2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor P71 Original Equipment @ No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Hollywood, Florida, United States
Hello, I am auctioning off my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I am the original second owner of this vehicle. This car starts, runs, idles, drives and shifts like the day it was new. It has never given me any problems at all whatsoever. A/C is ice-cold. I am a private seller and not a dealer. This was was my personal car for years. Tires are a clean matching set. Still has the original equipment spotlight in place. Exterior is exceptionally clean with no major dents, dings or scratches (SEE PICTURES BELOW) Also has Original police radio antenna in place. Interior is exceptionally clean as well with NO foul odors. Never smoked in. Interior has no major rips or stains. Very clean Police car in and out. Has ONLY 96K Original All Easy Florida Highway Miles. My starting bid is at NO RESERVE. This is a straight forward and honest description, no hidden surprises or gimmicks here. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Beautiful all original 2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. NO RESERVE. Please ask any if all questions before bidding. Winnder bidder will be responsible of for having a shipping company (uShip) to come and pick up the car after payment in full has been made. NO PAYPAL. Too many scams with that. Overnighted cashiers check or wire transfer is okay. Vehicle comes with all the original Ford owners manuals and has been FULLY maintained every 3,000 miles using only Ford filters and fluids. I will not meet anyone at an airport with cash. Please message me to arrange payment and pick up of the car. Paint is 100% all original paint, never touched up. There is spot area of paint peeling from the roof as pictured. Rest of the car is clean as you can see from the pictures of the hood and trunk that the one spot on the roof is the only area peeling. I never touched it up because I did not want anyone thinking that it was painted to cover something up. This is a 100% real clean straight Police cruiser. It will drive across the country and back. Power windows, power locks even has AM/FM Cassette. Power window defrost. Tilt steering, power mirrors and trunk. Even has Power lumbar support. Stereo sounds great.

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
Ford board OK with Mulally stepping down earlier
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's board is open to CEO Alan Mulally stepping down before his planned departure in 2014, inside sources are telling Reuters. Ford's plan of succession, aside from who would be his actual successor, has been something approaching common knowledge - the 68-year-old former Boeing exec had plans to stay through 2014. This was recently confirmed by Mulally himself on Bloomberg Television and in Automotive News.
Motivation for the about-face comes from what Reuters calls a "growing confidence" in the current crop of Ford execs, led by Mark Fields. Fields, Ford's current chief operating officer, has been tipped as Mulally's ultimate successor, although he's far from the only person with eyes on Ford's top job. Normally, Ford's board saying they're open to an executive, that's done very well for the company, stepping down early would be nearly unremarkable. It's the timing of this announcement, though, that makes this a big piece of news.
Recently, Mulally has been the subject of rumors that he's interested in taking the CEO position at tech giant Microsoft. The Redmond, Washington-based company's CEO, Steve Ballmer, told the media in August that he'd be retiring in a year's time. The fires were stoked when tech website AllThingsD speculated that Mulally would take the top spot, despite denials from the man himself. Could Ford's current boss become the new top dog at Microsoft? Will Mark Fields replace him? Could recently departed Renault exec Carlos Tavares land at Ford in some capacity? Let us know what you think below in Comments.
1964 Ford GT40 prototype sells for $7M
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Seven-figure Ferraris are not horribly rare. Heck, an eight-figure Ferrari isn't a rare occurrence. Between modern masterpieces like the Enzo and more classic offerings, cracking the million-dollar mark isn't a particularly tall order for the cars from Maranello. For a Ford, though, it's a big deal.
Now, this is not just some rare Mustang. This is a GT40, the car that Henry Ford II commissioned to whip Enzo Ferrari around a track in France. As far as the Le Mans-winning racers go, they don't get much rarer than this one. Sold at the Mecum Auctions in Houston, this is one of the prototypes, meaning it's one of the very first GT40s ever built. That makes its $7 million winning a bid, a record for on-air coverage of the auction, a pretty darn impressive figure.
You can watch the auction below, but first, take a look back at our original story on this rare Blue Oval.
