For auction is a 1969 unmolested Ford Econoline E-300 Super Van. 302 V-8, 2BBL Automatic transmission (C-4) Dana rear axle. 8 lug wheels/16.5" (1 Ton)
I purchased this vehicle from the family of its original owner after his passing. It had been sitting in the California high desert since 1991. I had it towed back to LA and spent more that $1500 in parts alone (my labor was free) restoring the mechanics of the vehicle. By restoring, I did not recondition any of the drivetrain. Engine, trans, differential perform perfectly. I did, however replace the following parts (and others that I have likely forgotten) These parts have about 5000 miles service on them.
All fluids and filters (eng and trans)
Master Cylinder
All Wheel Cylinders
Water Pump
Fuel Pump/Fuel Filter and added two inline filters
Removed Fuel tank and cleaned
Removed radiator and cleaned (professionally)
Thermostat/Hoses and Belts
Wheel Bearings and seals
Brake shoes (LF brake hose and LR brake drum)
Brake Hardware
Alternator
Starter
Battery
New tires
There is no rust on this vehicle except light surface rust that grows over paint chips, WITH ONE EXCEPTION. I removed the (homemade) spare tire carrier to find a little rust on the right rear door. I sprayed some rattle can paint over the rust and left it until later. That time never came.
Here's the deal: I own a motorcycle shop in LA County, and I purchased the vehicle to use for the shop, and because I thought the van was super cool! I hardly ever use it for anything other than to pick up small parts, and for that a more economical vehicle works just fine. I took it camping one time, and it was a lot of fun. I just don't have enough space to store it for novelty purposes any longer, and insurance and registration costs make it impractical.
I have many more pictures that I can email you, if desired. I have a few pictures of the van before mechanical restoration and a few pics of the new parts as they were being installed.
I included more ugly pics than pretty ones. I want the buyer to know of all dents and paint condition, above all!
As you can tell from the pictures, the original color was industrial white, but the exterior was changed to a baby blue. They did not bother to repaint the door jams.
If you have ever wanted a cool example of a tough old van that will do just about anything and haul just about anything, this would be a nice choice. It is ready to go, and a little TLC to the interior would make it really sweet!
Thank you for looking, and happy bidding.
Please email me first with any questions before bidding!
If you have fewer than ten ebay transactions or less that 100% feedback, please email me before bidding! I appreciate your interest, but I have no interest in games.
NO MONEY, NO BID, PLEASE!!!
Paypal or bank transfer required within 48 hours of auction end.
This is a no reserve auction!
GOOD LUCK!

Ford recalls 200,000 vehicles for brake lights that won't turn off
Wed, Jan 19 2022Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced a new recall for nearly 200,000 vehicles because their brake lights may not turn off. Drivers of affected vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions may also be able to shift the vehicles out of Park even when their foot is off the brake. That increases the risk of a rollaway and could cause a crash. According to documentation posted on NHTSA's recall hub, a separated brake pedal bumper is to blame for the issue. The recall applies to "certain 2014-2015 Fusion, Lincoln MKZ and 2015 Mustang vehicles originally sold or ever registered, in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Hawaii." The safety regulator adds that "exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, high humidity and salt air can cause the brake pedal bumper to disintegrate and separate from the brake pedal." Owners of affected vehicles should expect notification of the recall in early March. They will be directed to the dealership of their choice to have their brake pedal bumpers and clutch pedal bumpers replaced free of charge. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Ford reveals Fiesta ST race car, points at road ahead for bigger things in Global RallyCross
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Ford Fiesta ST doesn't go on sale until this summer, but fans of Global RallyCross will be able to catch the car in action before then. Announced ahead of the Chicago Auto Show, the Fiesta ST will be the car run by Ford GRC teams this season, and the model on display in Chicago will be the racecar built by Swedish tuner OlsbergsMSE driven by Tanner Foust and Brian Deegan. Ken Block and his newly renamed Hoonigan Racing Division will also be competing in the Fiesta ST.
The 2013 GRC season has not been announced yet, but the venues will also include the summer X Games events in Brazil, Spain, Germany and, of course, Los Angeles. Ford announced that it will be the sole automotive sponsor of this year's summer X Games, and it will be looking to bring home a gold medal this year after Block placed silver last year.
In other Ken Block- and Ford-related news, another Chicago debut will be a tuned Focus ST called the TrackSTer project. Built in cooperation with Block, Ford and automotive tuner fifteen52, the TrackSTer will get plenty of styling, performance and handling upgrades. Some of the add-ons include a performance exhaust and short-throw shifter from Ford Racing, a rebuilt engine, upgraded components such as the limited-slip differential, intercooler, engine controller and clutch as well as upgraded brakes.
UK's Loughborough University improving Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine
Wed, May 21 2014How much does it cost for college students to study zero emissions vehicles? At Loughborough University in the UK, a new Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is being built at a cost of a billion pounds ($1.7 billion US). The school has just announce that it will fund a number of grad student positions and is creating a new Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, which sounds like a fun job to us. We're weird like that. There will be a total of four professor-type positions in the new Center, including the chair, all focused on teaching students about low-carbon vehicle technologies, specifically electric and hybrid ones. The school is investing 1.5 million pounds ($2.5 million) for the new positions. There is a bigger picture as well, a 26-million pound ($44 million) Advanced Combustion Turbocharged Integrated Variable-valvetrain Engine (ACTIVE) project, which uses funds not only from the school but also from Ford and others. The point of ACTIVE is to study Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and "improve further its efficiency and ensure it exceeds 2020 emission regulations." This is already a popular engine for the automaker, and it will need to stay at the bleeding edge of efficiency to remain as important in 2020 as it is today. Loughborough University has been working with automakers on advanced energy technologies for years, for example with Rolls-Royce and fuel cells in 2007 and the Lotus Hotfire engine in 2008. University invests GBP1.5M in advanced propulsion research to advance zero emissions vehicles challenge Loughborough University is investing GBP1.5M over five years in strategic research appointments, inspired by the global challenge to develop the new advanced propulsion technologies required for the move to zero emission vehicles. These appointments reinforce the University's world-class research in low-carbon vehicle technologies, adding new dimensions concerned with electric and hybrid drives. Four appointments will be made, including a Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, supported by a number of PhD studentships. The GBP1.5M investment is part of the University's commitment to the recently announced Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) to support the development of new supply chains for low carbon vehicles. APC is an initiative established by the Automotive Council that will see GBP1 billion of investment from government and industry over the next 10 years.
