YOuTube Vid search at "Ford E-150 Econoline Van For Sale $3800" VERY low miles only 71 000 Miles since new Iam only the 3rd owner. I purchased from the original owners neighbour who was given the car. The original owner was an eldery gentleman who built a camp interior and blinds to take the car for weekend getaways. He was from the bay area in California and the car has lived its life in california until a couple of months ago when i drove the car from LA to Southern Mexico and back up the east coasts of mexico and the USA to where it now resides in New York ( i have included a couple road trip photos) I am only selling the van as My visa is up and i will be leaving for Europe in the middle of July I love the all original paint and interior It does have a few dents on the passenger side from a car sideswipe the A/C does not work the radio receives static but cant find a radio station the 4.9L straight 6 runs perfect and smooth first time every time and the 4 speed auto transmissions changes smooth and correct. All steering, suspension and brakes are in perfect working order with no unwanted knocks, squeaks or sounds.. The van has been garaged since new from all 3 owners and other than the dent in the side from another car, the body is immaculate. The army green window shades all fit perfect via velcro and block the light and heat perfect for camping and the shade over the driver section gives the illusion of a parked car and makes for easy free camping. The car still carries the original california blue plates issued back in 1985 (WORTH $$$$$) as well as sales brochures, maintenance books and econoline 150 manuals. I have also decided to include some vintage roof racks and a 9'1" Longboard with the sale for the full $3800. Please look at all photos and the video I have provided and ask any questions via email, text or phone call.. The car is my transport and home until i fly to Portugal on the 14th July from JFK airport. So the final sale/transfer of vehicle will be on this date. 2015 Ford F-150 begins rolling off line at second factory
Sun, Mar 15 2015Ford needs more F-150s. Yeah, we just told you that a few days ago. The Blue Oval is reporting that its trucks are spending a mere 18 days on dealer lots, following a January that was the truck's best month in over a decade. Considering both of those facts, the timing is perfect for Ford to ramp up production of its all-aluminum truck by bringing its Kansas City, MO factory online. KC Assembly has been building F-150s for decades, and completed a $1.1-billion expansion to accommodate the all-aluminum 2015 truck (as well as for work on the Transit van). Similar to what was done at Ford's Dearborn, MI factory, the Blue Oval spent 13 weeks upgrading the plant's body shop, paint shop and a road-test course. Over 900 jobs were added as part of the update. Combined with the equally upgraded plant in metro Detroit, Ford can build 700,000 trucks per year. "The all-new F-150 has surpassed our expectations – setting new standards for fullsize truck capability, technology and efficiency," Joe Hinrichs, Ford's Americas president said in a statement. "With production starting at Kansas City Assembly, we are better poised to start meeting growing customer demand for our pickup." Scroll down for the official press blast from the Blue Oval. 10 automakers shack up in Detroit hotel to talk Takata airbags
Sun, Dec 14 2014Since Takata has decided not to take the lead concerning potential issues with its airbag inflators, the automakers have. Perhaps that's unsurprising, since it's the automakers, not Takata, that will take a beating on the dealership floor if consumers decide its models are a health hazards. The Detroit News reports that Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Subaru met in a hotel conference room near the Detroit Metropolitan Airport last week to sort out a way to understand the technical issues involved. So far, faulty airbag inflators have been ruled the cause of five deaths and 50 injuries around the world, but neither Takata nor investigators understands exactly why the inflators are malfunctioning. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently asked Takata to issue a national recall, Takata declined, citing a minuscule failure rate and the fact that it's still investigating the issue. Toyota and Honda then made an industry-wide appeal for "a coordinated, comprehensive testing program" that would pinpoint the problem inflators and get them replaced, and that's what the Detroit meeting was about. Numerous issues, however, will make this a long row to hoe: simply getting the parts to replace the nearly 20 million inflators in cars recalled around the world so far - even working with other suppliers - will take a years, but more importantly, no one knows if the replacement inflators currently being installed will suffer the same issue. Answers will hopefully come quickly with Takata, the ten automakers and NHTSA all independently investigating the problem.
Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy
Tue, 07 May 2013With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
