Thu, Sep 17 2015Car Club USA travels to metro Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise, where Ford fans descend upon on Mustang Alley, situated at 9 Mile and Woodward. While the cruise welcomes cars of all makes and models, Mustang Alley invites owners to show off their 'Stangs while commingling with the engineers and designers who created the iconic pony car. "We got very excited as we worked on the (original) model and it was competition among ourselves," said clay modeler Giuliano Zuccato who worked on the first generation Mustang. "This is going to be a very special car." Of course, no Mustang video is complete without some high-speed fun. For that, we head to nearby Waterford Hills Raceway where road course newbie Jeff Bayer looks to push his modified 2010 Mustang GT to the limit. "I've kind of babied the car a little bit," said Jeff. Ken Block proves the new Ford Focus RS can handle that Gymkhana thing
Wed, Feb 4 2015Oh Ford, you've already done a lot for us today, introducing the bound-for-America Focus RS and all. But then you go ahead and add onto this day of good news by handing a prototype of the new all-wheel-drive rocket to drift maestro Ken Block and capture it all on video. Block does his usual, slipping and sliding and drifting the over-315-horsepower hot hatchback through Ford's Cologne, Germany factory, before making a final and surprising appearance at the unveiling of the new RS to European media. It's all as entertaining as it sounds, and gives us plenty of chances to hear the 2.3-liter EcoBoost at full bellow. Related Video:
RWD Lincolns are coming, fate depends partly on MKZ success
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The product portfolio at Lincoln may seem a bit sparse at the moment, but if a report is to be believed, new products are on the way. TheDetroitBureau.com spoke with sources at Lincoln and Ford, who claimed the American premium brand is working on, perhaps more than one, rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
Lincoln would likely platform-share with the next-generation Ford Mustang to develop those RWD offerings in the early going. Moving forward, the report indicates that Lincoln could take the lead on other rear-drive projects in the future. As the RWD architecture continues to take shape, "most or all" of the front-wheel-drive portfolio will also be offered with all-wheel drive as an option, ala Audi.
But wait, there's more! The report also suggests that a replacement for the full-size MKS is on the way, as well as a new Navigator and a luxury crossover based on the current Ford Escape.
