You are bidding on a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with 67,300 miles. The car utilized by a Municipal Police Department in the Chicago Metropolitan Suburbs. The vehicle was maintained by public works mechanics on a regular basis. The car is in excellent condition. It rides extremely comfortably; the steering is tight and doesn't pull to the side on the highway; acceleration is strong and powerful, and the transmission shifts smoothly. All the options work. The car rides like new. Overall, it is a solid car with a lot of power.

The paint is in very good condition. There are several antenna holes (one on the trunk and one on the roof), both of which have been plugged.  There was no light bar on this car.  There is a small dent on the lower portion of the driver’s side rear door.  Otherwise, the exterior is in great condition.  Tires are in good condition with a lot of tread life.

The interior is also in very good condition. The interior is dark gray in color. The front bucket seats are cloth and very firm with lumbar support and driver’s side power seat. The steering wheel is in excellent condition without any tears.

The vehicle is equipped with a Secure Idle/ Ignition Override. This is a feature of the police package which allows the vehicle to idle without the key in the ignition. The car cannot be put into drive without the key in the ignition. This feature allows police equipment to stay powered on as well as keep the heater or air conditioning running when the officer is away from the car.

We realize there are a fair amount of 2009's to choose from. This is not a poor condition car and we are starting at a fair price for a car that is ready to go. We encourage you to inspect the vehicle located in northeast Illinois, 30 miles north of Chicago. If you are serious about this car, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. We've done our homework when researching department squad cars and have sold quality used police interceptors at fair prices; so please compare.

New GMC Canyon, Ford Bronco Heritage Editions and Nissan Z | Autoblog Podcast #743

Fri, Aug 19 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Producer Christopher McGraw. They kick off the podcast with news. Ford launched retro-themed Heritage Editions for its 2023 Bronco and Bronco Sport lineup. GMC unveiled the 2023 Canyon, complete with a ZR2-based AT4X trim. Some rare, vintage American cars were stolen and destroyed in England. Chris loves sleeping in cars, and tells us how to turn a car into a camper for less than $100. Next, our hosts talk about what they've been driving from the Autoblog test fleet, including the new Nissan Z (which Chris slept in), Mercedes EQS 450 and VW Atlas. Finally, they reference a recent Autoblog Reddit AMA for a unique "Spend My Money" format. They help one participant pick a sub-$40,000 sports car, and another choose a JDM sports car to import to the U.S. when they move back from Japan. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue

Tue, 28 May 2013

We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.
