2001 Ford EXCURSION Limited CUSTOM 7.3 Power Stroke 4x4 I don't even know how to start describing this truck...I have
seen some conversions out there, but I'm certain you won't find any one quite
as nice as this - it's one of a kind!. This is our dream truck. It's the right
truck for those who absolute love the roomy feeling and
comfort, appreciate a sleek vehicle, but won't settle for anything less
than the best diesel motor you can have to move you. We invested a LOT of
time and money rebuilding this baby, and here it is! Please read the description carefully as we did to include all
information we have about the truck.
WHAT WE DID 15k miles ago, engine was completely rebuilt with new seals (headgasket, crank seals, water pump) and new injectors. Transmission was rebuilt. Dual tail pipe from a 2010 F350. 20" XD Rock Start wheels. Tires in good condition. New break pads. We started this project 2 years ago, originally for us to keep. Back then the 2013 trucks were so new there was no aftermarket parts available to purchase and the junk yards didn't even have them available for sale. So here's the list of parts we replaced on the truck and what much it costed. This truck in not, by any means, the kind of truck you will go check the value at the Blue Book. With all these adaptions and conversions, his is a custom truck - one of a kind! $3000.00 Rockstar wheels and new tires $800.00 Ford OEM take offs running boards $900.00 Ford OEM take offs front and rear bumpers with harness and fog lights $1200.00 Ford OEM Grille bought used on ebay $400.00 Ford OEM Headlights bought on ebay (said were new never used) $1500.00 Ford NEW Fenders and Hood from dealer $400.00 new carpet from Ford $500.00 aftermarket mirrors $230.00 Ford NEW Cawl Mouldings $800.00 Ford NEW Radiator support and Fenders support $700.00 Ford take offs fender flares $1000.00 New Pioneer DVD installed (it can play dvd while you are driving - awesome when drive with kids) $175.00 used Ford OEM Exhaus End Pipe ou of 2010 truck + installation $1200.00 front 4x4 axle with 3.73 ratio $2000.00 rebuilt transmission and transfer case + the lift kit + parts installation and paint + engine rebuilt I'm scared to add the numbers. There are many things I forgot to list. Just wanted to show how much I spent. It took one year to get the truck done as it was our personal project vehicle. We have been driving the truck for the last year, mainly on weekends with the family. It's an awesome truck to have, kids love the DVD player and the extra room on the truck. Everyone rides comfortable and happy. So there you have it. Plain and simple, nothing shady. Let me know if you have any questions. e chose not to inspect the truck in Truck is located in ***** 24 pictures are not
enough to showcase this beautiful truck.
TERMS OF Please read before you bid: This is how it looks with the manual transfer case. On the detail - front and rear springs have 7 leafs each - that can handle a lot of weight without compromising the truck! You can pull any trailer with this Excursion. |

Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.
Ford F-150 extended cab struggles in IIHS small overlap test
Thu, Jul 30 2015Update: Ford issued a statement to Autoblog to clarify the results of the test and dispute the IIHS repair cost estimates. A quote from a Ford representative has been added to the story. See the full statement below the IIHS press release. Of all the vehicles undergoing crash tests this year, few will be as closely watched as the new 2015 Ford F-150. That's not only because it remains the top-selling vehicle in America year after year, but also because it features an aluminum body instead of steel. While the F-150 performed well in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety test, one factor prompted the institute to undertake a second round of testing that uncovered a problem. Like most full-size pickups, the F-150 is available in several cab styles: the regular two-door, the extended SuperCab and the four-door SuperCrew. The IIHS typically takes the most popular version of a particular model for testing, and in the Ford truck's case that meant the SuperCrew. The F-150 performed well in all the tests the IIHS put it through, including the small overlap test in which the vehicle is driven 40 miles per hour into a five-foot-tall barrier impacting the front left corner of the vehicle. Its overall performance in the tests earned the F-150 a Top Safety Pick rating, missing out on the higher Top Safety Pick + rating only because it doesn't have an automatic braking system. But how do the other versions of Ford's best-seller hold up? Given that even less popular versions of the F-150 still sell more than many other vehicles on the market, the IIHS put an extended cab through the same battery of tests. It performed comparably except in one area: the small overlap test. In that case, the extended cab model's steering column was pushed eight inches into the cabin (dangerously close to the crash test dummy's chest), the dummy's head missed the airbag almost entirely and hit the instrument panel, and the dummy's legs would risk sustaining "moderate" injuries. The reason for the disparity is that "Ford added structural elements to the crew cab's front frame to earn a good small overlap rating and a Top Safety Pick award but didn't do the same for the extended cab," according to the Institute's chief research officer David Zuby. "That shortchanges buyers who might pick the extended cab thinking it offers the same protection in this type of crash as the crew cab.
Seinfeld's Porsches, '61 Ferrari lead the way at Gooding Amelia Island sale
Tue, Mar 1 2016If you're in the market for a sports car with celebrity provenance or just an incredibly well-preserved high-performance machine, then you'll want to check out Gooding & Company's Amelia Island auction in Florida on March 11. The highlight of the sale is likely 18 cars, mostly Porsches, from Jerry Seinfeld's collection, but there's more to see than just the comedian's sporting metal. While several of Seinfeld's cars carry auction estimates in the millions, they aren't the most valuable at the sale. That honor falls on a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider, which could sell for between $15 million and $17 million. This one is among the 37 examples with covered headlights, and it has some theatrical provenance after appearing in the Sophia Loren film Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. If your tastes skew more American, then one of 31 Ford GT40 MKI road cars is also among the lots. Gooding expects the rare coupe to sell for between $3.2 million and $3.6 million. Ford originally used this GT40 for dealer promotions, but it eventually fell into private hands. Even today, its multiple owners have only covered around 3,200 miles in it. Gooding also expects a 1931 Duesenberg Model J Disappearing-Top Convertible Coupe with a body by Murphy to bring $2.5 million to $3 million. The auction house claims this might be the "most original" example left because of a history of owners who kept it for long periods – and the vehicle never needed a complete restoration. Some lots carry more attainable estimates like $35,000 for a 1962 MGA. You can check out all the listings on Gooding's online catalog and some of the highlights in the gallery above. You've probably read the news about Seinfeld's Porsches, but here's a refresher: The collection includes amazing cars like a 550 Spyder, 917/30 Can-Am Spyder, and a 718 RSK.
