1994 e-350 ford econoline ambualnce, Quigley factory 4x4 ,automatic, manual front hubs to engage 4x4, 7.3 IDI diesel, odometer: 101,000, Weighs 9800Lbs. power windows, power steering, power locks on every door, rear AC/HEAT, powered fan rear air exhaust system to pull air out of the rear cabin, two 110V wall outlets, WALK THROUGH SLIDING MAN-DOOR. Would be a great platform for an expedition vehicle , sportsmobile or camper conversion. I had towed a CHEVY GEO Tracker 4x4 behind it and you did not even know it was there. 101,000 miles original, I bought it 4 years ago with 71,000 miles. Have driven it from Pittsburgh to LA(2500 miles) and another trip to Indiana and back to LA(4500 miles roundtrip). Adjustable air bags on rear axle. "E" rated commercial Goodyear Wrangler tires- 265/75-16 with 50% tread left. Full size spare underneath. 2 new Blue top Optima batteries. Can hold multiple 4x8 sheets of plywood in the rear. 64" stand up height in rear cabin. New Alternator and Optima Blue top batteries in August. New carpet and Dynamat sound proofing metal/rubber product installed in cab in 2010. Radiator , hoses and thermostat is 3 years old New side mirrors and headlights this year, fresh looking!. K&N air filter Custom off-road bumper with 17,000 pound winch and 4 fog lights(foglights are not hooked up but wires have been ran)($3000 new 3 years ago). painted all the red flashing lights orange to comply with CHP. All lights work and flash/rotate. DVD flip out 7" player/AM/FM/AUX IN with automatic back up camera when you put it into REVERSE, plays DVDs while you drive. CB/Weather radio with dual antennas Scanner Smoke detector CO2 detector Two 9V battery operated lights in back for sleeping, mounted on ceiling. Sirens are gone but I installed a novelty siren with noises like frogs, lazers and dogs. All windows tinted dark. All rear windows have a silver mylar insulation panel velcroed inside each window for privacy and heat reflection. Fold down bed (4' x 7') with memory foam mattress. Rear is still like an ambulance. Lots of storage under the bench seat and in cabinets with plexiglass doors. One cabinet does have a broken piece of plexiglass, easy fix. 19" TV and Play Station 2 mounted above rear doors. DANA 60 & 70 was told new shocks and air bags 4 years ago. Class 3 hitch with wiring extra brake lights installed. new muffler and tip 3 years ago replaced rear fenders that were rusting badly with custom made aluminum diamond plate fenders and mudflaps with stainless steel hardware. Paint and "AMBULANCE" decals are in great shape. Looks great from 10 feet away and you would not guess it is 20 years old, more like 5. New FORD hubcaps and an extra. Locking GAS cap. 2 sets of keys. 7.3 IDI Diesel has a great reputation of going forever. I have run it unloaded, and also totally full of furniture while pulling a 21 foot trailer and it always gets the same 10-11 MPG. Will cruise at 80 on flat land. Driving it cross country on the highway is like a boat on a calm lake! I registered it as an RV in California and it is only $84 per year for tags!!!!!!!! As a commercial vehicle it was almost $500. NO SMOG-1998 and older diesels do not require SMOG check. Located in Rosamond, CA 75 minutes from Burbank. If you want to fly into LAX or Burbank airport to drive it home I will pick you up at the airport. Pay my BUY IT NOW price and I'll throw in: windshield mounted GARMIN GPS already installed, 40 gallon new FORD diesel fuel tank I was going to mount in place of the spare tire for a 2nd tank, 400Watt small Microwave that just needs the door handle glued into place(hard to find a microwave less than 700Watts). Powered cooler that plugs into the lighter that can hold about 12+ cans. Battery Tender brand trickle charger that automatically keeps batteries charged that is hard wired already. Set of sheets for the bed. Oil and filter for your next oil change. I never thought I would sell it, I spared no expense on maintenance keeping it up until this Fall. My idea was to add a few things to it to make it more of an expedition vehicle: crank out awning. 2nd gas tank to go further between fill ups or make it a WVO tank and convert it to run both. 15 gallon water tank with 12V pump for out door showers. mount spare on rear door with bike rack. Put a generator box on the back door. install Solar panels on roof and add 3 house batteries to run electric. CHECK OUT the site for doing all these off-road camper builds at expeditionportal do tc om. THE BAD: AC does not blow cold, probably a leak. I had it repaired 3.5 years ago and it worked great until this August. Did not get an estimate. Power steering pump whines a little when you turn the wheel too fast. Oil pan is probably leaking as it appears wet on pan and in the area. It does not drip oil much, maybe one drop each time I park it. It does not burn or use any noticeable amount of oil. I will remove magnets and easy to remove vinyl decals but it is your responsibility to remove all of the remaining decals within 60 days. Cruise control buttons are on steering wheel but does not