2000 Ford Excursion Limited Sport Utility 4-door 7.3l Custom, Lifted, on 2040-cars
Lynchburg, Virginia, United States
194k happy miles! steel crank. New Bosch injectors, glow plugs, alternator, cold air, exhaust, banks spool, chip. 24 honest hwy mpg. (hwy is almost all we use it for) Does nice with cold starts. Never have to ad oil between changes, no blow by, no leaks. Impeccably maintained, Simply the smoothest, best running 7.3 we have encountered. New Art Car, diesel pro. transmission with ceramic OD. Just what the doctor ordered! Recent ball joints and tie rod ends. No play, very tight front end, even with the lift. Double shocked with eight inch lift. 20X35 Dunlap's. The tires will easily pass inspection but consider replacing them within the next few months. This size has been nice for fuel mileage and handling. I'm certain it can accommodate up to 40's with the lift. The Amp research electronic steps are the only way to go with a lift like this for ease and comfort. There are no dings or dents to speak of. The paint looks good but is starting to show some age if you look close enough with a few stone chips, very light scratches, and hazing that goes away when we wax it. None of these I'm able to capture with our camera but I hand wash and dry it, so I know they are there. I rhino lined the rocker areas, added wider well moldings and a complete custom cowl hood that give it a nice beefy look. We will easily remove the vinyl # 27 if you wish. For entertainment on those fun long trips you have a 12 inch electronically retractable doss screen with theater surround sound that also can play on the top of the line Pioneer HDD Avis-21 head unit. The Avis is equipped with "gracenote" memory for 2000 songs. (hopefully you'll like the ones we have already downloaded in the memory). It also has full Nav, Back up camera with infa red, Sirius and cell station for your Pandora. There is $9000 in this system. A custom base unit was built "in" the center console, all the amps are hidden and out of the way, custom sound boxes were built in the doors, No expense spared, professionally and neatly tucked out of the way. The leather seats have memory foam lumbar support, heat, gator skin bolsters and ostrich arm rests. No wear, rips, or tears. Built in 110 inverters, LED spot and interior lights, Remote start and stop, Dual AC, cruise, every gauge, every switch, every feature, works as it should with no issues. This awesome, beastly, traveling coach, has been to the ski hills in Tahoe, redwood forests, Niagara falls, all over Canada, Florida, Vail Colorado, Montana, Yellowstone, and most all the national parks with consistent dependability and safety for the family. My kids have grown and we no longer need anything this size. Buy with confidence for a mere fraction of our investment, and know this Excursion is ready for any excursion you want to tackle. |

2018 Ford Expedition spied looking stylish
Tue, Sep 6 2016The Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator got a cool reception for their 2015 warmed-over redesign. But with big, high-riding vehicles once again in vogue, Ford is pushing ahead with a ground-up redesign of its biggest SUVs. Based on these spy shots, the Expedition will continue to serve as the Navigator's more affordable twin. Yes, that's a bold prediction, considering we still haven't spotted Lincoln testing the new Navigator, but study the greenhouses on this Expedition prototype and the Navigator Concept from New York – from the arrow-straight belt line to the extra-long rear window to the aggressively raked windshield, this Expedition's overall profile is broadly similar to what Lincoln previewed earlier this year. While our spies claim the new Expedition will look to the F-150 for design inspiration, we see a departure from past Expedition tradition. Unlike the supposed Expedition spy shots we showed you nearly a year ago – which was nothing more than an SUV with an F-150's nose grafted on, this prototype's front-end styling looks softer and more aerodynamic, with a smaller grille and headlights, almost like an Escape or Edge. This kind of change would explain the additional front-end camouflage. In back, our spies rightly point out that Ford fitted a faux rear end to disguise the rear window's rake – expect the real thing to feature the angled rear window previewed on the Navigator Concept. Look at the last image in the gallery for a better idea of how the Expedition's rear window will actually look. We can't say a lot about the taillights, because of the camo, but non-LED taillights are present. We'd expect Ford to offer LEDs on higher trim levels. While the F-150's styling might not make the transition to the Expedition, its powertrains and emphasis on lightweight aluminum will. Our spies report the biggest SUV will ride on a new T3 platform and feature an aluminum body, with the F-150's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Expect a ten-speed automatic transmission and start/stop tech for sure, while the smaller 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 could slot in as the Expedition's base engine – we're less sure on that one. And we're even more uncertain of the rumors of an Expedition Hybrid. Our spies report it could mate a 3.5-liter V6 with an electric motor(s) and battery packs for a more economical full-size SUV. Expect to see the 2018 Expedition debut in January, at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.
2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]
Thu, 26 Jun 2014With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.
2015 F-150 launch to curb Ford profits?
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Ford is making a big bet on aluminum with its new 2015 F-150, and it's possible that the decision will hurt the company financially, at least in the short term. After earning a record $8.6 billion in 2013, the Blue Oval does not expect to set another record in 2014. According to Automotive News, that's "largely attributable to F Series," says Bob Shanks, Ford's Chief Financial Officer.
To retool for the new F-150, Ford will idle its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan for 11 weeks and the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri for 2 weeks. "3 of the 13 overall weeks occur during what normally is our summer shutdown timeframe," said Mike Levine, Ford Trucks Communication Manager, in an email to Autoblog. The extra 10 weeks will be preparing for the more aluminum-intensive construction for the trucks and will mean over 2 months of no F-150s being made. For comparison's sake, Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne just confirmed that the 200 plant in Sterling Heights, MI will be down for 30 days to retool for the new model, but obviously there are many more F-150 production variables than for the midsize sedan.
Levine notes that Ford is already running three shifts at both plants, and says the automaker has plans to ensure that there is adequate supply of the full-size pickups during the retooling process. The company does not want to suffer a shortage of the vehicle that accounted for 31-percent of its 2013 US sales and an even bigger percentage of its profits.
