases up $7,800. Ford gave the 2018 Expedition an all-aluminum body to save mass in its first significant redesign since 2007. The plant last year got nearly 400 new robots, mainly in the body shop, to help increase line speed, and Ford added a robot lab where employees can test software tweaks or troubleshoot issues away from the factory floor. The Louisville plant also benefits from extensive new data analytics, with seven big-screen monitors providing minute-by-minute updates showing progress against hourly targets or alerting workers to pending parts shortages. A huge spare-parts "vending machine" lets workers more quickly locate needed parts and keep inventory at necessary levels.

Holy crime-fighting Ford F-150, Batman!

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

What would Batman drive for his weekly trips to Home Depot for the bits and pieces needed to keep his lair deep below Wayne Manor in tip-top condition? Certainly not the Batmobile - there's no way a 4x8 sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, not to mention the fact that jet turbine engines have an unfortunate tendency to set trailers on fire when towing...
No, what Batman needs is a pickup truck. The boys from Ford teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports to build just such a machine, and it has just debuted at Comic Con. Designed by Jared Barris, grandson of the legendary kustomizer George Barris, the 2012 F-150 pickup you see here, dubbed Crime Fighter, is painted Tuxedo Black with Ferrari Red highlights and is affixed with fins on each side of the truck bed. It's nothing if not unique.
Well, it's at least unique for now. According to Ford, Galpin in Southern California is willing to take orders for customers looking to don a cape and hit the town for a night of crime-fighting action. Or trips to Home Depot. Check out our high-res image gallery and then scroll down for the official description from Ford. We're waiting for details such as pricing and build time from Ford, and we'll update this post if and when we hear back.

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.
