Up for sale is a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with the Street Appearance Package.  This car has all of the heavy duty equipment of a regular P71 but also has the trim to give it the comfort and looks of a civilian model.  This particular car was assigned to the Director of the Oregon Department of Corrections.  It hasn't been used for regular police patrol.  There have been two different directors since the car was new, basically making it a two-driver car.  I have personally put about 800 miles on it.  The current mileage may go up due to test drives, etc.

The car has never had any emergency lighting installed in it.  There are no holes in the roof or A-pillars.  No push bar mounted on the front.  There was minimal radio equipment installed.  There are two antennas still mounted in the trunk lid and one in the rear window.  (The antenna you see on the passenger side rear quarter panel is the factory AM/FM radio antenna, 2005 was the only year Ford did this.)  Inside the car there is evidence of a radio being mounted on the floor between the driver and front passenger.  There is a small slit in the carpet there where they ran the wires underneath the carpet.  Also, there is a microphone holder mounted to the dash trim.

The interior is in good shape.  It has full carpet as well as carpet floor mats.  On top of these mats are aftermarket rubber floor mats.  The front seat is a bench seat with three seat belts, bringing the total seating capacity to six people.  There has never been a safety partition or door bars installed in this car.  The doors all open from the inside and the window switches all work.  Other than the previously mentioned defects from radio installation there are no tears, holes, or cracks in the interior.  It is a nice dark charcoal color.

The exterior does have some scratches and dings but is overall in nice condition.  It is Dark Blue Pearl.  As mentioned earlier the only aftermarket equipment mounted are the antennas at the rear of the vehicle.

This car is well-optioned, and includes the following in addition to the standard CVPI/SAP features:

-Cruise Control
-Traction Control
-AM/FM Cassette Player
-Side Impact Airbags
-Trunk Pack (trunk organizer)
-Full-Size Spare Tire

The car runs and drives well.  As mentioned it has basically had just two drivers (other than me).  I have personally put about 800 miles on the car and it has performed great for me.  It comes with service records dating back to when it was new.  Some of the highlights include a new starter, alternator, and water pump all done within the last 15,000 miles.  Everything on the car works (lights, wipers, radio, windows, etc.).  The engine bay is dirty and could use a cleaning but I purposely didn't clean it because I would like prospective buyers to be able to see that there are no leaks or anything being hidden.  The car has a clean and clear title and just passed emissions in Oregon.  The car is being sold As-Is.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule a time to inspect/test-drive the car please send me an email or give me a phone call or text.  I am a small licensed dealer and I work by appointment only.  My schedule is very flexible and I can usually accommodate the needs of my customers on short notice.  If the purchaser is from out of the area I would be happy to pick them up at the airport, bus terminal, or train station.   Thank you for your interest.

2015 Ford Mustang option prices gallop onto the web

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

The 2015 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated cars of the year, despite the fact that production hasn't yet begun. What's a pony car fan to do? It turns out that Ford already has pricing and options information about the vehicle in its dealer ordering system. A few enterprising folks have snapped some pictures from it and have posted them online. You might not be able to drive your car yet, but you can at least see what it might cost.
At the moment, Ford appears to be splitting the Mustang into five models - 3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter EcoBoost, GT with the 5.0-liter V8, 50th Anniversary and SVT. There are 10 available paint colors, 2 of which require an extra outlay. Triple Yellow is $495, and Ruby Red Tint is $395. Regardless of model, navigation goes for $795, and reverse parking assist is $295.
For both the EcoBoost and GT, the six-speed automatic tacks an extra $1,195 to the sticker, and adaptive cruise control is the same price. The GT also has a limited-slip 3.55 rear end for $395 and a GT Performance package for $2,495. Recaro leather seats add an extra $1,595. For the EcoBoost, there's something called EcoBoost Performance package for $1,995. The system doesn't say what the packages include.

Watch divers pull 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1, Mazda RX-7 from a river

Thu, Apr 2 2020

It’s like the ultimate barn find, only swap out the relatively ideal dry confines of a barn for a watery grave. Adventures with Purpose, a YouTube channel devoted to the exploits of a group of divers in Oregon that specializes in pulling submerged cars from the water, recently found six vehicles in the Tualatin River, near Portland. The most notable finds? A 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 fastback and a Mazda RX-7 sports car, plus a Chevrolet LUV pickup, which is not shown being pulled from the water. As you might expect, neither are exactly in top condition, with the badly rusted Mustang basically disintegrating into scrap pieces as itÂ’s pulled onto a flatbed truck parked on a boat ramp. The RX-7, meanwhile, is caked with mud, its windshield and roof crumpled, but itÂ’s basically intact. A hat tip goes to CarBuzz for spotting the videos. The divers use inflatable salvage bags to help raise the vehicles. They removed the MustangÂ’s rusted and encrusted V8 first — the '73 model came with either 302 or 351 engines — and had to pause to remove some of the thick mud that had built up inside the car. Other things they found from both pulls include an old sledgehammer, a stop sign and a rusted Washington state license plate. This content is hosted by a third party. The whole Mach 1 salvage operation took two days. “A lot of you are going to be a bit upset at how destroyed the Mustang Mach 1 became after we tried removing it from the river,” the team wrote in its description. “In our defense, there was an extra 8,000 pounds of mud inside the car, along with the Mustang being underwater in the river for over 40 years.” The Adventures with Purpose team says it has recovered 326 cars, six guns, two bodies and a tractor, among things. Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8

Fri, 25 Jul 2014

Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.