work. I think they unhook that for Ambulance driving safety, I just never figured out where it was disconnected. A few rust spots that I sanded and touched up. One large rust hole about the size of a silver dollar under drivers door, sanded and painted but not really repaired yet. Ambulance does not have the inverter to run 110V wall outlets, they must have taken it out just before I bought from the ambulance company. It still has 2 wires with connectors ran to the storage closet so maybe it's a simple install. I require a $500 PAYPAL DEPOSIT within 24 hours of auction end. If picking up in person, only cash is acceptable. I have a clear title in hand. Must pick up by December 22nd. Will ship but you must pay for and make all arrangements.Balance must be paid by bank to bank wire transfer within 5 business days, and must ship it within 15 days. For questions call me anytime up until 11 PM California time any night. 66 1 no 87 4 texting7 546. or ask me at animal rescue and transport at ho t ma il dot co m. |

Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
12 best hybrid SUVs for 2022
Tue, Jun 15 2021If you're searching for the best hybrid SUV, the truth is there actually aren't that many choices. While there's an endless sea of those powered solely by gasoline, those that add batteries and superior fuel economy to the mix are few and far between. The very good news, however, is that the choices you have are actually excellent. The top-selling and top-rated Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are not only available as hybrids, for instance, but are actually at their most appealing as hybrids. Luxury hybrid SUVs are a different story. While Lexus offers each of its crossover SUVs as a conventional hybrid, those of other brands are by and large plug-in hybrids that provide a relatively brief amount of all-electric propulsion, superior fuel economy and higher prices that are somewhat countered by EV tax rebates. We include both conventional hybrids and plug-in hybrids in the below list of best hybrid SUVs. All are listed alphabetically within each category. Best small hybrid SUVs | Best midsize hybrid SUVs Best luxury hybrid SUVs | Best luxury plug-in hybrid SUVs Best small hybrid SUVs Honda CR-V Hybrid Why it stands out: Best-in-class back seat space; hybrid's distinctive EV-like power delivery; middle lower LATCH anchorCould be better: Antiquated and glitchy tech interface; a bit dull Hybrid fuel economy: 38 mpg combined (AWD only) Read our 2022 Honda CR-V Review Consider the CR-V the baseline for any compact SUV search. Objectively speaking, it's tough to beat due to its massive cargo capacity, voluminous back seat, well-balanced driving dynamics, competitive pricing and features, strong safety ratings and well-regarded reliability. In terms of its hybridness, we like that Honda's distinctive hybrid system sees most of its propulsion handled by the electric motor (the engine rarely powers the wheels directly), resulting in a more EV-like, torque-rich power delivery and a less obtrusive gas engine. For the vast majority of compact SUV buyers, and especially families, the CR-V Hybrid checks every box. Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Why it stands out: Beautiful interior; excellent infotainment and safety technology; traditional automatic transmissionCould be better: No spare tire; styling a tad outrageous Hybrid fuel economy: 37-38 mpg combined (AWD only) Plug-in hybrid electric range: 33 miles Plug-in hybrid fuel economy: 80 MPGe Read our 2022 Hyundai Tucson Review The Tucson is the new kid in town and it's made quite an entrance.
Ford 1.0L takes third-straight International Engine of the Year award
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost is proving to be The Little Engine That Could, and it continues to acquit itself well, finding favor as one of the best powerplants in the world. To confirm it yet again, the tiny mill just won the International Engine of the Year award for the third year in a row, likewise also nabbing the title in the Sub 1.0-liter category.
Packing 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque with overboost (125 lb-ft normally), the tiny engine combines impressive power in a size small enough to be a carry-on item for a commercial flight. US buyers only got a taste of the award winner in the 2014 Fiesta, while the 1.0 EcoBoost has been available throughout the Ford lineup in Europe for a few years now. American sales have reportedly been strong, however, and next up in the US, the mill will find its way into the 2015 Focus.
The panel of 82 jury members from 34 countries also named the Mercedes-AMG 2.0-liter turbo found in the A45, CLA45 and GLA45 AMG models with 355 hp and 332 lb-ft as the best New Engine for 2014. The electric powertrain from Tesla won Green Engine prize, and the 4.5-liter V8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia took home the honor of top Performance Engine yet again. You can check out all the winners below, and scroll down further to read Ford's celebratory announcement of its award.
