2003 Ford E-series Super Duty on 2040-cars
Union, New Jersey, United States
I purchased this van in May 2013 to use as an owner operator for a courier service because I lost my job. After a few months I found a job that I couldn't pass up. I purchased the Van from a reputable Ford Used dealer in NJ for $11,500. I purchased the Van with 133000 and only put 4000 miles on it. It now has 137300. The engine has a mild Edge chip to wake up the just broken in 7.3 Turbo-Diesel with 137300 miles. This was the last and some say the best year for the 7.3, the most reliable high service mileage engine ever put in any small to medium sized truck. Many of these engines have over 1 million miles on them.
This truck starts and runs great with power to do any hauling or towing job with its class III hitch connections. Rides great down the road with 20MPG on the highway. Transmission was serviced just before I purchased and shifts as designed. Stops powerfully and smoothly. A wonderful all around much sought after work truck. When lettered, these extended vans are a great billboard for your business. There are a few nicks in the paint here and there, a little wear on the driver’s seat, but overall a great survivor for a 10 year old van. Clean carfax. I’m selling this 2003 Ford E-350 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel Super-Duty Van as is, with NO warranty expressed or implied. I am selling out of the Union, NJ 07083. Shipping if required is sole responsibility of the Buyer. I will assist the buyer with a pickup by a transport if necessary, But I think you’ll want to drive it home. Bid with confidence, the lucky Buyer of this van will love how this truck goes down the road. Reserve is respectable for what this truck commands, but will go to the highest bidder. This truck is for sale privately and can be pulled from this auction before its termination.
Payment will be a deposit of $1000 dollars to Paypal within 24 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining balance will be accepted in cash or certified check at the time of vehicle pickup if in person, or cleared payment before shipping. |

We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA
Tue, 04 Nov 2014As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.
Riding along in Ford's bonkers Fiesta ST Global RallyCross car [w/video]
Wed, 28 Aug 2013
The Mountune-worked Fiesta ST GRC does 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
On any given day, and every single weekend, there's at least one parking in the country invaded by manufacturer and team trucks. The be-chromed beasts and their 53-foot trailers are slotted into rows, men and women decorate the lot with orange cones to mark the invisible tracery of a temporary track, cars get unloaded, crews fret over them. The ritual can be as beautiful as the sunrise to those with enthusiast hearts, but it's just as common.
Man has surgery to remove T-Bird turn signal that's been in his arm for 51 years
Fri, Jan 2 2015In 1963, real estate agent Arthur Lampitt was driving a new Ford Thunderbird near East Peoria, Illinois on his way to an appointment when he collided head-on with a truck. A massive accident that was so bad that it was originally reported as a fatal crash, Lampitt suffered a broken hip and that became the focus of doctors' efforts. In fact, no one noticed the fact that the turn-signal stalk had been broken off the steering column and had lodged itself in Lampitt's arm. Fast-forward to around ten years ago, when Lampitt set off a courthouse metal detector because of a "slender object, about the size of a pencil" in his arm. Despite that unnerving discovery, the doctor who examined Lampitt said that since it didn't hurt, he needn't worry about it. This year, however, it did start hurting and the affected arm started to bulge. Lampitt decided to have the issue seen to, and suspected it might have something to do with his 1963 accident. When he looked through photos of the wreck taken by a friend, he noticed the turn-signal stalk of the Thunderbird missing and figured that was the culprit. After a 45-minute outpatient surgery, the surgeon verified it: a slim, slightly bent and corroded, seven-inch metal cylinder with a trumpeted end. The surgeon said a protective pocket had formed around it, which is why it could remain in Lampitt's arm so long, but it was still unusual - "We see all kinds of foreign objects like nails or pellets, but usually not this large." Lampitt, who is expected to make a full recovery, says he might make a keychain out of it, once he's done just holding it.
