2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Howard Lake, Minnesota, United States
Here's a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor I purchased in MO a month or so ago.
The good: I have not test driven this car much because it doesn't have plates. I have taken it down the road locally a few times and it seems to drive well. The interior is clean overall. The seats are in good condition. Since the car is from Missouri, overall the body is very good with no visible rust. The car got new spark plugs last week. The brakes are 50% in the front and 60% in the rear remaining. The rear doors have all of the lock and latch mechanisms in them. Most cop cars do not. I have a clean MO title in hand. Car has no major oil leaks or serious mechanical problems that I could find. These cars were advertised to get 24mpg highway. Not too bad! These cars are built for long term heavy service. That's why taxi companies drive them. It's got cop shocks, cop brakes, etc... The bad: Car has 124K miles on it, so everything is not "brand new" tight. It has some rattles and squeaks. The paint is not too good. The black is faded and chalky. It is flaked in multiple spots. It has some scratches and areas that are peeling. Cup holder cover is broken off. See pic. The roof has some small dents and holes in it from equipment. The rear door on the driver's side has a dent. See pic. The corner of the trunk lid his a ding and some small dents. The tires are 30-40% remaining. One rear inner door handle is broken. Not the mechanism, just the handle. If you are looking for a cheaper but reliable car to drive, this car is for you. Keep in mind that this is a cheaper car that's 10+ years old. So, it's not perfect. I have described this car to the best of my knowledge and tried to point out any flaws that I could find. Please email with questions before bidding. Thanks for checking it out!! |

Xcar flogs the 2015 Ford Focus ST
Wed, Feb 18 2015There's an inevitable dilemma that practically every auto fan eventually faces, at least other than Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, and that's the tradeoff of performance, practicality and perhaps most importantly, money. Parking the fabled supercar in the garage might be the wish, but for most folks bigger responsibilities – like a family – just don't allow that dream to be a reality. In the view of XCar Films, this intersection of needs and wants is where vehicles like the latest Ford Focus ST provide a fantastic compromise between exciting driving and everyday practicality. Xcar hops into Ford's recently refreshed European hot hatch to illustrate its abilities as both a hauler for the small family on the move and for the driver who just wants to go. The Blue Oval left the powertrain alone for the ST's update, but sharpened the exterior styling, revised the interior and retuned the front suspension and steering. Being realistic, no one is ever going to get behind the wheel of the Focus ST and mistake it for a Porsche, but that's not really the point. Instead, buyers get to put a smile on their face from time to time and still maintain life's other responsibilities. Production Ford Escort heading for Beijing
Wed, 16 Apr 2014Ford's long-dormant Escort nameplate returned affixed to a sedan concept at last year's Shanghai Motor Show. While not exactly a beauty, it showed a clean, straightforward take on Ford's current styling. The Blue Oval said at the time that it wanted to create a model that was stylish "but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Job done. A year later, it looks like the minimalist vehicle might make its production debut at the Beijing Motor Show.
Autocar claims that the streetgoing version has been confirmed to it for the upcoming show, but so far, Ford isn't saying. If unveiled, the Escort is likely to be produced locally for the Chinese market with a domestic partner. Powertrain details remain a secret, but it seems highly likely that any production model would use a small three- or four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive. Sales in other major world markets like ours are unlikely, but a test car was recently spotted in Europe.
Autoblog contacted Ford for confirmation, but the automaker demurred, with a spokesperson saying only, "At the moment, we are not confirming any vehicles planned for the show." It looks like we will have to wait to know for sure.
Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.
